Wow!
We were treated to a masterclass in WWI history today, delivered by the incredibly enthusiastic and knowledgeable Alison.
Our tour was thoughtfully tailored to our interests, focusing on Australia’s involvement and battles during the WW1. Alison provided balanced insights and engaging discussions that considered all perspectives, making the experience both informative and deeply thought-provoking.
The entire day was personalised to our wishes, and nothing felt rushed or generic.
We would highly recommend Alison to anyone seeking an unforgettable and meaningful experience exploring the Western Front battlefields.
Amazing experience — thank you again, Alison!

If you want a detailed explanation of WW1 on the Somme, then this tour is a must. Our guide John has a lot of knowledge of the war and he researches family members and shares the details with you, if you want them.

Whilst we were interested in Australian focus we asked for & were provided with balanced perspective of all nations involved, including Germany.
Tour educated on the scope of the engagement & we were shocked by how many lives were lost in fighting over such a small region of farmland.
Monash Centre a must see.
Thank you Alison for your insights & factual analysis.

This is a confronting but important learning experience for anyone. For an Australian it is especially so….
Alison is warm, well informed, patient and flexible. She knows the facts but also understands the importance and complexity of context and is able to reflect on its impact.
Alison researched our young neighbour who died at Pozieres in 1916. That was incredibly important for us and for others in our inner urban Melbourne village. We were able to lay a small posy where his name is recorded. He has no known grave….
Merci beaucoup Alison for a day we will never forget.
Highly recommended…

Allison was amazing, her knowledge of the area and histoical events was excellent. Allison had researched my great uncle Micheal Quinn and worked the tour around the Australian soldiers and where Michael had served. We could not have asked for more.

We had a great time with Alison.
She is incredibly knowledgeable and very accommodating, happy to inform and answer questions as she goes. We loved how down to earth yet expert she is, and she clearly designed our tour around our own cultural interests.
Brava!
We cannot recommend her more highly ... thank you for a wonderful, informative, absorbing day!

This tour is a must do if you are intending on visiting the area. John's knowledge and understanding of the events that happened in this area during WWI (and before) is second to none. He was able to explain and add context to the battlefields and events. He was more than accommodating and flexible in where we went. He also did research on a personal family level and answered some questions we had about the service of my grandfather here. Thanks John for a great tour and day.
