Up, up and away with Marrakech Dream Ballooning

Early start - we were picked up at 5am from the hotel. It’s a 45 minute drive (suv) to the Marrakech Dream Ballooning site where we were greeted and offered Moroccan tea. We were then driven another fifteen minutes or so to the launch site. Super exciting where we watched the balloon inflate and the team prepare for take off as it was starting to get light. There were four compartments in the balloon basket and then a central area for the pilot. As the balloon was inflating the basket was on its side and then of course once it is almost fully inflated the basket rights itself. There are foot and hand holds and the ground team assist with the climb in. We had a brief safety briefing about landing position and then we were off suddenly floating on the sky and drifting with the wind. I really do not like heights and sudden drops but this was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had. I feel confident in saying that anyone with vertigo shouldn’t worry too much about giving this a go. Tge sides of the basket are high enough to give you a feeling of safety and maybe just don’t look directly onwards and all will be well ! The group of four of us all really enjoyed it just an awesome experience start to finish. Our pilot Asun (spelling.) was amazing. The landing was a bit rough but the ground team were there to steady the basket and secure the balloon. We were in the air for probably around an hour. We were taken by suv back to base for a Berber breakfast - pasties breads, boiled eggs fruit tea coffee and bottled water. We were back at the hotel for around 930am. Awesome experience and not be missed - great value for money.

Best experience

This was the highlight of my trip: from Pick up to drop off it was seemless. The journey to the area they do the paragliding is a bit far but a scenic view up the mountain. The guy I did it with was the best, he asked if I easily get scared and I said no and that was the beginning of the best ride ever. No complaint at all, Recommend this group and activity.☺️

I enjoyed the experience....

I enjoyed the experience. I was a little worried because I hadn’t received the trip details, but the team sent them via WhatsApp at around 17:30 the day before. Captain Noor was warm and experienced. She took her time explaining everything and even took personalized photos of everyone on board. That thoughtful touch made the experience especially memorable.

Wow; What an experience! Flawless pickup, provided coffee or tea in the morning. An UNFORGETTABLE balloon ride with the smoothest landing ever. Followed by a complete berber breakfast spread. 10/10 don't hesitate. So glad we booked this excursion. The driver, ground crew and pilot Yanis were all amazing!

Up, up and away; what a way to start day.

Magical. This was a bucket list for me. As we arrived at the launch site, a guys was waving at our driver. An exchanged on Arabic ensued and we were told that the site was moved due to winds. We raced across the desert and had to run as the balloon was ready to lift off and the sun was coming up. Within seconds we were up and climbed quickly. We were one of at least two dozen balloons. We climbed, dropped and climbed again. It was fantastic. Note: Don't leave this to your last day as wind speeds are monitored and your ride - like mine the day before was - could be cancelled without much warning. My companions that did not go were regretting skipping this.

First flight experience!

Me and my daughter booked the golden first flight experience for our first morning in Morocco and it was incredible! We were picked up from our accommodation shortly after 5am and headed to the flight destination. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with coffee/tea prior to taking off. The experience itself was indescribable. We went up into the sky as the sun was rising with plenty of other hot air balloons. When the ride was over, we were welcomed with a traditional Berber breakfast. A core memory created with my daughter - thank you so much!

Ballooning Marrakech

We travelled in August so was lovely and warm, may want a second layer out of peak season. Wear closed shoes, we landed in a field full of spiky plants! Pick up was on time, journey wasn’t too long. Upon arrival you’ll be offered a chance to buy drone footage of your trip, priced about £25, whilst having a cup of Moroccan tea or coffee. Flight was nearly an hour. It was stunning and peaceful, staff and pilot were all friendly. You don’t have to help putting balloon up or down like you do most places in England, which added to the experience in the UK when we went with Virgin. Breakfast was edible but not great. Our pickup was 0450 and we arrived back at hotel before 1000. Overall was great, worth the £100 each or so.

Sunrise on the Sahara

I booked this tour for my daughter and granddaughter and they had a fabulous experience. Nothing like a sunrise on the Sahara. A bit of additional information: hot air balloon tours are generally very early in the morning and weather sensitive - a somewhat fluid but doable situation. You will not know the exact pickup time until the night before because of the weather. Plus they may not be able to physically pick you up at your hotel because of road access issues. Very important to communicate with the Tour Agency to make certain you understand the exact pickup location and time. If you need assistance, ask your hotel to lend a hand.

Must do!!

Fantastic experience, felt like you were floating it was that smooth...even if your scared of heights like me it's a must!! They contact you the evening before to confirm your pick up point. Lovely atmosphere when you arrive at the camp with fires lit, warm drinks and biscuits whilst you wait. The sunrise was a experience we won't forget , wished we were up there for longer! Big thankyou to our pilot and his team for making it so smooth. The berber breakfast after landing was lovely. Very well organised and a must do!

Wow wow wow sunrise from a hot air balloon

Wow what an amazing start to your day watching the sun rise over the Atlas Mountains from a hot air balloon. Our pilot Tom was very experienced and made everyone feel safe from start to finish. The take off and landing were faultless. The communication was excellent prior and we were picked up from our hotel on time. We were greeted with a hot drink and biscuit prior to taking flight and had a lovely breakfast in the desert afterwards. No unnecessary waiting around, everything timed to perfection. I would 100% recommend booking with this company thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Highly recommend Happy Ballooning Marrakech

Brilliant from start to finish. Pick up arrived on time, we had coffee/tea before the flight. Then once on the balloon the whole experience was faultless - Tom our pilot was fantastic. A reassuring presence, informative and friendly. We had a very smooth landing - having been a bit apprehensive after stories we’d heard from other people who have taken hot air balloon rides (not in Marrakech). Lovely, simple local breakfast in breath taking surroundings. Highly recommend Happy Ballooning Marrakech!
