Overview
Sail out to the island of Comino off the coast of Malta and get the chance to swim in the famed Blue Lagoon with this day cruise from Sliema. Wonderful experience and we highly recommend this cruise! We enjoyed the cruise so much that we went a second time during our trip! :) The staff was super nice and helpful with everything we needed. We were staying in Gozo and we asked if we could get onboard from Gozo and they answered messages really fast and arranged for us to get onboard from Gozo and we really appreciated that! Crystal lagoon was a real hidden gem, not as crowded as the Blue Lagoon though we enjoyed both.

It was fine, basically a glorified ferry taxi ride for the most part. Very little information given during the boat ride. Lots of free time, depending on what you booked. I'd probably skip this tbh and just do a solo independently planned day trip to Comino and/or Gozo where you're not tied to some arbitrary schedule dependent on others

It is a nice tour but dress warmly in the winter months. Blue Lagoon island was nice as well as the St. Mary caves.

This was a relaxing day for me. Although, in October it’s still really busy and you probably won’t find a spot near the water. Anyways I risked it and placed my stuff on the rocks and I felt safe. The water is AMAZING. I also recommend walking around go all the way to the top and keeping walking forward you’ll see amazing views and get yourself a pineapple!

There's an island pass for Blue Lagoon you need to download also. The team was able to assist us, but might be easier to do this sooner...or arrive a early to get this completed.

I took this day trip 10 years ago and I was looking forward to doing it again, however it was quite disappointing this second time around. The crew was superficial, they didn't bother to clean up after people throwing up so we had to put up with the smell and it was very unpleasant because the vomit spilled all over the floor of the boat due to the strong winds. At St Nicholas lagoon they just stopped right where the water was rough and wavy, they didn't get us closer to the turquoise calmer part like other boats did even though there was plenty of space. It was not enjoyable to be in the rough water. At the Blue Lagoon they didn't open the deck for us to be able to enjoy the sea from the boat, they just wanted to get rid of us all so they directed us ashore to the very crowded beaches in a hury. After a while when they were about to depart to Gozo to pick some people up we went back to the boat to rest and asked for some drinks and sandwiches. They refused to sell us food and dismissed us stating that "they were tired and resting" and that we should come back after Gozo. After Gozo we asked again and we were told "go to Comino island, they sell food there". All in all it was a disappointing experience because the crew was superficial, they didn't make any efforts for us, they just drove the boat and parked without considering our needs to have an enjoyable time by choosing better spots. They just followed the itinerary and that was it. Go for another company, we saw better boats and more engaged crew with their guests, other people around us were definitely having a much better time with music and snacks and drinks and direct access to the water without having to hurt themselves going in from the rocks and having no place to rest and lay down.

On the positive side, the ferry was very punctual and it was convenient that it departs from Sliema. It was a good, practical way to get to the lagoon and back. The waterslide and jump board were a nice touch, and you didn't need to queue to use them.
However, it was insanely overbooked and packed. We arrived 20 minutes before departure, and already there were no seats left at the top. When you book a ferry experience in the sunny Mediterranean, you don't expect to be forced to seat downstairs where you can't see anything and can't feel the sun and the wind. Especially given how they advertise all the places you see along the way - you won't see them unless you're at the top.
The blue lagoon is gorgeous but also super super packed, so if you're looking for a quiet spot to enjoy the water, go elsewhere. The bracelets they hand out to access the blue lagoon shed their colour everywhere, especially when they come in contact with sunscreen, so beware as it will ruin your swimwear and bags. I recommend putting them on only at the last moment, when you get off the boat at the lagoon.
There is nobody on board to tell you what you see or anything like that, it's all prerecorded messages. They also don't have life jackets or snorkeling kits available. The staff is only concerned with operating the ferry, not with enhancing your experience.
Note also that they do not joke about the times. Our ferry departed from the blue lagoon on its way back to Sliema at exactly the advertised time, and they did not check attendance. Be on time or you'll be left behind at the lagoon.

What an experience. The staff were ultra friendly and helpful and the tour was fantastic.
Early morning was a bit rough due to the weather but the crew warned us and did their best to make the ride good.
Facilities were fantastic and staff were knowledgeable.
Highly recommend swimming off the boat!

This tickets give you the following service.
1.5 hour boat ride to the Camino Island
1.5 hour boat ride back to Sliema
If you don’t understand what’s the tour about, they’re not going to give you any information.
There’s one stop at Gozo Island, where who got the other ticket including a sightseeing tour in Gozo Island will get dropped off.
The boat then, will drop you in the Camino Island.
As it was middle of January, winter season the island is desert.
No toilets, no food, no drinking water available.
If you don’t have anything with you, be ready for 4 hours under the sun, as there. It a single three around.
The Blue Lagoon, if you don’t have any information you won’t see it at all.
It’s a part of the sea, surrounded by small formation of lands where the weaves get weaker.
There’s no beach.
The only one I found, on the other side of the island had its access blocked as it’s a private land. An abandon hotel.
Get ready for a cold, very slow bumpy ride on open sea.
I advise anyone to get some seasick tablets with you.
On the way back I felt luck not being able to eat or drink in the island of Camino.

But get your self ready, with plenty of water, sunscreen and a hat.

Was a brilliant day out! Really good value at €30 For a whole day. The ride out was a bit rough due to the weather (but the crew did let us know this would be the case before boarding) and we made the most of this by challenging each other to see who could stay standing without holding on the longest! The scenery was beautiful, the water slide was great fun and the staff on-board were fantastic!
The food on-board was fairly limited but, if you take a snack and the wait to get more food on comino, there is plenty of choice. Comino was very crowded at the blue lagoon, but still beautiful. And the ride back as the sun set was stunning!

I paid also to go to the crystal lagoon in comino, but the boat did not stop there and I did not receive an explanation for that. The tour, in general, is beautiful but there was not everything I paid for.

Thanks for your review however your review is not very clear.
As you can see from the description, it is clearly explained that we stop at Crystal lagoon/St. Nicholas bay and Blue Lagoon.
This means that the captain has the right to choose the better spot on the day, either due to jellyfish, strong currents, prevailing winds etc.
In your case, instead of Crystal lagoon, we stopped at St. Nicholas bay, which is beautiful and we did two stops in Comino for you, so, No you didn't miss any stops.
Wish you to enjoy the rest of your stay in Malta.

The tour is great value for the money.The stop at Crystal Lagoon is perfect! Jumping and swimming around the boat ;)
However blue lagoon is getting really crowded, (compared to my last visit 11 years ago).
The boat arrives in the afternoon 14 ish and you can stay ashore till 17 20 ish.
The boat departure in the meantime to pick up some Gozo tourists and come back and dock to lagoon at 16 00.
Best part was when we went back to the boat early (1600) we stayed next to boat and jumped and swim around. If you are with smaller kids, take into consideration that the cruising time may be too long (and maybe windy) for an infant. Actually, there will be no shade in the blue lagoon at all, if you leave the boat. (All the shady spots are taken by the tourists by that time).
On the other hand the boat itself is very comfortable providing lots of shades.
Crew is professional and sharing lots of good information of Malta and Comino itself.

Check the weather before your free cancellation period expires. Our cruise should have been cancelled. Rough seas and multiple people vomitted on our way to Comino. Water very rough at Comino with only small sections available for swimming. The company should have cancelled but they are greedy. I have been to Comino 3 times and this was the was the worst experience.

It’s not the same boat as the picture shows in the booking. There were too many people on it and you couldn’t even lay down. Everybody was trying to stand and dry in the sun.

Thanks for your review. Unfortunately, on that day we had a technical issue with our larger boat and decided not to use it.
Weather was great and instead of cancelling the activity and everyone will miss the experience, we used our smaller boat which did the complete trip as the bigger one.
Before you boarded the boat, you obviously saw it, and if you were unhappy to do the trip on this boat, you should have informed us and we would have refunded your ticket straight away.
Whilst we apologise for the inconvenience, we wish that you enjoyed your stay in our lovely island.
