Day one of our 2 day premium ticket was great. We enjoyed everything about it. However, we lost our paper tickets. Although I had the receipt, they refused to even discuss it. This is Wrong. Since I had the voucher, why couldn’t they check ID to see I was who bought it? And the dude was rude too.

Not great for many desired locations and not enough helpful signage or map accuracy for stops.

The map locations for stops are not accurate and makes stops very hard to find. Wide variance in quality of busses. We froze all day in a bus with open air top level only to find our bus the next day when warmer had windows that slid open and closed. Did not go close enough to key stops to rather get there quickly or to take photos from bus of landmarks. Recoding did not match what we were looking at. Overall a pretty big disappointment from other hop on hop off cities.

Very old and dirty busses. The drivers drive like MANIACS and came very close to hitting pedestrians on multiple occasions. Multiple, elderly women fell while trying to climb the stairs

The app have the impression we had to go to 1 of 3 stops to get our tickets. Finally when we ubered to one location, we found a tshirted big bus rep who told us, no. Just get on the bus. We wasted so much time!

Always a reliable initial experience in many cities. A perfect way to get the “ lay of the land.” The format is easy and diverse covering most city highlights. The cost accessible. There is now only the red route - the green line has been retired. It got the job done—- drivers were very friendly and stops were convenient. Busses were crowded and hot (but that’s nature’s fault). Doing some homework ahead of time on where things were located would have helped since it’s a loop and if you miss something you can’t go back you have to go full loop.

The app needs location updates.

The pick up locations need updated by Viator. The app gave me wrong pick up locations and i stood for 45min waiting until i asked a local vendor for help. Go directly through big bus website for accurate stops. Bus ride was fine.

Great way to see the city. Every 20 minutes from 10am - 5pm. Some of the upstairs ceilings are very low so watch your head! Takes about 2 hours to go once around. Does all the major sights.

Mind head with temporary roof!

Very hot on bus with temporary tarpaulin roof on because of heatwave but only way to see Budapest at moment because of heat!! Watch your head when going upstairs as myself, and others, banged it frequently against steel bars holding tarpaulin roof! Commentary ok. Well done to the drivers and staff in this heat!!!

We did not know that Big Bus and City Sightseeing were the same company, so we let a couple buses go by before boarding the Big Bus. Seats on Big bus are so close together and made it difficult for a bigger person to get in and out, as well, the roof was on and you had to hunch over to get to your seat (there was no rain,) The City Sightseeing buses were more comfortable. The bus stopped at all tourist locations making it easy to see the city and the highlights you want to see. The walking tour (Pest side) was extremely informative and I would recommend it highly. Overall, it was a good way to see the city.

Great and informative way to see Budapest. We go on a Hop on Hop off tour in every big city we visit. Unfortunately, a bus broke down somewhere in the city. We waited in the afternoon sun for 50 minutes for a bus to arrive at Citadel stop only to be told it is full and for us to wait another 10 minutes. There would’ve been around 50-60 of us.

What a mess in Budapest hop on and hop off bus

Bus was packed ..standing room only on every stop. Could not see over people standing to see other side. No one on board to monitor number of people..audio went out on two stops . Have used hop on and hop off with Viator at other cities and they were great..very disappointed and would have asked for a refund.

Best Way To see Budapest

Better than expected perks!

We took the Hop on Hop off all around Budapest and saw so many great sites! We bought the two day ticket but didn’t use it the second day, we wish we would have used it to see the Buda side of the city. The tickets included a boat ride on the Danube and it was wonderful! Someone also told us to come back at night for the boat trip but the lines were ridiculously long, so i guess the day trip was better for us anyway!

Great way to see the city sights on a short trip to Budapest but there are not enough buses to meet the demand and it's not even high season yet. Not guaranteed that you will be able to get on the bus never mind a seat! If returning to Budapest I would use the public bus and tram services instead.

We booked hop on hop off through Viator. It was a hugely popular activity and there were not enough buses to accommodate the tickets sold. Hence considerable difficulty using the service, the brochure quoted 10-25 mins frequency. The first bus we tried to board came 45 mins late and was full. This was a pattern over the next 2 days of the booking. At one point in the route the bus was asked to debunk and get on another bus that was already quite full. Not very organised. Staff did their best but very poor activity.
