This was a fun rainy morning activity. Beth led a wonderful, easy to follow presentation. All of the assistants were friendly and helpful. Since there are many choices to be made, we went by the location the day before our class to look over the options and better help us keep to the allotted time for choosing during the session. Overall we really enjoyed our class.

Beth did a great job explaining sizes and prices. She let us see the finished bags in those sizes so we could see how much we could fit in them. She gave a friendly reminder to pull our phones back out ;) She and Cameron both checked our work, making sure the screws were tight. The biggest problem, and not in a bad way, was deciding what colors and patterns I wanted to use. So many to choose from, I think I was on the verge of brain overload. I had a fabulous time making a souvenir I can use and remember forever <3

Wow! Talk about a memorable experience! Beth explained everything very well. The tough part is choosing colors for your bag. I highly recommend this for both genders; computer bags are an option if a hand bag isn’t for you

Got this for the wife and she loved it. Allowed me to grab a pint or two. She said the staff were very kind and the amount of choices could be overwhelming so maybe hit them up on their website to narrow down some of the designs. Everything is provided and directions were straight forward with staff there to answer any questions.

My daughter and I did this workshop and had a great time. There were so many choices and ways to personalize your bag. We loved it and now have a usable souvenir. I also loved that they offered a toiletries bag and large backpack for the men in the group to make. Chris and Charley were lovely and quite funny instructors.

We had such a wonderful experience at the Islander Harris Tweed Satchel Workshop. We absolutely loved it! Chris, our instructor, was fantastic which made the whole process enjoyable from start to finish. There were so many beautiful patterns and bag styles to choose from, and it made creating our own satchels feel really personal. We also learned a lot about Harris Tweed and Scottish tartans, which added so much depth to the experience. It ended up being the perfect souvenir from Scotland - something we will actually use and a time we will always remember. Highly recommend!! Such a unique and memorable activity!

The experience was nice however or host was rather rude and impatient with myself and other guests. It’s unfortunate that Viator added an additional £20 pound fee on my booking for two, when the experience is only meant to be £70 pp.

Today we did something completely different and honestly one of my favorite experiences so far… we made our own Harris Tweed purses 🧵✨
Sitting there, picking out fabrics that have literally been woven in the Scottish islands, learning the process, and then turning it into something we could actually take home? It felt so personal. Like instead of just buying a souvenir, we became part of the story.
Every stitch, every pattern, every little detail has meaning behind it. Harris Tweed isn’t just fabric, it’s history… it’s craftsmanship… it’s generations of people keeping tradition alive. And now we get to carry a piece of that with us.
Also let’s be real… there’s something really satisfying about saying “yeah, I made this” while walking through a city that looks like it belongs in a fantasy novel 😌
Edinburgh keeps surprising me. One minute you’re chasing Harry Potter vibes, the next you’re sitting there creating something timeless with your own hands.
And somehow… both feel exactly right.

There are several locations so make sure you are close to your hotel if you are staying at one. It is easy and fun. I would recommend doing it as a group for even more fun

A great way to spend an hour and a half. You can build one or more bags, change sizes, buy extra parts, etc. The instructions are easy to follow and it’s an enjoyable experience.

This is an amazing experience. You get to pick out your base, your lid, your straps, and handle. I had the mini satchel and it's perfect for me. I was so excited they had the Princess Diana memorial tartan, which is what i chose. The process was easy, they explained all the steps and gave you ample time to choose all your items. If you want to upgrade your bag to leather or larger, that is an option but is extra. Great experience!
