Audio guide should be improved. Good way to see and visit the sites in Budapest. Frequency of buses needed to avoid overcrowding

    Big Bus HOHO Tour !

    marion_m, May 2026
This was a fabulous option and l’m so glad l booked - got the 72 hour ticket as l was there 4 nights and it was great value. Included a free boat cruise during the day which was a welcome rest from walking for a short time. Budapest is stunning and this HOHO let you cover all the main attractions - as with most city’s now the traffic is busy but overall the buses were plentiful and regular. The info provided via the headphones was great and the staff were always helpful and friendly with any questions.

    Response from Host, May 2026

Thank you for your fantastic feedback! We’re so pleased to hear you enjoyed your time exploring beautiful Budapest with us and found the 72-hour ticket to be such great value. It’s wonderful to know the included boat cruise, informative audio commentary, and friendly staff all helped make your experience even more enjoyable. We truly appreciate your kind words and are delighted the tour helped you discover the city’s stunning attractions with ease. We hope to welcome you on board again on another adventure soon! Denis @Big Bus Tours

Great way to see the city.

    blkatz11, May 2026
Watch were you get off at a stop. Signs are small and can be difficult to find. You and get on either bus company bus. They take both tickets.

    Response from Host, May 2026

Thank you for sharing your feedback and helpful tips for future guests! We appreciate your comments regarding the bus stop signage and understand how clearer stop locations can make the experience even smoother. We’re glad you were still able to enjoy the flexibility of the hop-on, hop-off service and thank you again for taking the time to share your experience with us. Denis @Big Bus Tours

    Good tour

    Kallie_J, May 2026
Long distances between stops so plan on being on the bus for a while for the whole city tour. It even takes you across the river to Buda Castle area.

    Response from Host, May 2026

Thank you for your very helpful feedback! We’re glad to hear the tour gave you a great overview of the city and even took you across to the Buda Castle area. We appreciate your tip about the longer distances between stops, as this is useful for planning and making the most of the experience. We hope you enjoyed the journey and would love to welcome you back on board again soon! Ciprian @ Big Bus Tours

    A bit confusing

    Anne_K, May 2026
A bit confusing because Big Bus has been subsumed by City Sightseeing who indicate that they have an included boat trip while our Big Bus ticket booked online is to include a walking tour. We don’t think that there will be time to make there in time to start at 11 given where our boat is moored and Sightseeing describes the walk as a Tip Based walk that you should pay for by tipping at least 7 Euro. Also you must change buses at #9

    Response from Host, May 2026

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand how the differences between Big Bus and City Sightseeing branding, inclusions, and meeting details could feel confusing, particularly when planning multiple activities around a tight schedule. We appreciate you highlighting this, as clarity around tour inclusions, meeting times, and route changes is very important to us. Your comments have been shared with our team to help improve communication and ensure a smoother experience for future guests. Ciprian @ Big Bus Tours

    Barbara_H, Apr 2026
The bus only goes one way, it travels in a circle Great way to see Budapest, ensure you go up to see the castle on the Buda side

    Response from Host, May 2026

Thank you for your feedback! You’re right — our route operates in a circular direction, which is designed to provide a smooth and scenic overview of Budapest. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the experience and appreciate your tip about visiting the Castle District on the Buda side, it’s truly a must‑see. We hope you had a wonderful time exploring the city and thank you for choosing Big Bus Tours. Ciprian @ Big Bus Tours

    Great to get ideas.

    David_B, Apr 2026
We were in Budapest for 4 days so booked the 2 day ticket. Did the compl÷te circuit on day 1 to get an idea of where we would like to go back then used day 2 to go back to the sights stopping off at a couple of places.

    Response from Host, May 2026

Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re delighted to hear that the 2‑day ticket worked well for your stay in Budapest and that completing the full circuit on the first day helped you plan what to explore in more detail on day two. It’s great to know you made good use of the hop‑on hop‑off flexibility to revisit your favorite sights. We’re glad Big Bus Tours could be part of your city exploration. Ciprian @ Big Bus Tours

    Not worth the money

    Joan_A, Apr 2026
I should have listened to others. Not worth the money. We paid for two days but only used it for one complete tour. Stops are difficult to find, usually just a small red board. Audio guide was out of sync with the places. As we are both over 65 all public transport for us was free so it is better to jump in a very frequent bus service or tram or use the fantastic quick metro to get to the places you want to see.

    Response from Host, May 2026

Thank you for sharing your honest feedback. We’re sorry to hear the experience didn’t meet your expectations and that issues such as stop visibility and audio synchronization impacted your enjoyment. We understand that for guests with access to free public transportation, our service may not always feel like the best value, and we appreciate you highlighting this perspective. Your comments have been shared with our team as we continue working to improve clarity, timing, and overall quality of the tour experience. Thank you for taking the time to let us know. Ciprian @ Big Bus Tours

    Always interesting always worth it

    Joe_C, Apr 2026
Always do a HOHO bus when we are on holiday. There is an opportunity to increase the interesting information given there were alot of silence. Some of the recordings appeared to be cut off at the beginning which meant you missed information. The staff were super friendly and the drivers we clearly very experienced as the traffic they had to navigate was pretty intense.

    Response from Host, May 2026

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re pleased to hear our staff were friendly and that our drivers’ experience helped navigate challenging traffic conditions. We appreciate your comments regarding the audio commentary, including periods of silence and clips cutting off, and understand how that can affect the experience. Your feedback has been shared with our team as we continue working to improve the quality and consistency of the commentary. Thank you for taking the time to let us know. Ciprian @ Big Bus Tours

    Budapest by bus

    Nancy_G, Mar 2026
The bus was a good way to see the city even on a cold and rainy day. The time waiting for the bus was reasonable. The only issue was pick up point was changed at one of the stops so we missed the bus and had to wait for another.

    Response from Host, Apr 2026

Hi Nancy_G, Thank you for your feedback! We apologize for the pick-up point change, as we understand this created an inconvenience. We hope to see you again in the future! Best wishes. Cristian T, Big Bus Tours

You do not have to redeem the voucher at a certain place like it said on my voucher, we did it on the bus & we were given our 2 day ticket there & then. We were so pleased we got a 2 day ticket, it was handy to be able to jump off & on when you want to.

    Response from Host, Mar 2026

    Check before you buy

    Peter_B, Feb 2026
Make sure what you bought is what you’re getting as ours didn’t The boat trip advertised as a 1hour included ride was no longer a part of the deal since start of 2026. Viator did not notify us of this so having booked the trip back in October we feel short changed on our arrival to be told we only get a 30% discount when we book a river trip.

    Response from Host, Feb 2026

Hello Peter_B. We are truly sorry to hear that your experience was not positive. We invite you to contact us directly through email or live chat, as we would like to understand more about your recent visit and provide the necessary assistance. We hope to have the chance to enhance your experience. Kind regards, Razvan from Big Bus Tours

    Room for improvement

    Nora_K, Feb 2026
The bus was cold, the roof was leaking and some seats were wet. The audio stopped randomly in the middle of sentences and didn’t continue from there later on. The information we were sent before the tour, to exchange the QR code we got in the email to tickets at one of their three offices was false, we went for nothing, they gave us tickets on the bus when we got on. They made us all get off the bus at one point and switch to another one, which is an inconvenience especially in the rain. There is definitely space for improvement for this company. The language selection is nice though.

    Response from Host, Feb 2026

Hi Nora_K. Thank you for your feedback as this always helps us improve our service! We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused to your experience. We look forward to welcoming you back soon! Best, Razvan from Big Bus Tours.

I am afraid I score it...

    june_s, Dec 2025
I am afraid I score it low for several reasons. Firstly we struggled to find pick up on first morning as we were looking for the Big red bus.It seems you operate on both the Big bus and another operator which we were unaware of. Second morning we had to get off the bus as it was stuck behind a tram and couldn't move. We ended up trawling the streets in Budapest as we were unaware of our route no other buses followed due to the blockage of traffic. On our journey home the bus driver set off before my husband had got to his seat upstairs. He has injured his rib as he was slammed into the hand rail on the stairwell,if you have cctv you can see this ,it was on tge 2nd Dec. This was discussed with the young lady at the front of the bus as we dissembarked. It was also witnessed by the other passengers on board. Apparently before we boarded the driver had a altercation with a van driver also traffic rage,we don'tknow if had to catch up on his time. The third evening we waited for at least 15-20 minutes in pouring rain. Feel this was our worst experience with a hope on and off which we used around the world. We still may need to consult a doctor regarding his pain / injury. Very dissapointed. June Spavin

    Response from Host, Dec 2025

Hello June_s. We are deeply sorry to hear that you did not enjoy our bus tour. We would like to further explore this issue to ensure we can provide you with the necessary assistance. Don’t bother

    Debbie_L, Dec 2025
This did not add much value to our trip. The free river trip was not good , the windows were so misty up you couldn’t see anything . It was hard to find the bus stops and when we did get on a bus , it was rather chaotic and stopped mid Way as we told to get off with a blunt ‘Bue Bye’ !

    Response from Host, Dec 2025

Hello Debbie! Thanks for your review. We're sorry to hear that the river cruise wasn't great and that it was tough to locate the bus stops. Just a reminder, you can make use of our Fully Flexible ticketing and chat with us live to reschedule your travel date, which is available 24/7. We hope to welcome you back on board soon, ideally on a cooler day! Cheers, Ana from Big Bus Tours.

    Would not recommend!

    Darlene_F, Dec 2025
This was not at all what we expected. It seemed as though it was being used by locals for public transportation. We had to get off one bus to get on another because the driver’s shift was done. We had to wait at least a half hour before the next bus started the tour again while the door was left open and we were freezing because of very cold temperatures. The microphones were not clear so we had no idea what stop we were at, plus we couldn’t understand the description of the stop (if there was one). We went upstairs to find not glass but plastic as windows so we couldn’t even see out. There were so many people on the bus at several points that we couldn’t see out the window to know what we were passing by. Would not recommend.

    Response from Host, Dec 2025

Hello Darlene! We appreciate your feedback. We're sorry to hear that the wait times affected your trip and that the audio system was malfunctioning on one of our buses. We understand how this can influence your tour experience. We suggest you consider our Fully Flexible ticketing option, which allows you to adjust your experience to a more suitable date. Just start a live chat with our team anytime, and they'll be glad to assist you. Best, Ana from Big Bus Tours.

Think twice, and set expectations low.

    Marcia_L, Dec 2025
The Big Bus Budapest APP and WEBSITE are excellent sources of maps and valuable information on history, sites, and landmarks. The customer service team was very helpful and accommodating, and they responded promptly to my emails. Great communication! Set your expectations low for the actual BIG BUS TOUR experience. • The buses were usually full, the seats uncomfortable, and the riders were so playful, loud, and inconsiderate that it seemed pointless to listen to the narration. • In the seven buses I rode, the recorded NARRATION cut in and out. Regularly and consistently. The recorded voices were flat, unengaging, and seemed artificial. Narration often started up mid-sentence after long moments of silence. In at least one bus, the narration was not in sync with the sites. In all but one Budupest / Hop on Off Big Bus, the speaker system for the stops and live announcements was muddled, the words indistinguishable (like an old SNL skit!). • I got conflicting information from the Big Bus team. (examples: 1) I redeemed my voucher for a ticket at the office one day, three days later, the person at the office said I needed to go to stop #1 across the street to redeem my voucher. The team at the stop would not let me redeem for the required paper ticket unless I was riding at that exact moment, and insisted that I needed to go to the office to get the paper ticket (Igen, the office had just sent me to the stop to get the paper ticket!) 2.) Although I was told I could use a paper ticket only, some of the team insisted that one could use the app or voucher on any Big Bus or boat. Contradictory at best) • Please note: the buses travel in one, chronological direction only, so plan accordingly. Allow for about a 2-hour round-trip. The first bus starts at stop #1— and did not reach my stop, #17, until 10:30 am— which means the morning could be gone if you planned to use the Big Bus for transportation around the city or to a specific site. •• I bought a three-day Big Bus pass. Consider buying a one-day BigBus ticket plus PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION. (As a SENIOR, I got great value using the Budapest public transportation system— which is free for seniors! It is quiet, comfortable, clean, and it runs frequently-- in many directions, for most of the day and night. ••• Final thought: consider buying a one-day, BigBus ticket, use it round-trip, no stops, then use public transportation for the rest of your stay. —— And read up on the sites on the Big Bus app!

    Cooking Class

    Sharon_S, Nov 2025
Loved experiencing the market and buying what was needed for our meal. The small apartment we cooked in was nice. Our guide was knowledgeable and full of information about the area. Lots of wine from white to rose to red was drank. We didn’t actually do any cooking. Our group was too large. We each cut a few things. Our meal was delicious.

    Response from Host, Nov 2025

HI Sharon_S. Thank you for sharing your thoughts! We’re thrilled to hear that you enjoyed our service and had the chance to discover Budapest! We eagerly await your return! Warm regards, Razvan, Big Bus Tours

    Great trip

    Melissa_L, Nov 2025
Buses run regularly, easy to hop on and off. Stay downstairs if it’s raining or snowing as although the roof is out on, the side are not always so the seats have puddles in them.

    Response from Host, Nov 2025

Hi Melissa_L, Thank you for your feedback! We are happy to hear that you enjoyed our service, however we apologize for those puddles caused by the rain! We want to make sure you get the best service possible, and we would be grateful to see you again in the future! Best regards, Cristian T, Big Bus Tours

    Big bus tour Budapest

    hayley_m, Nov 2025
The buses varied in comfort. It was -1 and some still had open sides. One bus even broke down. The quality of audio was also variable from not working at all to cutting off mid sentence. The Danube trip was also pointless ! All the windows were streamed up and there was no information given at all so you had no idea at all what was happening outside!
