Toan was an excellent guide for the Cu Chi Tunnels private tour. We were picked up from our hotel in an air conditioned car. On our way to the tunnels Toan gave us an overview of the history of the war between Vietnam and USA. We stopped at a handicraft's shop where several people, who were victims of the use of Agent Orange during the war, were creating some amazing lacquer paintings. We purchased one but there was no obligation to buy anything. When we arrived at the tunnels Toan showed his experience and knowledge as a guide as well as his sense of humour. We would definitely recommend this experience. Thank you Toan.

Do Not Miss this Experience!

This excursion is not a tour - it's an experience! We spent a full day with Joey, our awesome tour guide, who met us at the cruise pier. We used our time together eating, drinking and meandering our way around the Delta. Joey made sure to accommodate us - we're not so spry - and she customized the stops to avoid anything too demanding for us. We took a boat ride to Unicorn Island to discover how the locals make honey, wine and moonshine (and sample the results) and grow the most delicious fruits. We also learned how to puff rice! We then traveled across the river to see how to make coconut candy. Then time for a delicious lunch. Another boat ride returned us to the marina and our car. After a visit to the pagoda to see Happy Buddah, Lady Buddah and Reclining Buddah, we returned to our ship exhausted but happily filled with memories.

The guide James made this tour truly amazing. Hes not only extremely knowledgeable on vietnam's history, but also quite hilarious. Not only were the excursions informative, they were perfectly spaced out and struck an amazing balance of physical activity, learning, and fun. I came solo and left with several new friends. Very friendly and knowledgeable guide. Plenty of water and fruit available, plus a croissant each. Very quick way to reach the tunnels with the added bonus of a lovely breeze and views of the day to day life on the Saigon river. The tunnels were a fantastic experience, which you could model to your own needs, whether you wanted to crawl through tunnels, shoot at the range( extra charge) or simply take in the fascinating history of Chu Chi. The lunch was simple and tasty; rice, chicken and vegetable soup, pork, omelette and a chicken stir fry. An added bonus was the included Tiger Beer( though of course other options available). Thank you for a lovely day.

A unique and enjoyable experience

Great way to get to all the tourist stops. The jeep is an authentic army jeep with enough room for the guide, the driver, and 2 passengers. Being in an open vehicle in the bustling traffic of Ho Chi Minh City is an experience in itself. Our driver Joe, and guide Mimi were friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. They even had a cooler of cold drinks which was wonderful to have in the tropical heat. A lot of fun.

Our tour was with VietNam Adventure Tours, it was very easy to book on Viator and their communication and planning was excellent and professional. Our guide was Tuon, he is the best tour guide I have ever had. He was a veteran of the war and was very informative and always connected the information he provided to what it would have been like during the war. I learned a lot from him and have a lot of respect for him, he helped make this the most unforgettable adventure!

To skip the crazy lines def do it again.

It was helpful to get through immigartion and customs quicker. The process is a bit confusing and chaotic so can be overwhelming so this definately helped avoid those feellngs. It was not easy to find my guide though as they all stand in a line. My guide didnt speak English and had a tendency to run ahead so I felt as if I was keeping him from something else. What was a plus was taking me to my piller for my driver. I think i might still be looking for it if it wasnt for him. Would I do it again for the immigration and customs yes. If you have done the Thailand one they very different experiences though as in Thailand they had a specific agent who does it and fast track lanes. Not in HCM there are alot of different agents so you get a shorter albeit still a queue but not as long as the other queues. Im not sure why but I expected the airports to be alot more structured and ordered in Vietnam, not a chance. Strangely i felt calmer and more settled when I was with border security as that felt familiar as its the same world over.
