Day Trips from Sydney to Sydney Fish Market (SFM)

Explore Sydney with a local guide on a private full-day tour that efficiently covers the highlights. See top destinations including the historic Rocks district, Sydney Harbour Bridge, and Sydney Opera House, and learn about the Aboriginal heritage and colonial history of Australia. You’ll also take in attractions such as the Royal Botanic Gardens and Mrs Macquarie’s Chair, stop at Bondi Beach for a walk and lunch, and more.

This private full-day tour blends Sydney's world-famous icons with the local charm of its most beautiful harbourside suburbs. Rather than a fixed group itinerary, your pace and stops are tailored to you — spend longer at the beach, linger over lunch at the markets, or adjust the route on the day. Beyond the usual tourist trail, from the North Shore's history to the South's rugged coastline.

Guided by a passionate hiker and photographer who has spent a lifetime in the Blue Mountains, this small-group day tour from Sydney goes where the tour buses don't. In a group of no more than 10, walk into the bush and find wild kangaroos grazing in Megalong Valley, then take real trails to lookouts most tours never reach. Want to push further on a longer, steeper stretch? You can. Want the shorter, easier path to the same view? You can do that too, and the group meets back up on the other side. Lunch is a proper Aussie pie with salad from Mountain High Pies, an award-winning Blue Mountains bakery, with around 20 varieties including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free. As dusk falls at Echo Point, enjoy a twilight spread of Shiraz, Brie and Danish Blue cheese, crackers, hummus and Australian sweets while Sulphur-Crested Cockatoos dive off the escarpment to roost. Included, not an upsell. Roughly 10 hours door to door, this is a tour for those seeking some soft adventure in nature.

Walk beneath the Three Sisters into the Blue Mountains rainforest, with around 3 hours for an independent valley hike. Your guide explains the route and walks with you to the Giant Stairway handover point before you set off. Descend the Giant Stairway, follow Federal Pass towards the valley below Scenic World, then retrace your steps to Echo Point. The guide does not accompany the valley hike. Steep stairs and the demanding climb back require fit, confident walkers. Your guide confirms the return time and meeting point on the day. Rejoin the group for Katoomba Cascades, Cahill's Lookout and Leura, with free time to buy lunch. Water and snacks are included. Transport may be shared with Scenic World guests; hikers skip the rides and Katoomba town lunch stop. Visit order and timings vary. Minibus: fixed meeting-point pickup and Furama Darling Harbour drop-off. Mercedes-Benz: hotel pickup and drop-off within Sydney CBD. Rides and lunch are not included.
