How often can you sit 10 feet away from hot lava? Our tour guide, Ian was engaging, knowledgeable and funny! Previously a school teacher, he presented the lava facts very well. Who knew you won't sink if stepped in lava? Loved this show! I highly recommend!

It was definitely a tourist trap - not awful, but if you do go, there is no reason to get the "premium" experience. The view actually looked better from the flood and not the balcony. There is a plexiglass-type wall in front that you have to stand up in order to get an un-obstructed view. Would probably be neat for kids.

We understand your disappointment with the balcony view and the barrier affecting your sightline. The Premium experience is intended to offer a different perspective along with additional elements beyond the seating, but we appreciate that the closer Classic seating may be preferable for guests who primarily want to experience the lava flow and its heat up close.
We also take your “tourist trap” comment seriously. Our aim is to create a genuinely educational and memorable experience centered around real molten lava, so we’re sorry that the value of the experience did not come across that way for you.

The full sensory experience - you can see and smell the lava and feel the heat. We also got to touch (and keep) a small piece of lava as part of our package. Although other facilities explain about a lava etc, this one enables you to experience it. It seemed quick because it was so interesting. The only hesitation I have is the location- unless you are part of a bus tour. We ordered a car thru Hreyfill but they did not even allocate us a car for over 15 minutes . However we saw public buses stopped across the parking area out front and the drivers were very kind explaining to us how best to get to Perlan. A shuttle bus would have been helpful.

Fascinating show about lava. MC had a strong French accent and spoke very rapidly. We could only understand about 40% of what he said. That was frustrating. Wish they had closed caption.

Although it's only an hour it was very awesome and educational. My wife and I enjoyed it very much. Of course the star of the show was the lava. Been trying to catch Kīlauea's eruption for many years and finally got to see a lava flow. It gave us something to do before our hotel check-in and with multiple show times, it can easily fit into most itineraries.

Very cool. Informative and viscerally amazing. I had the classic ticket, not premium. Classic sits closer to the Lava. Premium sits higher up a looks down on the action. Sitting close, you can really feel the heat off the lava. Pro tip: you can buy a drink and bring it into the theater. It was awesome to have a nice cold beer for the show. Our master of ceremonies, Neil, was great too!

Took taxi from ship dock and same picked us up after 10pm cost £80 return we went to 9pm show. Very detailed and entertaining we did the premium package with drink and lave gift. Lava hot and many aspects of it explained as it cooled.

Good demo of how lava forms and flows. I’m amazed how they have a furnace that can melt rock!! Show lasts about 1 1/2 hours.

We did this our first day in Reykjavik after a long night of travel. It was the perfect stop for our family. We could just chill out and take it in as our host walked us through some of the geological history of Iceland and showed us the amazing properties of lava as it cools. Highly recommend!
