Desert castles and wetlands reserve

Visiting three castles/forts in the middle of the desert gives visitors a sense of the geographical challenges those who came before us encountered, especially when you figure out you are very close to the borders of Iraq and Saudi Arabia. A deep appreciation for the building and paintings of these structures is understood. A little more information inside each building would have been appreciated. As for the wetlands reserve, no animals could be seen. One or two birds flew overhead, but that was all. It would have been nice to know the best season for visiting this preserve, supposedly it is springtime. There was good information inside this center before visitors made their way outside to look for the animals and birds identified .

Anas was a wonderful guide. His English was excellent and he was very accommodating. The castles were interesting and manageable, and the Azraq Wetland Reserve was the perfect site for my birdwatching husband.

The information regarding this tour is misleading. It is not a tour, but rather it consists of a driver who transports you to the sites. He did not provide us w knowledge of the region or the sites. You would be better off simply hiring a driver that can be arranged by your hotel and is less costly.

Driver only who didn’t know where he was going

Driver was nice and on time. However, he had never been to either the desert castles or the wetland reserve. In fact, he got lost and we were making circles in back streets in some small town off the highway. He had no water do he had to stop to buy some. And he offered no additional information on where we were going.

Los castillos están bien, sobre todo los dos primeros. La reserva no merece la pena, hay que pagar alli 8JD y no lo vale. El conductor muy amable y profesional.
