This was such an incredibly authentic cooking opportunity. Our hosts Antonio and Philip were extremely hospitable and informative during this experience. We prepared bread and Portuguese traditional stew, which was so delicious. As my husband is a huge cook, he was completely immersed! The site of the experience is simply breathtaking. I would strongly recommend this to others. Enjoy.

Had a great time on both Pro Island Tours. I would warn people not to eat before the cooking class! It was big fun and their people are great.

Antonio and Phillip were amazing to spend the afternoon with. They were so warm and welcoming. We made bread, and authentic Alcatra. It was simply delicious. To pass the time we chatted and played games. On our way home Antonio went out of his way to show us an amazing site. On my next visit I will certainly book another tour.

My husband and I were highly display inter in this experience. We were picked up at our hotel and driven directly to the cooking cottage. No scenic tour. We were expecting to make the typical Terceira Alcatra beef stew but instead chicken was used to save”time”. The instruction given to make the meal was minimal with no history of the dish etc. while the meal was cooking some of our fellow passengers played a game but it was extremely boring and a waste of time. A very small sampling of cheese was put out and we were offered cheap wine from a box. Definitely not worth over one hundred US dollars. Total rip-off.

Thank you very much for your review, it is always nice to get cosntructive reviews, so we can cosntantly better our service , i feel bad that you booked a tour that was not what you wanted, and did not read the discription of the tour wich says we pick you up go to the place where we do the cooking class and after eating we drop you of, it does not say any where that we drive you arround like on a scenic tour, although we did drive up one way and down another way so you could see diferent roads, as far as the alcatra making and history it was explained to you, and also told you that we would use chicken to be faster so you did not have to wait 4 hrs for the meat to cook, because the making is the same the only difference is the meat, but your husband knows all about it because we was the one doing everything because from the first moment you had no interest in participating, the other 4 people loved it and had a lot of fun, i have to just clarify a couple things so maybe you will feel better about the whole thing, we use box wine because the wine is of good quality and does not oxidate, like opening a bottle and drinking only half, the rest is no longer good the next day, in Portugal all the good winerys are boxing wine for several reasons and that beeing one of them, you and your husband did not complain about the wine and drank as much as you could, even said sure i will have some more im not driving, as far as the game your husband had a lot of fun and the other ladys also, you didnt want to play, i am so sorry if you were having a bad day prior to the tour and for that reason didn´t apreciate anything done for you.
i hope you can find some tours to meet your standards and sorry we couldn´t do it.

The people were great as was the food we cooked. Antonio was great he went out of his way to show us around the island which was not included in the tour after the cooking class even offered to take us to the airport when we needed to go. Definitely recommend Pro island tours to anyone visiting Pico.

We had a great day with Pro Island tours at the park where we made bread, a traditional Portuguese dish,Alcatra, and a dessert. We played a board game while we waited for our food cooking in the old school stone oven and it was a very fun light hearted time. Money very well spent. Will do it on our next visit!!!!!
