Great Self-Guided Tour
This was a great way to visit the Colosseum. The app was just OK - It did have some glitches and flaws but for the most part, we were able to get some good information while using it. It was easy to find the meeting spot and the people at the meeting point were very helpful in explaining where to go.

Amazing tour!
We took a late afternoon tour of the colosseum to beat the noon heat and it definitely worked. By 3pm the sun had moved enough on the horizon to provide shadows in the forum and palatine hill area. Our guide Angela was super sweet, funny and knowledgeable. She made sure we got ample water and shade breaks. We thoroughly enjoyed the guided tour. Colosseum with arena access is definitely the way to go! The architecture and history is mind blowing. Highly recommended.

A must
The tour guide was great! He even gave us virtual glasses to see what the colosseum would have looked like restored. Very knowledgable and funny. It is a must!

Easy way to see the colosseum.
This three hour tour could have probably been cut down to two. However it was really nice to have a tour guide manage our entrance and skip the line into all the colosseum entrances. Our guide gave good history and information. We went to paladins hill and the forum after the colosseum. Bring water as it is a long tour and there is no water break built in.

Our tour guide Milan was awesome. He spoke very good English and was a very kind, nice easy going guy. We came away very happy with our experience and new knowledge about the colosseum. It was a super hot day and he was really mindful of thinking where best to take us knowing where we'd get a breeze/ shade which made it all the more enjoyable!

Good tour of the Forum and colosseum. The small group gives you time to ask questions and not feel rushed.
Gerard our guide was very knowledgeable and easy going.

Amazing!!
There aren’t enough words to describe how amazing this experience was!! The Colosseum was as beautiful in person as it was in the pictures and videos we had viewed prior to the trip. It’s an absolute can’t miss but of course, keep in mind it will be crowded no matter when you go, lol! It’s still worth the time and effort. And if you can stay until sunset, you get some amazing pictures!

Informative tour
The tour was very informative. The guide, Francesca, was very knowledgeable. She also did her best to keep us in the shade as it was very hot. I was disappointed that the guide couldn't accompany us into the Colosseum because when we went in we saw other groups with their guides. Not sure what the issue was with the Viator tour guides.

I highly recommend this tour. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and really brought the history to life. Exploring the Colosseum and Roman Forum in a small group made a huge difference because it felt so much more personalized.

Tour guide was great! She...
Tour guide was great! She kept us in the shade as much as possible and gave great ideas for pictures. She was full of knowledge as well. Advice- do the tour at 8:30. We were the second group in when it opened at 9:00 and by the time we got off of Palentine Hill, it was crammed with people! Line up to get in looked at least an hour long. Colosseum was SO crowded but worth it!

Don’t miss this tour!
When you’re in Rome, the Colosseum is a must see. I would highly recommend taking this tour and taking advantage of visiting this amazing archaeological site with a knowledgeable guide. The unexpected surprise on this tour was visiting the Palantine Hill, which no one in our group expected to be as amazing and interesting as it was and we’re so glad we got to see it.!
