Slow stroll through old town Bamberg.

This was an ok tour. A slow walk through the old streets. Stopped into the cathedral, past the residence and into the garden, then down to the old town. We received a historic framing and saw some little quirky items we would not have noted on our own. We were near other tour groups with guides with amplification and sometimes we got more from listening to these.

Great tour to learn about Bamberg

Natascha was our guide for the walking tour of Bamberg. It felt like walking around the city with a friend. We started at the Bamberg Cathedral and luckily, we were ahead of the cruise ship tours. We were able to see the church in a quiet setting and take our time looking around and taking in the history. Natascha was very respectful of the rules and gave us a quick overview before we entered, so we were well informed before we entered. She also helped us understand when Sunday services were being held so my cousin could attend prior to us leaving Bamberg. We then strolled around the city and learned so much about how the town formed and how the very famous Altes Rathaus ended up in the middle of the river. We were with a larger tour group and decided to take this tour while the group was touring one of the famous breweries in Bamberg. We were very happy we took this tour to learn about the town!

Natascha was amazing. Despite the rough weather and the torrential rain, she was full of enthusiasm, shared so much about the history of Bamberg, and still managed to show us all the amazing sights. Overall, this was such a great walking tour, and I would recommend this for everyone wanting to learn more about this beautiful town.

Horst was an exceptional tour guide. He has a wealth of knowledge about the town, all with a lot of self-deprecating humor. What could have been a lengthy history lesson, became and engaging and interesting introduction to Bamberg. This was by far due to our tour with Horst. I can't recommend it enough. In fact, Bamberg was by far our favorite stop on our 12-day journey in Germany.

Charming Walk through Bamberg

Ulrika graciously hosted me and my wife along with another couple we are friends with for a Christmas Eve tour. We walked along old canal streets, saw buildings from long ago, and learned the stories and characters behind them throughout the journey. Ulrika brought along an old city map and some pictures to add to her tour as well. The Christmas Markets and particular day of the year ruled out going inside a few places (old breweries, etc.). Overall, while a rainy and chilly day, the tour was pleasant.
