- Please note the standard guided tour contains approx. 300 stairs - Low Impact. If you have limited mobility there are daily mobility access tours available on request pre-booking is required please contact the supplier directly.
- Venue access is subject to availability at the time of your tour and can change up until tour departure time.
- Please arrive at the Welcome Centre 15 minutes prior to your tour time to adhere to check in and cloaking procedures. If you are more than 5 minutes late from the start time of your tour, your tour will be forfeited.
- Please check you have selected the correct language tour for the tour you want to experience the language in
- Infants under 5 are permitted on the 1 hour tour free of charge, however still require a ticket to be booked
- One Hour Tour including Tour & Dine please check in at the Welcome Centre on the lower concourse level ten minutes prior to your tour time
- Redeem tour & dine at House Canteen or Opera Bar between 11.30am-6pm on the day of the tour.
- Redeem tour & dine at Midden by Mark Olive between 11.30am-2.30pm, or 5-6pm on the day of the tour.
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 35 travelers

A perfect one hour long tour. There are steps to climb, but even the most challenged did just fine. Great insight and nuances not normally found. The highlight was sitting in two of the opera house’s.

If you're interested in learning about how the Sydney Opera House was built and why it was designed, this is a good tour. Just felt it was a little underwhelming considering it's one of Sydney's symbolic landmarks. Didn't really like the fact that you couldn't take pictures or record much of the inside. At least not when I did the tour. Think they should maybe spice it up a little like having a opera singer or orchestra performer specifically for tourist. 🤷🏾♂️

One thing is admiring the Sydney Opera House from the outside, but experiencing it from the inside and learning the history behind its construction is something completely different. Hearing the story, understanding the vision behind it, and seeing the details up close made me appreciate this iconic place even more. It was truly a memorable experience and absolutely worth it.

Wasn’t sure what to expect but this hour tour was lovely! Visiting Sydney for the first time we knew we wanted to go see the Opera House and yet I wasn’t sure on the need for a tour. Now I am. It was really interesting and informative. Perfect length of time. Carole, our guide, was the BEST! So bubbly and fun, so nice to see someone who truly enjoys their job.

Great visit. Was worried about the number of stairs to climb but this was actually no problem at all. Informative guide with a very dry sense of humour called Darryl. Nice guy just remember to make him taller in any sketches you draw.

Well worth it, don’t be put off with the 300 stairs, not all in one go and fairly gentle. Beautiful architecture and history. Imy, our tour guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. She has a good sense of humour which I enjoyed. The tour was fun, interesting and informative. I would definitely recommend this one.

A must-do tour in Sydney that is simply outstanding, well worth it!! It is just the right amount of time to learn about the history and the architecture, see the various theaters and appreciate the magnificent spaces. Our tour guide Emily was outstay and super considerate of some tour members needing to negotiate the steps..

Don't miss this opportunity to see the inside of the Opera House. There are lots of stairs so be prepared for that and standing the hour. It is well worth it for the insight on the building, history and seeing the beautiful inside. The view looking outside is amazing as well and of course only seen from there. I was in awe of just standing inside looking out. Awesome being inside this iconic building and learning the history.

The tour was very good and the guide was great, amazing! Would do again! Just the description of meeting point and box for ticket in the basement is not really good in the Viator App, lost some time for searching.

Too many stairs.
Too large a group.
An American was giving the tour which was an insult. There’s nothing more white Australian than the Sydney Opera House. Tour guides need to be Australian.
When you’re doing a tour of stolen land on which you have committed Genocide, using Americans is just adding insult to injury.

Great way to see the outside and inside of the opera house. Pleasant guide, well set up with microphone & headphones. But you won’t be able to see areas of the house off limits (the main auditorium for us) or, bizarrely, take any pictures inside. This kind of restriction is inexplicable in this day and age.

Enjoyed our time of the Opera House. Seeing the architecture from the inside looking out was very interesting, and we really appreciated our tour guides stories and historical information. It was great to sit inside a couple of the main concert halls and see how nice it is. Even though we did not see a concert, it was nice just to view this iconic piece of history.

The tour includes a large number of stairs so is not suitable for people who can’t manage them.
The group size is about 25 to 30 people but our guide used a microphone and head sets so hearing what she said was not a problem.
Although the tour does not go back stage and does not visit all venues if one or another are sensitive for some reason there is still a lot to see.
As the house is essentially closed to the public other than for tours it is easy to take photographs away from crowds!
The Guide knew all the best photo shots which made for some splendid images to help one to remember the tour.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly.

Wonderful tour of the opera house. Our guide was knowledgeable and fun. We enjoyed this experience and would recommend it for anyone. Their are alot of stairs to navigated.

As an “Architectural Tour” of the Sydney Oprah House, this experience focuses almost totally on historical design and construction techniques and the conflicts that arise between designers’ aesthetic wants and engineering absolutes. Bottom line, never done before designs saw groundbreaking engineering created to accomplish the construction of one of the most impressive structures built in the entire 20th century.
