    Day trip to Kos with hotel pick up

    It was OK - early morning start as we booked hotel pick up which was changed from 0730 to 0700. There was then a lot of time waiting at the port before boarding the catamaran. If we were to do this trip again we would arrange a taxi from hotel to port I think it would have been cheaper and we wouldn’t have had to leave so early. The day in Kos was enjoyable and the ferry ride there and back was also good.

    Long day out - interesting though

    Whilst it was an enjoyable day out, there was a lot of waiting about. Obviously, leaving Turkey and arriving in Greece means passport control both ways which took quite a bit of time - standing in the heat. Once in Kos there was quite a bit to see, the Castle (closed to the public) an old gymnasium, Hypocrites tree. Plenty of shops and places to eat. To fill the time we took a trip on the blue road train - which seemed to drive around for about 30 minutes round some of the sites, but with no commentary or information given. We were in Kos town for around 6 hours before returning to the port for another long wait in a queue. The ferry was clean and quick - be prepared for a bit of choppy water. Also be aware there is a €15 port tax to be paid. The day was a bit to long for wandering around.

    Day trip to Kos

    We found customer service very disappointing. Although the booking confirmation stated 7-30am hotel pick up we were told the night before we may not be eligible for hotel pick up !! Eventually they agreed to collect us at 06-40am. Although the driver was prompt he had no idea where he was taking us. All in all not a good start. However we thoroughly enjoyed Kos and would recommend it. Just maybe use a different travel company.

    TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

    DO NOT BOOK THIS. It is a scam! They do not provide you with any information or even give you the actual ferry tickets, just a “confirmation” that the ferry terminal will not recognize. Just go to the port directly and buy your tickets in person when you want to go!! We spent over an hour on the phone with customer service at Viator trying to sort through this and they did not help either. Total waste of time and money!!!
