    Great history day tour

    Milena_P, Apr 2026
It's a busy day, but really interesting history and the surrounding jungle and mountains is beautiful. Not too much time in the museums so if you're keen to read more, maybe snap a few photos of the information boards to catch up reading on the bus. Bung the guide was great, had some lovely chats and learnt a lot from her.

    Response from Host, May 2026

Thank you for your review! We’re glad you enjoyed the stunning scenery and Bung’s insightful company. To maximize your experience, your tip about photographing museum boards for the journey is excellent. We strive to balance deep history with the area's natural beauty professionally. We look forward to welcoming you on another adventure soon!

    A life changing tour

    Astrid_H, Apr 2026
This is a long day but totally worth it. The guide is very knowledgeable and helpful. The driver friendly and good. The places of interest are mind blowing. The museum at the cemetery is particularly good.

    Response from Host, Apr 2026

Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re glad the day felt worthwhile and that our guide and driver made it enjoyable. It’s great to hear the sites impressed you, especially the museum at the cemetery. We hope to welcome you again soon!

    Interesting tour

    Julia_L, Mar 2026
Luke (our guide) was informative, but his meeting times & locations were not accurate. When I was on time, he made me feel late as I wasn’t early. He wouldn’t tell us where we were meeting & I just guessed correctly or he wouldn’t be in the location & we (3 of us) accidentally ran into him & the others. It was frustrating.

    Response from Host, Mar 2026

Thank you for your feedback. We're glad you found Luke informative, but we're sorry to hear about the confusion with meeting times and locations. We will review this with our team to improve communication and ensure a smoother experience for future guests. We appreciate you sharing your experience with us.

    Tour was amazing

    chand_b, Feb 2026
The whole itinerary was nicely planned. We chose this tour for the history and visiting the bridge and hellfire. The food was great! The views from the train ride were spectacular… however …. The guide Tony wasn’t as informative as expected the journey to the points were quiet and I was expecting maybe some information about the landmarks were visiting.

    Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad you enjoyed the itinerary, food, and scenic train views. We’re sorry Tony didn’t provide as much information as expected and appreciate your input—we’ll work on ensuring guides share more insights about the landmarks in future tours.

Excellent use of a day in Bangkok!

    Trevor_M, Jan 2026
Excellent Day Trip from Bangkok. A fully rounded experience of the trauma over the Death Railway construction and the topography surrounding it. Highlight has to be Hellfire Pass and the aura present. Decent lunch and pleasant train ride culminating in a walk across the legendary ‘Bridge over the River Kwai’. Our guide Alex was helpful and informative and our driver (missed his name) was a force of nature negotiating the Chaotic traffic. Fully recommend this tour despite the early start!

    Response from Host, Jan 2026

Thank you for your detailed review! We’re glad you found the experience meaningful and well balanced, especially at Hellfire Pass and the River Kwai. Great to hear Alex and the driver made the day run smoothly. We truly appreciate your recommendation!

    Time organisation was poor

    Andy_K, Jan 2026
Experience is good but we don’t have enough time. Museum is 40 mins. Walking 30 mins. No realistic time.

    Response from Host, Jan 2026

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed the experience, though we sincerely regret that the pace felt rushed. We aim to provide a seamless balance between exploration and relaxation, and your comments regarding the tour timing are invaluable for our improvements. We hope to welcome you back for a more leisurely visit.

    Set expectations

    Christine_M, Jan 2026
Order needs to have the interpretive centre or research centre first. We went to the cemetery first and missed the context of the railway and why deaths increased for particular dates. Research centre does a good job of explaining this, interpretive centre does is with their short video for people won don’t read at museums. Don’t expect much from the guide - his main focus was getting us where we needed to be which was fine. Info shared was mostly not related to the tour topic - it was about religion, politics or lady boys. There was a short intro at the start of the tour that was scene setting but you really need the museum or interpretive centre to understand what you’re seeing and why it’s important. Lunch was fine. Didn’t include a drink but free water is provided on the bus. Train trip is for an hour. Sit on the right for a view of the river and the bridge. There’s time to walk the bridge at the end of the train trip - there’s railing and plates over the sleepers so it’s fairly safe. There was no discussion at all about paying the extra 300 baht for a seat - I had read about this in other reviews, there were heaps of seats. The windows open and there are fans - it was pleasant and not too hot thanks to the breeze from the window. Lots of stairs on the hellfire pass walk. It’s easy and there’s heaps of time but it may not be suitable for all. Traffic terrible on the drive back to Bangkok. Would prefer option to get dropped at first metro station where traffic starts (eg bang wa) instead of sitting on the bus for an hour and a half dropping everyone else off. Pick up was 15 minutes early.

    Response from Host, Jan 2026

Thank you for your constructive feedback. We appreciate your insights regarding the tour sequence and guide focus; we are addressing these with our team to ensure a more educational experience. We’re glad you enjoyed the train views and Hellfire Pass. Your suggestion for a metro drop-off is excellent for bypassing Bangkok traffic. We hope to welcome you back for an improved journey.

Hellfire Pass N Wang Pho Train Ride

    Donna_F, Dec 2025
Th visit to the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery and Museum was very, very intense. The lunch at Wang Pho was delicious and the subsequent train ride was a lot of fun.
