Top Ho Chi Minh City Day Trips

We booked this trip last night and travelled this afternoon leaving our hotel at 1pm. Going in the afternoon worked well and left time for a museum visit this morning before we left Ho Chi Minh City. My, our lovely young guide, met us at our hotel and with the assistance of her driver we travelled comfortably to the site. On the way My spoke with us about the history of the site and Vietnam in general. My guided us well around the site and her explanations and general conversation added greatly to our enjoyment and understanding of what we were looking at. The site was fairly quiet and we had the feeling that more visitors go in the morning. If you want to visit the tunnels and your time is limited this is a good way to go with comfortable transport and doing things at your own pace and potentially avoiding crowds. We were back at our hotel at around 6.30pm in time for a shower before heading out for a meal. Our guide, My, was great and ensured we had a good trip. This trip and our guide, My, gets five stars from us. Well done!

Our guide Lucy took us on an adventure through Ho Chi Mhin City! She was warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. The food was amazing, Lucy was easy to talk to, and we learned a lot about HCMC amd Vietnamese culture. Thank you Lucy for a wonderful experience.

We visited the tunnels on Sunday, which means lots of people! Nevertheless we were very satisfied with the organisation - the bus was on time, our host Vinny made sure we had all information, he was also adjusting the path of the tour (at the tunnels) such that we were not spending too much time waiting in queues. On the bus he provided lots of information from both perspectives: relevant historical data as well as his personal touch and experience, which we really enjoyed. So a big shout out to Vinny and the driver for a great experience!

Bring flip flops or water shoes for the stream. Hat and sunblock for the dunes. You will have sand in your shoes at the end. Restaurant for lunch was very good. Your guide was great. Informative and shared little bits of information about the area. ATV or Jeep is worth the money!!!! Sleeper bus is nice.

Our Motorbike drivers were amazing. My Driver, Ruby, was a delight. She made me (age 77) feel at ease as she maneuvered the streets of the city with bikes, cars, vans, busses, etc going this way and that with ease. She never once made me feel unsafe. The stops that we made as a group were perfect. The Burning Monk monument was something we would have missed on our trip without these guides. Our treats in the market were delicious. Anthony, who was my husband's driver, was a perfect city guide as well as driver. He answered all questions. All of the guides spoke excellent English which made us feel at ease. The traffic in Ho Chi Minh city is truly organized chaos, but even though we were right in the middle of it, our experience was spectacular and truly a highlight of our Southeast Asia trip. Thank you Ruby, Anthony, and our other two drivers for this amazing and fun way to see the city.

We had a wonderful day exploring the Mekong Delta. Our guide Heidi was very knowledgeable & made the experience very enjoyable. We saw a pagoda and some huge Budda's, travelled in 3 boats of various sizes, visited the candy factory where my partner got to taste snake wine🤢I wasn't brave enough to try it. We had a ride in a Saigon Mercedes (a motorbike with a trailer attached, which transported us to out lunch venue), we did a little bit of traditional cooking before our delicious lunch. Then it was time for a bike ride to work off the calories. After this we saw some crocodiles, snakes, toads & catfish in enclosures. Some of our group were able to feed the crocodiles & catfish. Then it was off to sample some very tasty tropical fruit & listen to some beautiful traditional music & singing, after which we stopped for a small glass of green tea, sweetened with local honey & tamarind juice. We were shown the bees on the honeycomb & were even encoutraged to hold one. We visited Unicorn Island on our way back & all the way along our journey, Heidi gave us an interesting commentary which made the area come alive. I can thoroughly recommend this tour. Definitely worth your time & money.

Our guides name was Long & even after me messing up our booking he was so very helpful. We enjoyed this tour with Long, he was extremely pleasant & very knowledgeable. We made him laugh with our Aussie ways. I was hesitant about trying street food in Vietnam but everything was delicious & we had no ill effects afterwards. Even drank peach tea with ice cubes. I would definately recommend this tour to give you an idea about their local food & some of their traditions. We had a great time!!
