Itinerary
This Golden Circle day trip meets in Reykjavik. Once in your vehicle, set off on Iceland’s Golden Circle circuit. A guide tells you about the ecosystem of the areas you visit during the day.
Your first stop, Kerid Crater, isn’t part of the regular Iceland Golden Circle adventures, but is well worth a stop. Enjoy a visit to the volcanic crater before moving on to see Strokkur geyser.
After Strokkur, stop at the stunning Gullfoss Falls and then head to Thingvellir National Park.
At the national park, learn about the park’s movement of its tectonic plates. Once your Iceland Golden Circle tour is over, it drops you back off in Reykjavik.

Tour guide Barbara had good energy, spoke clearly and was entertaining. Good balance of speaking when she needed to and was very informative about the places we went. All the sites were beautiful and magical. Would recommend this tour

The onboarding process at the port was disorganized and confusing. Multiple busses without any coordination. We almost missed our bus in spite of being at the site 30 minutes early because of the confusion.. This started off the tour with high stress. Putting that behind us, the tour was generally good. Our time in Husavik was very short and we could not see the "Eurovision" sites.

Great route to check out main iconic sites in 1 day. Washrooms and food are available at most stops.

Fantastic day visiting several places of interest. Plenty of time at each stop. Christy our guide was very knowledgeable

Staff was friendly and helped me catch another bus because my plane was delayed and I couldn't make my original pick up spot. The tour was easy, the locations were beautiful. There were rest stops with clean bathrooms and food along the way. Was a great way to spend a long layover.

Fairly easy walks, but generally on uneven surface. Beautiful views, well guided tour, while adequate time was provided for picture taking, and bathroom breaks, there is no time for lingering. Good value for the time, and places covered
Nicole_D, Aug 2026
Guide gives great detail and history of the sites and the country itself. Beautiful landscape and views.

Loved the crater and the waterfall!
The geyser was underwhelming. Long wait for a eye blink of an eruption. No pix, b/c not worth the wait to maybe get a shot.
The UNESCO site was dramatic, but not as expected. Had hoped to stand with one foot on each tetonic plate. Not sure where that idea came from, but not an option.
Anna, our guide, was delightful stopping early on for rest stop & awesome baked goods. She was extremely friendly and informative. 5 stars!

It’s advertised as introductory and it is. Staff are all friendly and helpful but the amount of time in most locations is too short - especially at the waterfall. If you are active and quick, it’s okay but those a little slower may not see as much

Thank you for your feedback and for your kind words about our staff. We are glad you found everyone friendly and helpful.
This tour is designed as an introductory Golden Circle experience covering several major attractions in one day, so the time at each stop has to be balanced across the full itinerary. We understand that guests who prefer a slower pace, or who need a little more time walking between viewpoints, may feel that some stops are short.
We appreciate your comments, especially regarding the waterfall.

Sunny our tour guide on the bus was EXCELLENT!!!!😀
Tour as described.
Excellent places to visit.
Good recommendations at each stop

This tour was amazing. Our guide was very knowledgeable. The scenery was otherworldly. We had an excellent time. 100% recommend this tour!

Bus Travel Iceland were great, I was joining the tour from a cruise, but was greatly delayed disembarking. Panicking that I would miss my pickup I messaged and they changed my pickup to the port. My luggage was able to go underneath the coach, so it was perfect and communication was great.
The tour itself was just spectacular. Marvin our guide was very informative and always open to questions. We visited three spots, the Almannagjá Gorge, where the tectonic plates meet, the Getser Centre and the Golden Waterfall. All in it took 71/2 hours. Take snacks and water. There are toilets at each of the stops and also a chance to have lunch.

Excellent tour. Our tour guide Andrea was brilliant and very informative She also has a beautiful singing voice.
Only problem was the air con didn't work on the bus, but this didn't spoil our day out. Would thoroughly recommend.

Well paced, orderly, communication from Bus Travel Iceland regarding meet-up and tour itineraries was flawless. Jeff, our tour guide did an excellent job.
Jennifer_A, Aug 2026
Long drive but worth it. The guide gave us plenty of time to experience each place we stopped. I highly recommend this tour.
Simoun_C, Aug 2026
A fun and informative experience. We were given ample time to visit and explore. All the places we stopped were highlights. We will definitely go with this outfit again and again. Very professional.
Wayne_C, Aug 2026
Great experience. Just be careful if you are picked up at the Cruise Terminal. The map from Viator shows meeting on the street outside the parking lot. However, the pickup point is in the parking lot.
websteririna, Aug 2026
The tour was excellent and informative. We saw 4 beauutiful sites. In addition to 3 listed sites, we also stopped at the big volcano crater with a beautiful lake. The guide was very good.

Darren was an amazing tour guide, knowledgeable, funny and truly loved sharing his knowledge with us. Aron drove us like a pro and kept us on time.
Robin_W, Aug 2026
The company was easy to work with! We had some tinny issues and they could not have been more accommodating. David was a great tour guide.
Cynthia_H, Jul 2026
We had a small group tour of the Golden Circle plus Kerid Crater with Siggi from BusTravel who was so funny and very knowledgeable about Iceland and was great to talk with and listen to. Greatly exceeded my expectations and was a very enjoyable and memorable tour. Thank you Siggi for the amazing day:)
Ciana_A, Jul 2026
Bus pick up and drop off was super easy, Sylvester was an excellent driver. Darren provided fun facts and jokes throughout the drive. Easy way to explore key sites and there was plenty of time at each stop. We packed a lunch but there was an opportunity to buy food at two locations and a restroom at each area.
Priyahans, Jul 2026
Very bad. I have been using Viator for the past 10 years and have 4 more upcoming ones. But on Golden circle tour, the tour was delayed from 8:30 to 10:30. The bus came only at 11:10. In all of the sites the bus parking was very far. We couldn’t see some of the main points in the sights. Like in Thingviller National park , the bus was parked very far and the guide didn’t give enough time for us to go and see the river passing in between the tectonic plates. The guide didn’t give us sufficient time to see the sights. Not the guides fault. Very poorly time managed. Very disappointed. Very rushed. Totally waste of money.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you for your feedback. The departure was changed from 08:00 to 10:30 two days before the tour, and our vehicle arrived at 11:04, four minutes after the pickup window. The advertised time was provided at each stop. At Þingvellir, guests walk between the two parking areas while visiting the park. The full site cannot be explored within a scheduled Golden Circle stop.

Very interesting tour, comfortable bus, but keep in mind that toilet on board is locked. Very interesting narrative from tour guide.
Nghi_N, Jul 2026
Initially missed the pick up since the guide was given incorrect pronounciation of my name. If the name is difficult to pronounce, he just could spell it out. Additionally, unlike other guides at that pick up location, he made no effort to look for the missing passenger.
At stops, he started talking/explaining without waiting for the whole 40+ people group. At times, only around 6-8 people standing near to him could hear.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you for your feedback. Our vehicle was present at the confirmed pickup location, but you did not approach the bus with your ticket. Our team also called and sent a message, but the call went to voicemail. To ensure you did not miss the tour, we arranged a taxi at our expense as a goodwill solution. We are sorry the pickup felt confusing, but it is not correct that no effort was made to locate or assist you.
Kimberley_S, Jul 2026
Tomas was very knowledgeable and fun to ride with. The day we went was very sunny and the coach a/c wasn’t working so great and it was cooler outside so when we went out to see the sights it was a little more comfortable. That would be the only thing otherwise it was great.
Frances_D, Jul 2026
Once we got onto the bus and started the tour everything was great. The only reason I gave this tour a 4 was because of the lack of information before the bus arrived. There was no clear signage or representative to meet us and tell us where to wait or when to expect the bus.
Thanks to Darren our guide and “the Bear” our driver our whole experience changed and we were very well treated. Darren told us so much about Iceland and the sites that we saw! And he was incredibly informative, entertaining, and truly cared that we all had a great experience. What started out as a miserable morning because of the mid-communication at the port turned out to be one of the best days we had in Iceland thanks to Darren and our driver!
Dianne_G, Jul 2026
Was an excellent tour got to see numerous sites of Iceland. There was a driver as well as an individual who narrated the tour as we went along highly recommend.
Marcia_N, Jul 2026
Our bus driver was very experienced! The tour stops were beautiful! It would have been nice to have a local guide with more history to Iceland instead of an American guide. The bus rides were long and it would have been nice to have more information about the country. We were near the front of the bus and it appeared that the tour guide napped on the longer drives. Note: polotivd have no place on a tour bus!
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed the beautiful stops and felt the driver was experienced. Our guides come from many countries, but all are trained, experienced and based in Iceland. We are sorry the commentary was not as informative as you expected and that the political discussion affected your experience.
lai_d, Jul 2026
Is a must tour to go, wonderful experience, I had a great day. Great service, a bit hassle to try to find the actual bus at the terminal, other than that everything is fine, me and other were running around to find the bus
Santiago_A, Jul 2026
It was doing well until the rain came. Worst of all, our bus broke down and got delayed for 3 hours!
Response from Host, Jul 2026
We are sorry the vehicle issue caused such a long delay and affected the rest of your day. Unexpected mechanical problems can happen, but we understand that waiting for a replacement was frustrating. Our team’s priority is to continue the tour safely once suitable transport is available. We regret that the disruption overshadowed what had otherwise been an enjoyable day.
