Lovely tour with Anatoly who shared lots of interesting stories and facts about this stunning town. Great way to learn about the town's long history.
Leisurely, informative and easy walking tour of Annecy with a wonderful guide in Anatol. Anatol took me through the highlights of the city - he knew the history of Annecy very well - and what you think is the picture postcard building in the canal turns out to have been a prison for some 500 years. You imagine quite a different Annecy at the end and understand it from the days of the King of Sardinia right through to 1944 and the end of the war. It was brilliant. Highly recommend. And Anatol is a great conversationalist, easy to spend time with, and very engaging. Highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants a 2 hour rundown of Annecy so they understand the city more. Inside the cathedrals and churches was awe-inspiring. Thank you Anatol.. may the force be with you.
We had such a nice time with Anatol. Very knowledgeable about the city and its history. Along with architectural details about the buildings we visited. It was only my wife and I so it made it even better. Glad we did this to be able to fall in love with the city of Annecy
We have taken many tours like this in many countries and we look for two things in a guide. The first is to what degree does the guide know relevant history and interesting stories....the depth of the guide's knowledge. The second is the degree to which this person is pleasant and fun with whom to spend time. Anatol was a 10 on a 10 scale on both counts. He knows history, he can tell it in interesting stories and with great enthusiasm. He is also a delightful young man with an easy contagious laugh and is fun with whom to spend time. He's just a nice guy and I suspect my wife and I will be long time friends with him and will see him again....perhaps when he visits the USA.
Anatoly is an excellent guide. He knows Annecy’s history cold and selects sites around the city to illustrate its culture, history, economy and daily life. He’s a likeable guy with an infectious laugh. I was very lucky that he was my guide
The tour worked perfectly for me as I was looking for a short tour in Annecy which covered most of the spots in a short time. Anatol was a nice guy. He was friendly, helpful and flexible. He explained the history very well, took pictures and recommended some local delicacies. He also offered help with logistics before and after the tour. The tour was arranged in such a way that there was sufficient time to enjoy the spot, take pictures and know its historical significance. I had a good experience in Annecy. I will definitely recommend this tour.
Anatol was a fantastic guide! He was super knowledgeable, thoughtful and funny! It was very valuable going on this tour and learning from a local about the area especially if you don't speak French. I would for sure do this again!
