Poás volcano is a powerful symbol of the geothermal forces that formed Costa Rica. When the mist and clouds part you’ll see the sulfuric, bubbling, green rain fed lake at the bottom, surrounded by smoke and steam rising from fumaroles. Water from the lake is constantly seeping through cracks in the hot rock, evaporating and building pockets of steam. When the pressure in these pockets exceeds the weight of the water above, the steam breaks through in geysers that rocket up to 820 feet (250 meters) high. Worth It!

Raquel did a great job explaining to us the intricacies of coffee growing, showing us Poás (which we were very fortunate to see clearly), and walking us through the animal sanctuary. I love how she told the back story of many of the animals. The waterfalls require a lot of walking up and down steps. The pace was good. We did not feel rushed. She prepared us for whatever we encountered such as a steep hike to the lagoon (optional). Olman was a great driver too. I highly recommend!

Lots of stairs, but worth every step! A gorgeous jungle with 5 bridges over the canopy. Stunning views and lots of plants and wildlife to explore. Our guide Kevin (5 stars) was so knowledgeable and was an expert at spotting wildlife. I highly recommend this excursion.

Great zipline experience in heart of La Fortuna

This was a very fun activity for all of us. Great location in heart of la fortuna between the huge trees and close to the volcano mountain so great scenaries. We were able to spot some tucans and a monkey along the way. 8 cable zipline all exciting with various length and levels but was not hard even for our 10 years old. The staff was very friendly and informative and made sure everyone undertands the instructions and is having fun along all stages. Recommend this one for families looking to have a super fun zipline experience in La Fortuna.

Delicious food, amazing tour

Angel was AMAZING! Very entertaining, the food was delicioussssss, very interactive. The drinks were amazing. You get to walk and see where the locals hang and explore culture then you go to a nice place and begin the cooking and cocktail class! I can’t believe the food was that good honestly. So glad I did this trip.

I really appreciated that I was picked up at my hotel, and there was a breakfast stop. A great beach day, and for the first real day in Costa Rica it couldn't be beat. It was different from any other excursion I experienced in my 13 days in Costa Rica. Saw some giant crocodiles at low tide when we returned to the dock in the afternoon.

Spectacular activities

This tour was worth every penny, from San Jose pickup to dropping us off were so smooth. Our driver, Diego, picked us up on time and was knowledgeable about the roads and some of the mountains we passed by. We did surfing and atv. Both were amazing. Our instructor, Mario for surfing was very nice, accommodating and very patient with us. We learned so much from him and taught us so well. He was very funny as well. Sebastian was our tour guide for atv, he was also amazing and accommodating. Just beware, there’s only specific locations for pickups and drop-offs, we were just fortunate that our hotel is one of those.

This trip was terrific. Our tour guide Marco went out of his way to ensure everyone had an informative and entertaining time. Even though we had lots of rain, we were able to enjoy all aspects of our trip. The accommodation and meals were good and the transportation by bus and boat was interesting. Great experience and view of the volcano.

This was a dual language tour (Spanish and English) and that can often get awkward, but it was done very well. Other than a bit of an earlier start than I like while on vacation, I had a wonderful time. We got to see the volcano crater without issue and just as we were getting ready to leave, the clouds moved in. It was a wonderful day!

You go into a wildlife tour knowing you may not see much wildlife, however Johnny the guide has incredible ears and eyes and is able to find a huge variety of interesting flora and fauna. Even if I'd stood looking for a year I wouldn't have found some of the insect's, frogs, tarantulas, snakes, scorpions and birds he identified. And a sloth! All this while being an engaging guide who keep the whole group interested. Also it was lovely to learn about life in Monteverde and local culture. I was little nervous about waking around the forest in the dark, but Johnny made us feel safe and comfortable.

A Perfect Day in Costa Rica

We could not have asked for a better tour! Adriana was kind, knowledgeable and fun to have along for the ride. This experience had everything we were looking for in our short visit, and more! The Zipline was a challenge (be prepared for an arm workout!), but the hot springs were sooo relaxing to follow up. I was a little bummed that rain and clouds obstructed our view of the volcano peak, but what can you do? I enjoyed the time in the van, being able to look out and enjoy the eye level view. They kept us well fed throughout the day, but my favorite thing to try was the cas juice at the waterfall lookout.

Lovely tour to some spots just outside of San Jose

A great full day tour to some highlights outside of San Jose. We went to Irazu Volcano, but didn't spend much time due to the weather. We saw a few scenic vistas and then visited the Basilica which was beautiful. Then a delicious lunch and the Ruins of Ujarras!
