What are people saying about Georgia

superb!
we had a great experience, the driver Dodo and the tourist guide Shoti were amazing. Dodo is a very good driver and makes you feel safe while driving around (which is not obvious in Georgia) and Shoti is really well prepared and gives a lot of information about the country and wine making process.

We went on our food tour...
We went on our food tour with Giorgi who was super warm, friendly, and knowledgeable! My partner and I are fans of Georgian food (and wine and chacha!) so it was great to learn more about it, and have a walk around Tbilisi to some restaurants and establishments that might not have been on our radar otherwise. It's hard to chose a highlight since it was all great, but the Chacha shop was a blast!
We got exactly what we wanted from this tour, and Girogi's ancestors can be super proud of how full we were at the end :)

All the highlights of the Georgian Military Highway
Great tour along the so-called Georgian Military Highway, with stops on all the main sights: the reservoir, fortress, ski resort/ friendship monument and finally a mountaintop church near the Russian border. The guide was informative, but could be more engaging. As many of the sights are in high elevations, the experience would very much depend on the weather. We were lucky to have partly sunny and clear weather, but it may not be so impressive when it’s rainy and foggy. Plan for a long day, unless you’re staying in Stepansminda.

Fantastic tour!
Fantastic tour. Each stop was really interesting, each in a very different way. Dima gave us a great overview of the country in between stops and was highly knowledgeable about each location and could answer all of our questions. Lunch was delicious and it was nice to get to know the other people on the tour a bit more. Overall, really recommend!

Kazbegi private day trip with Giorgi
The road trip and the views were amazing.
Our tour guide was Giorgi and right from the day before the tour, he was proactive and good at his job.
He managed to share basic information and historical significance of the places.
The viewpoints, the monasteries and the scenery were amazing and we really enjoyed the tour.
The tour is almost 11-12hrs or longer mainly because the time spent on the road and the traffic going out and coming into Tbilisi. (I certainly underestimated the traffic situation 😅)
We sat down at a good restaurant with traditional local cuisine. It was a good recommendation by the guide.
Personally we skipped the Buggy rides in Gadauri as we felt it was disproportionately priced and similar experience can be had in other places for half the price or lesser.

Our guide Paata was...
Our guide Paata was brilliant. He was friendly, chatty, funny and kept us entertained throughout the day. We enjoyed the quiz he did on the way back and it did genuinely help to pass the time. He gently encouraged participation and it was fun.
The stops were good overall and although you don’t get much time in each place, you see a varied cross-section of an entire country in one day, which is impressive. It is quite history-themed so perhaps not your thing if you’re more interested in modern culture.
The bus is really comfortable and had charging outlets. No toilet onboard but we stopped every couple of hours.
Paata guided us through the border crossing with ease.
The lunch stop was pretty good - a buffet style and we got to try some (I think authentic) Armenian food, where locals were eating.
The dinner stop was really poor - less than 30 mins stop and limited options. But you could have picked something up on the last stop in Yerevan to be fair!
It’s a very long day (7am pickup, 11pm-12am drop-off) but totally worth it if you want to see Armenia.

A must do if you are in Tbilisi!
The best part of visiting Georgia was actually taking this day tour to Armenia. I know it sounds crazy but after seen those beautiful and magical monasteries in Armenia, all of the sites in Georgia won't be relevant. Crossing the border is easy, the drive is not too bad and the best part is that there are barely any people at the sites, such a mystical experience.

Don't miss Mtskheta & the Chronicles
Brilliant half-day tour that covers the sights close by, but not easy to get to, from Tbilisi. Sandro was our charismatic host, who somehow made friends and personalised the experience for each person on the coach, helped by Irina who shared her insights on life in Georgia. The Chronicles of Georgia are very impressive in person, missed by many that visit, and Mtskheta is a gem the ancient capital.

Irakli - Awesome!!!
Irakli is a super professional and safe driver. He was always early starting from the first pick up and he speaks English very very well and was always open to sharing his knowledge about Georgia, pre-Soviet times and cars passionately. He is also so accommodating and flexible to what I wanted to do for the day. What a guy! Highly recommended!

Alex was an excellent...
Alex was an excellent guide and made the whole experience very memorable. The weather wasn’t great, but Alex was still full of enthusiasm and modified the itinerary to suit.
The lunch with the family was outstanding. Food was incredible as was the peacefulness of the location. The two little pupped were a joy as well.
The visit to Muzze winery was fantastic, Nika was the host and had so much passion for his family business. The wines are exceptional as is the chacha. I wish I could have bought several cases of everything.
Overall this was a great trip and one I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Tbilisi

One way or return trip to Armenia!
Great way to go from Tbilisi to Yerevan when visiting both Georgia and Armenia. There is a stop at the border that can go fast or slow depending on crowds and how prepared tour mates are with passports, visas, etc. Good way to go to Lake Sevan and other sites up in the north of Armenia. It takes the whole day but it goes fast. You can book it one way or with a return back to Tbilisi. I did the one way, and I’d recommend to do so and to stay over for a couple of nights in Yerevan. I was glad to see other solo travelers on my tour. Good value!

Highly recommend
We had to be flexible today due to changes in city travel and access due to preparations for a national holiday parade. Our guide Sergi was a lovely young man. He happily made adjustments to suit us, walking slowly and assisting with stairs as required. Sergi negotiated traffic conditions confidently and was very accommodating.

Georgia lies in the mountains, a small republic with unique cuisine, incredible history, and a proud sense of independence. From Tbilisi, the capital, you can reach much of the country on a day trip—such as the awe-inspiring Mt. Kazbegi, whose craggy peak straddles the border with Russia. Georgia tours can also make it easy to dig into the country's wine production: the oldest evidence of human wine cultivation, from 8,000 years ago, comes from the region, so locals know what they’re talking about when it comes to reds and whites.
