Our favorite tour of the trip!

Loved this experience with a family of 9 especially the teenagers who could drive their own (with a valid license). The course is so fun and the waterfall stop was refreshing. The highlight was stopping for drinks and snacks at the top of a GORGEOUS mountain. Order an empanada and a frozen juice. Our guide was awesome and kept us safe. It was HOT so bring water and wear sunscreen. Very good value for what you get to do especially compared to ATVs in the US.

We had an amazing ATV adventure in Costa Rica! The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and made sure everyone felt safe and comfortable throughout the experience. The ride was the perfect length—long enough to enjoy the adventure without feeling rushed or exhausted. The scenery along the route was beautiful, with stunning views that showcased the natural beauty of Costa Rica. One of the highlights was stopping at a wonderful local bar, which was the perfect place to relax and take in the atmosphere. Book it!!

This ATV tour was the highlight of our trip! We had an absolute blast. Joseth M. was an amazing guide—friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone felt safe and comfortable throughout the adventure. The trail was perfect, taking us through rivers, mud, rocky terrain, dirt paths, and even some pavement, which kept the ride exciting from start to finish. The safety briefing beforehand was thorough and gave us confidence before heading out. To top it all off, the meal after the tour was delicious. Great food, great atmosphere, and an unforgettable experience. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for adventure and fun!

Wonderful taste of Nicaragua!

Truly impressed with how well this tour is operated. There are a lot of logistics that go in to it on both sides of the boarder and it went quite smooth. Our tour guides were phenomenal and this excursion was a highlight to our trip. I will say make sure you bring cash! I did not bring enough and needed to find and atm as many vendors don’t take card. Make sure to bring money for tips. We especially enjoyed our carriage ride through the city of Granada. The people of Nicaragua were very friendly and there is a sense of authenticity felt there that many places lack, I would love to return one day.

So worth it even in Rainy season!

Did the volcano, waterfall and hot springs tour with Red Lava and we just had to book with them again for our Rio Celeste tour. Our guide, Juan Carlos, was informative and patient, always allowing us time to look at animals and explain ro us some super cool biology! We started off bright and early with a 1h30 min bus ride, until we stopped at one of the oldest trees in CR (el Árbol de la Paz). We then continued and started the tour where we got to see the lagoon, the top of Volcano Tenorio, and finally the Rio Celeste waterfall. We came during rainy season but it was still so worth it due to the wild life we got to see (many frogs, snakes, lizards. geckos, butterflies and even a sleeping owl!) As for the water, it wasn’t as Celeste as it could be due to the cloudiness and rain showers from the night before, but it was still super pretty and clear and definitely a fun hike overall! (The whole hike was about 4 hours). We then went for a delicious Costa Rican lunch and then finally were brought to a lower part of the rio Celeste where we could swim. At this point the sun came out and we saw the Celeste colour even more. Overall an amazing and fulfilling day, 10/10!

A blast. The sights? Breathtaking. Zip lining over a mile, for as high up as we were, was unforgettable. Great picture opportunities. The only thing, when doing the atv portion: give yourself some space between you and the person in front so you can rip the gas and get some real speed. Be careful.

Teens looking for fun!!!!

This was worth every penny. I traveled with teenagers and was looking for something to kickstart our vacation. This was definitely the best activity for that. We all had a lot of fun the guides were amazing and super knowledgeable and friendly. The sights were awesome totally suggest this if you have teens with you that are looking for something adventure!!!!

Do this trip if you like fun and learning

Overall a really good experience, I would recommend doing it when you’re in Costa Rica. Our guide Kevin was very knowledgeable and kind throughout the entire trip. It’s something you’d have to experience for yourself from walking in a rainforest to more drier land where the mini volcanos are, to swimming in a waterfall which was gorgeous, and lunch was absolutely phenomenal. Finished off with the hot springs which just rounded out the trip. I don’t know, I’d do it again, it was worth the money, the people and the experience.

Great tour

I had a great experience at Rainmaker thanks to our guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable and really took the time to try and find the animals we were hoping to see. What stood out most was how patient and considerate he was—especially when I was nervous around certain creatures like spiders. He never rushed us and made sure everyone felt comfortable throughout the tour. We ended up seeing a lot of snakes, which was surprisingly very cool, and the highlight was definitely spotting a red-eyed tree frog! Overall, it was a fun, memorable experience, and I’d highly recommend this tour—especially with such a thoughtful and dedicated guide.
