Patrick was very knowledgeable about the Lion’s Head hike, local plants along the hike, and different areas of Cape Town. He was very intentional about taking time to give us breaks during our hike and during those times he shared his knowledge. Patrick was very kind to find us the best view points at the top of Lion’s Head, to take pictures of us, and to provide us with coffee and tea right before sunrise. We very much enjoyed our hike with Patrick as our guide.

Idrees is an excellent guide — kind, thoughtful, and with a strong sense of safety that makes the journey feel secure and enjoyable.The hike is demanding, with sections that require climbing ladders and using chains. It’s adventurous and pushes you out of your comfort zone in the best way. Reaching the top is absolutely worth it — the panoramic view is breathtaking and unforgettable. Definitely a must-do for those who enjoy a mix of challenge, adventure, and stunning scenery.

Lion’s Head Sunrise Hike

The sunrise hike of Lion's Head was a genuinely unique and amazing experience! Our guide, Idrees, was both friendly and knowledgeable about the mountain, local wildlife and botanicals, and Cape Town history and culture. If you can get your booking with him, you should do so hands down. The hike was definitely a physical challenge, so it should not be undertaken by the faint of heart. But the rewards are well worth the effort!

The Lion’s head hike was sensational

Codi was an amazing guide helping us explore the terrain of lion’s head at sunset. I am physically fit with a slight fear of heights. Codi was very supportive and helped me reach heights I have never hiked before. While I was uneasy as we were reaching the top, Codi accompanied down to lower ground where I was able to comfortably watch the sunset and hike back down easily.
