I was very disappointed with the whole experience. First driver picked me an hour late, then when along the city for an hour more, picking other guests. Once we arrived at the camp, he drove 6 of us into the safari for like Five minutes and took us off in the dessert. Driver claims there was a bad tire and he is going to head back to the camp, fix it and return to pick us in 10-15 minutes. We all stood in the middle of nowhere almost 50 minutes, when we saw him return to a nearby dune with a new group of people. Drop them off and rushed to us and drove us back to the camp and yet picked another group and rush back into the dessert again. What about our safari dune experience ? What did we come here to do ? Next the camel ride, the guys say included in our package is a ring like 90 seconds with getting on & off the camel. 4x4 vehicle wanted extra money to start with and pretends not to understand further English. While seated for dance & dinner, I was told my package doesn’t include the sofa seating; fine moved me to the floor. Tea, Coffee, Soft drinks were not given on arrival, only when dinner was open at 7:45pm Dinner was clearly mentioned BBQ buffet, gave only one chunk piece of chicken and everything else was vegetarian. Food had lots of sand in it too; horrible Performance was okie, but there wasn’t the belly dance show !! All in All a bad experience, NOT what I had read and bought the package and definitely not the kinda tour I had expected nor would recommend. I have contacted Viator operators via WhatsApp and await my refund; which is also strange, as their platform have many operators working. One I was in touched constantly of the whole above experience and treatment received at the tour. He claims a full refund is on the way in 24hours. I waited 48hours and wrote back again, as there wasn’t any updates. The next operator asking for 72hours with a partial refund, under the same reference and claims. Now 96hours have gone by and still no one has gotten in touch; WAITING Other three guests who joined me in the same pick up vehicle, have also filed a similar complaint with their provider and expected refund for this tour / tour operator I did appreciate it Viator to be more responsive and await to hear back at the soonest. Thank you

We were picked up at our hotel 2 hours after the scheduled pick up time to start with. We drove almost 2 hours to the location in the desert, we were never told the drive would be that far. We were told we would be driven in a Toyota Land Cruiser or Lexus 4X4 or similar. We were picked up in a mini van. Crammed in with 5 other people. When we arrived we were approached by the falcon handler and told to put my arm out. I did and the talons sliced my arm and I bled profusely. There was no first aid offered in fact I was told both my wife and I owed the handler 35 AED for what was advertised as part of the package we purchased. We were not told before the handler approached us only after my arm had been sliced by the bird. We were than directed to a pen where a camel was and were told we would have twenty seconds to take photos with the camel or pay 50 AED for a camel ride. We refused and were told to go into the dining area and have some warm water. No sodas or other refreshment were offered unless we purchased a cold drink or juice. We fortunately had each brought a bottle of water with us. As we sat down another salesman came over and explained to us that they were expecting over 100 guest tonight and if we did not want to wait till all the VIPs were fed we would have to purchase a VIP pass at 50 AED each he explained that the sodas for people that did not have a VIP pass sodas were available after 7:45 pm. We refused and sat and waited over 1 hour for the dance show and dinner to start. There were only a total of maybe twenty four total people in attendance. After the dancing we were told we could get the food. The dinner was a small cube of chicken , a hot dog, rice and pasta and salad that was inedible. This was the unending Arabian buffet! I would not have served this to my dog. I went to the area where sodas were supposed to be available and selected 2 cans of soda and was told by the vendor soda is not included I would need to purchase the sodas. The vendors of juice , photos, deserts all were constantly harassing us to buy something. One of these people confessed to us his criminal past and wanted us to help him as he was trying to go legit! We were finally taken out for the four wheel drive "Dune Bashing" in a toyota 4 wheel drive. The entire Dune Bashing experience lasted 4 minutes. I timed it with my watch. I plan to dispute the charges with my credit card company. So in summary a total day wasted for inedible food and a four minute drive in the dunes. I plan to report this to Abu Dhabi tourism board.

Don’t go desert safari

The driver is definitely awesome, but however 2 stars is because I thought it wouldve been a more private experience, but it was a 1.5 hours trip to a “Desert Safari” place for a 5 minutes of sand dune car ride, a camel ride with only 2 camels available for photos but couple hundreds of people queuing up for it, food is not terrible but there is 2 thousands ppl there and most of the services you have to pay to experience. If you want a better and more private experience dont bother to go, if you want cheap you are definitely getting what you paid for. However wouldn’t recommend anyone to come to this stupid place.

2.5hr drive to arrive at the desert camp for a 5min 4x4 sand dune experience, 1000 people crammed in the camp to eat dinner and watch a show. Don’t waste you time booking this, I did the tour from Dubai a few years ago it was excellent don’t do this from Abu Dhabi.

L’organisateur a changé l’horaire et le point de rdv à la dernière minute sans me laisser le temps de m’en apercevoir. Du coup ai attendu plus d’une heure sous un soleil de plomb sans que personne me prenne en charge! 😡 Je demande des excuses et le remboursement complet des frais que j’avais engagés.
