It was a very interesting tour. Hugo had all sorts of interesting facts and knowledge of Osaka, especially the Osaka Castle.
Hugo was a great guide. Picked us up at our hotel and took us to all the top spots in Osaka. He was knowledgeable and told us about daily life and traditions.
Yama did a terrific job guiding us through the amazing Himeji Castle! He was extremely knowledgeable and we learned a great deal about the history of the castle. Yama also showed us the Koko-en garden and some very interesting shrines. He helped recommend a delicious lunch for us and overall made the day memorable!

Hugo was an amazing guide and made our day in Osaka one of the highlights of our trip! He was so knowledgeable and friendly, and his English was excellent. He took us to a local spot for lunch that we really enjoyed and suggested stops outside our planned itinerary that turned out to be wonderful additions.
We loved getting to experience Osaka through his eyes. It was the perfect end to our Japanese vacation. If you’re visiting Osaka, we highly recommend booking a tour with Hugo. Thank you for such a memorable day!

The range of sights on our walking tour was impressive and Hugo gave us an excellent insight into the districts of Osaka we visited and historic facts about the city and famous figures. Hugo was immediately friendly, attentive and personable and gave us a memorable experience of this exciting city. We would recommend his services unreservedly!
(There is just one aspect to the presentation of this tour that needs attention but it does not concern the tour guide. It is as follows. We sought a private tour for a half-day that we expected to be like the Viator full day private tour of Tokyo…which involved a private vehicle drive round the city. Unexpectedly, it proved to be a walking tour! There are 3 ways to find this Osaka tour - only 1 of them comes under the heading of “walking tours”. The tour description itself does not contain the word “walking” on the Viator website. The other 2 ways of finding the tour are: (i) via the search under ‘private tours’ on the Viator website, and (ii) on the Tripadvisor website …neither state this a “walking” tour. Please make sure this is clearer in future to help customers decide about choosing the tour?)
Arnaud was absolutely brilliant. Great commentator and very knowledgeable. He has a great grasp on how to make our tour better because he understands the client. We were able to see everything we wanted to see with him. Can’t say enough about his work.

We had the best time with our tour guide, Hugo! He knew the history of all the places we visited and asked us if there was any particular place we wanted to visit! It was a fun filled day and so worth while having a private tour guide, as there was no way we would have seen so many sites on our own. I highly recommend Hugo to anyone that wants to tour the city of Osaka.
Hugo was an awesome guide. Very informative. Easy to talk to with a vast knowledge of Osaka. He has lived there for ten years. I would highly recommend taking this tour.
Our guide Arnaud was one of the best in our time in Japan. He answered lots of questions about local customs and history as he showed us around the top spots for our one day in Osaka. Arnaud was flexible and didn't rush us. He showed us some of the back streets and areas we never would have found ourselves. He also found a gluten free restaurant for me to eat at for lunch which was really appreciated. We did the 4 hour tour option.
We had a great experience touring Osaka with Hugo. He sent an itinerary beforehand and we asked to modify it because we'd already seen some of it the day before. He was more than accommodating, took us to some really cool places we wouldn't have seen otherwise (especially Shinsekai), and enjoyed hearing his commentary about Osaka and Japanese culture. He took us to a great little restaurant too.
Arnaud was fantastic! He is so sweet, and personable, and gave us a wonderful tour. We had already been to Osaka Castle so he changed the tour to take us to places we hadn't seen. His English is superb and he was careful to accommodate my friend with bad knees by finding elevators and escalators whenever possible. He took us to so many interesting places we would never have found on our own, including the fish market, temples, and shrines. I highly recommend this tour. It was great to have a private tour with someone accommodating our wants and needs. You won't be sorry if you choose to go with Arnaud!
This was a great tour! Ami was our tour guide and we enjoyed her presentation of sights as well as her flexibility with our schedule. She was very helpful tailoring the tour to our timeframe and interests, which we appreciated. In addition, Ami shared some interesting background information about the Shinto and Buddhist faith. We loved seeing Osaka castle and Ami, again pointed out some fascinating facts about the history & structure of the castle. It was a wonderful tour and day with Ami!!

We had a fantastic tour with Hugo and saw many Osaka sights. Having a guide was really great because it was hard to understand the subway system. Hugo was very knowledgable and also super funny. We are still laughing about some of the stories he shared.
Hugo was an amazing guide for us. We're old and needed a slower pace, he altered the tour based on our needs, and even met us at a convenient location for us based on our previous tour. He explained all about the history, offered to take photos of us at each stop, plus escorted us to the proper subway platform so we could make it back to Kyoto. We'd highly recommend Hugo to anyone traveling to Osaka!

Mr Hugo was very nice and accommodating and very knowledgeable. It was very cold that day so we didn’t want to spend too much time but didn’t want to miss anything either so we did the entire tour in taxi

We enjoyed the tour thru Osaka Castle and the grounds and the different areas of Osaka and learning some of the history of the areas.
Hugo made our day. We were able to travel quickly between sites while Hugo informed us about culture. This trip was very worthwhile. We had been to Dotombori so we skipped this with Hugo and spent time at Kuromon market where we enjoyed some food. It was a relaxing day and we took the 5 hour trip. We saw sites we would have missed with our limited time and enjoyed our time rather than worrying about getting to the sites.
Our tour guide, Hugo, was fantastic. He gave us all the attention and courtesy you would want to receive on a private walking tour. Hugo guided us on all the public transportation, gave us great talks about the Osaka venues we visited and was able to interact with us with information that made our experience the best.
