We traveled the Yucatan peninsula with friends snd decided to book a lagoon boat trip. The experience was unforgettable. We started st 8AM with some fog over the lagoon snd after half an hour the fog was over uncovering all the beautiful colors. Hugo and Valentin brought us to the Pirates canal for a swim and then to the various cenotes. Along the journey Hugo explained us everything about the lagoon and its cenotes. Both guys are very friendly.

Lots of people on the boat. They didn’t actually sail, claiming inadequate wind…however, I think there were simply too many booked onboard for them to do so.

We always regulate the maximum capacity of our boats to deliver a good experience, and we do not overcrowd them as we are regulated by local authorities. Safety always comes first for us. About sailing, sometimes wind conditions are not enough and we must adapt the activity. The lake itself is truly beautiful, making swimming and enjoying the scenery a worthwhile experience and earning it a 1-star rating. An additional star is deserved for the attentive and polite crew, who were generous in their manners. Another star goes to the facilities and personnel, who demonstrated kindness and professionalism.
However, I cannot give a full 5-star rating due to the poor condition of the boats. We chose the sailing experience because it promises romance, peace, and the charm of moving with the wind. Unfortunately, this was not the case. During the trip, we relied on the noisy outboard engine for about 95% of the time, which malfunctioned and broke down in the middle of the journey.
I strongly recommend that this company invests in proper maintenance and training for their boats and crew to improve safety and customer satisfaction.

Most of the tours in Bacalar are quite standard and it really is the captains/guides and the boats that make the difference. I had excellent captains - Angelo and David - who were competent at managing the sailboat, knowledgeable and great at bringing the group together. The sailboat was also in good shape

It was a very good tour. 3 hours in total. We got to swim a bit. It was also very informative. Hadi’s and David were our captain and guide and they were very nice and also gave us a lot of recs for restaurants and other things to do in the area.

Weather forecast was thunderstorms, but luckily we had the most perfect day out in the sun. What beautiful clear FRESH water! Really nice to swim in, we didn’t want to get out. Valentino and Valles our guides we’re super nice and took their time to explain the history and ecosystem. They couldn’t have done a better job! 10/10 recommend.

We had an amazing boat trip in Bacalar! We sailed through the stunning Pirate Passage, cenotes and bird island while enjoying delicious fruit and refreshing beer along the way. Very affordable trip around the lagoon with water, beers and juice on offer with some fruits. The stops on the trip were great, staff were amazingly friendly! Hector and his colleague were fantastic! The spot where the boats leave from is really cool! A bit old but still functional. It has bars, restaurants and you can use the kayaks after your trip! I highly recommend the coconut coffee!

Staffs really friendly. Always attentive if someone need something. Perfect activity to do boat and chill in beautiful water. But be awair, sunscreen is not allow so put a shirt because you can easily have a sunburn after a 3 hours ride.

Not sure of the super glowing reviews… it’s not bad but it’s also a pretty basic experience and it seems like there are a lot more interesting options out there. Pros: Very chill team, clearly knows how to sail, interesting and cool experience being on a sail boat, two pretty swim stops. Otherwise: really just depends on the experience you’re looking for. I was hoping for a more informative experience of the lagoon. Our guide also gave us some key highlights, especially interesting was the black cenote, but for the most part we just sat and looked around quietly or talked amongst the group. The snack includes a few pieces of cantaloupe in a Tupperware - kid snack style :) If you have never been on a sail boat - it’s not the usual chill boat experience, it tilts quite heavily for part of the ride so you have to work your core to stay straight. The stairs to go in and out of the boat into the water are also not easy for people who are not fit or on the heavier side.

Great experience with David and Luis. We had a lot of time for swimming, enjoying cenotes, and the laguna ...the only thing: there was no wind!!
It was also very good to have the possibility to stay at this place for the afternoon enjoying jumping from the pier.

Excellent tour with David and Fernando! Very well organized from start to finish, everything as promised- swimming opportunities, delicious snacks and drinks, and lots of great information as we sailed around the beautiful lagoon! We had two kids aged 8 and 11 and it was great for them too. Wonderful guides and service!

30 mins late to depart. The 'Captain' couldn't get what was apparently, his own boat, to sail, despite extremely good winds... which he even said about, as we left the dock.
So after another 30 mins, back to the dock to change to a smaller boat. Managed to get it sailing, briefly, but still gave up and just used the outboard motor!
We booked to go sailing. Could have done the same trip for half the price in a regular boat.

We really love this tour company. The best is you can enjoy the laguna with no rush with a very small group. Tour guides were amazing, nice and informative. You have enough time to swim and They have local beers and treats for you during the sailing.

One our most memorable days sailing with Captain Luis & 1st Mate Sebastien. We sailed almost the whole lagoon and made a couple of stops to explore the pirate channel and then the south end of the lagoon. Enjoyed every minute of it. Thanks DayTrip Bacalar for a wonderful tour with your company.

The tour was so great : Armando and Thymothy mixed history, facts about the Laguna and its particularities as well as funny stories. They took real good care is all of us wether it is to help love around the sailing boat, to keep our things safe and dry, to help us get in and out, make sure we stayed hydrated. We had plenty of bathing time. The drinks were delicious. The healthy snacks as well.
We really had a great afternoon and they both really added to it. I highly recommend the tour and them in particular !

This sailboat tour was such an amazing experience. We visited several cenotes, were able to jump out of the boat at different times to go swim and explore the area, and relax on the boat with fresh juice, fruit, and beer. Our tour guides, David and Abraham, did an amazing job at making the tour enjoyable and accommodating. I would recommend this tour to future travelers.

A 3-hour trip over a stunning lake, including drinks, fruit and two lovely swim breaks. What’s not to love? This was definitely the highlight of our visit to Bacalar. The lake has many amazing sights, from the history-laden Pirates’ Channel to Bird Island and the cenotes. Our crew members Abraham and David were incredibly nice and made sure everyone was happy and well cared for. They had many cool stories about the lake and the surrounding region and were happy to share both these and personal stories. I cannot recommend taking a trip with them enough.

Realy bad!! I am in Mexico now and never never never booked a sailing tour with Viator. When I arrived in my hotel late in the evening en opened my mailbox I saw a confirmation of something i have never booked. It was a conformation of a sailingtour at 15.00 o clock that day while i was not even in the neighbourhood. Now they are not willing to listen to me and will not refund the money the toon of my creditcard!!! They can also see that i NEVER showed up for any sailingtour! They steel your money!!

We loved the swimming spots from Adrian and the explanation. Plus they explained the history of blzck cenote. Fruit and the beer were nice add on. The boat was calm. We loved this tour and highly recommend it.
