Our driver was on time for the 2 hour journey to Petra. While he did everything required of him, he didn’t do any more than he had to and was quite surly. Our local guide Mohammed on the other hand was just amazing. He was so passionate about Petra and his knowledge was amazing. Unfortunately the heat, 42C, became too much for me and I was unable to enjoy the full experience of Petra. Our guide was so disappointed that we were unable to do the full tour, but lined up with my husband in the sun for 1-1/2 hours to get us into a golf buggy to get out. I can’t speak highly enough of him. We chose not to do the lunch and as we were on a shore excursion and headed back to the ship, arriving around 3pm. Had we been in a coach tour, I’d have had to wait around for several hours. Money we’ll spent.

The driver/ guide Muhat was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of information on the drive from Aqaba to Petra. The lunch was lovely with lots of choices. Our Petra guide Muhammed could not have been any better. His knowledge of Petra history, of the Nabateans, of their Gods, the intricacies of the city were more than we could have ever hoped for.

Aqaba was a cruise stop for a day and we were met by our driver, Ahmed. He drove us directly to Petra and answered our questions about Jordan. (we decided to skip the lunch.) We were met by our guide Sami, who did an excellent job educating us about the fabulous area. He really cared about this world heritage site AND WAS WONDERFUL TO LEARN FROM.
Red Rocks Tours kept in touch right up to getting in their privater vehicle. The cost for a private tour with 2 people was 20% less than taking a bus from the cruise line and cut out several hours of driving time.

Petra is an amazing creation of human civilization. We had the private tour, my husband and I was driven to Petra by a driver that had a hard time speaking English, he tried. Our VIATOR tour guide was a slick Bedouin, he only showed us the Treasury, very distracted by the crowd as well his Bedouin friends. I had to pay him extra to guide me to see more of the place. He was supposed to spend 2hours of guided tour but he only spent about 30 minutes. All in all it was the experience of seeing the wonders of Petra that I will remember and nuisance of having to deal with the smell of the donkey and camels’ feces, swarms of flies, the conniving Bedouins, and very expensive tour that was far below my expectations.

First sighting of The Treasury. The heat and the uphill walk back was sickening. There should be provision to take a buggy back without standing in more heat for another hour at least.

Breathtaking views and incredible histories from start of the Siq to the Treasury and on to the Roman ruins. Easy walking roads throughout. Our guides are very knowledgeable and articulate to relate historic points.

Once in a lifetime opportunity to see Petra. Enjoyed the experience, however, we waited an hour for 2 people that never showed. If we would have gone we then originally planned we would have arrived before the crowds in Petra.

I contacted the tour operator as soon as we booked. He was great. Our driver for the day to Petra was incredible and he stopped along the way to make sure we had great photo opps. Upon reaching Petra they handed us over to a Petra specific guide who helped us negotiate a camel ride for 4 people! We had the best day and after drive back to Aquaba for some souvenir shopping.
Our biggest concern was time as we were on a cruise ship and had to be back- this tour operator was incredibly helpful and made it a truly perfect day!

I'm on a 111 day world cruise.. I have already done 79 days. Petra has been by far the highlight of the cruise. Over 1,200 people on the ship used the cruise ships excursion package to reach Petra.. my friend and I with a handful of others used Viator. We had the most fun, got the best photos and the best life long experience that was offered by Vitor. We got there before the crowds and got the best 1 on 1 feeling.

Our driver Firsas was excellent. Friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our tour of The Lost City … incredible. Our tour guide at the Lost City cut the tour short…kept alluding to our group being “too tired”. We were not but he may have been.
After Petra our driver offered to take us to Wadi Rum on the way back to the ship. A bonus!

Excellent tour of Petra with a very knowledgeable guide! Great lunch too. We are over 60 and fit. We had no desire to walk the entire complex, so this was perfect for us. We walked the Siq and explored the Treasury area. If you are young, fit, and want to see the entire complex this is not for you because of the time constraints.

The tour was wonderful and very well organized. The communication before the tour was smooth. We were picked up by the driver at the port, had a very nice limousine just for the three of us, the driver spoke English and was very attentive. In Petra, the German speaking guide was waiting for us and guided us through the site, patiently explained and took pictures for us. The lunch was also delicious. Definitely recommend the tour!

The driver had to wait an hour for me because of immigration regulations he was pleasant and he stopped on the way 3 times to get me water cookies tea he was on time he was so proffesional the tour guide in petra is a teacher so he is extraordinarily knoledgeable about the history of petra he was also extraordinary overall although it is a difficult excursion it was managed with the outmost taste efficiency and proficiency i highly recommend it

The private tour of Petra was the best decision we made about visiting Petra. We choose this agency/ tour based on the reviews they had online, and I am glad we did that. This is the tour to go to if you want to be well taken care of, if you want to enjoy Petra without feeling exhausted at the end of the day, and especially if you have mobility issues.
First of all, Radwan from the agency immediately upon reservation contacted me to give me info and support on organizing a golf cart for my mother while in Petra, as she cannot walk long distances.
We arrived in Aqaba port on a cruise ship and had the driver pick us up right in front of the ship exit, at the ship terminal.
Saleh, the driver was punctual and speaks good English. He was very kind and smiling all the time; he took personal attention to ensure we have good time on the road, at lunch and around Petra.
We had an amazing guide, Jihad, who is fluent in English, very knowledgable on Petra and on top of that made fabulous pictures of us!
Radwan from the agency was constantly following up with both the driver and the guide to ensure we had a smooth experience.
If you want to see Petra in the best possible way, this is the tour and the agency to go with!

We took a private tour of Petra when our cruise ship was in port. What a fantastic way to see this amazing site. The tour was personal with a great guide and driver. Our guide, Rama was absolutely the best. His knowledge and enthusiasm was amazing. His spirit was infectious. We had such a great time with a lot of laughter. He also took fantastic photos. Taxi driver was prompt, friendly and tried to enhance our experience. The guide was perfunctory, spent most of the time on the phone, and kept stopping without a purpose or explanation so "there wasn't enough time" meaning we visited half the sites on our own.
Lunch was ample and tasty.

There are many tour companies and tour guides...some better than others. However, what is unique and stands out is when a tour company can adapt to unforeseen circumstances to assure you the best possible tour. This was the case for us and the reason I highly recommend this tour. Our Cruise ship was late to port. The tour operator adapted the schedule, was on time, arranged for alternate meals during the tour and assured our driver stayed late so we could take advantage of all available time!...truly a 5 star experience!...Highly recommended!!!

Our driver met us at the dock and drove us to Petra, stopping partway there at a store that carries goods made by local women at a cooperative started by Queen Noor Lisa Halaby, who is still revered there. At Petra, we were turned over to a local guide, who loaded us into a 2-person carriage so we could get down the passage. I think he walked the distance at about the same speed. Please, believe all the stories they tell you about the carriage ride and how dangerous it is. Pedestrians, however, are equally at risk as the carriages careen down the passageway or back up again. It was a very windy day with lots of dust, and I needed a scarf wound around my nose and mouth to be able to survive. Petra itself is every bit as wonderful as it's said to be. However, we saw only a little of it due to heat and limited time. When we got back to the top, our driver was ready to take us to the buffet lunch that was included. If you have the choice, take something to eat for lunch and skip the buffet - it would give you at least another hour in Petra. The driver got us back to the ship in time for our sailing. Very nice young man, married with a 4-year-old son. We asked to see pictures and the boy is so adorable!
This is an excellent way to see Petra if you have mobility issues, as we did, or if you don't want to be herded around with a large group. Highly recommended!

This was a really satisfying tour. My wife and I had always wanted to see Petra and our tour provided an insightful and comfortable way to do it. We were met at the port one step away from the ship by the representative and taken to the car and driver that drove us to Petra approx. 2 hours. The ride was comfortable and our driver pointed out a number of intersting things during the ride. Once we arrived at the site, we were given our tickets by the driver who then introduced us to our guide. The walk to the Treasury building that is often used as a picture for the site took about an hour. Our guide stopped along the way to show us many of the antiquities. He was pleasant and his delivery of the information was easy to follow. The sights along the walk to the Treasury building were spectacular and well worth the long trek to the site. Viator, in selecting this company for our tour, made a great decision! The experience was awe inspiring.

Great tour but chose time of year wisely - not Summer. Temps over 100 and sun blazing. Walk each way down and back up path to temple around an hour with rickety horse carriages racing up and down the path crowding you out and vendors with cheap junky items selling their wares. We had a GREAT private tour guide. Would have liked to do extended walk about it but was way too hot for most to endure. Additional horseback ride on Arabians, challanging racey and definitely not for any but good riders. Camel rides near temple. Side trip to Wadi Run very nice kind of like Momument Valley in USA and bumpy back of truck tour if you are really sturdy enough.
