Very interesting tour and we learned a lot about the history of Nuremberg, and visited the huge congress hall. The guide Dimitri was excellent, approachable and knowledgeable.
A disappointment though was that the tour did not go to the actual rally grounds site on Zepplinfeld. I walked there after the tour finished and 2 other tours were there. We could easily have gone there as was 10 minutes walk max from where the tour finished. There isn’t much to see as it’s mostly a construction site but you can clearly see where the Nazi hierarchy stood and get a feel for rallies.
I’d suggest this is added to this tour as it stated in the tour title and is the main reason I booked this tour.
We also didn’t visit the castle - the guide said it was too hot to climb the steps to it, our group seemed fine to do it to me though so that was a bit odd.
I’d recommend going in the Documentation Centre after the tour. It’s built in to the Congress Hall and is fascinating and very well done.

Thank you for your review. The tour was modified somewhat that day due to the extreme temperatures. The temperature that afternoon was 36 Celsius (97 Fahrenheit). This may not count as extreme weather where you are from, but it certainly does in Germany. Perhaps the rest of the group would have enjoyed climbing the hill up to the castle under those conditions. Honestly, I very much doubt it.
As far as the zeppelin field, you are correct that there isn’t much to see there and it is a construction site. The areas of the Nazi rally grounds we cover are the Luitpoldhain, Fairgrounds, and Congress Hall, as it says in the tour description. Those areas were all part of the rally grounds, so you did see the rally grounds. We do not have time in only 4 hours to cover all of the old town and rally grounds, so we concentrate on areas that are actually accessible and where there is more to see.

This tour was one of my favorites. In America when something is old we go back a couple of hundreds of years. The monuments and history that we saw on this tour dates back millennia. As a history buff I enjoyed the stops that were tied to the Nazi party's propaganda machine, but even more the tour was focused on the history of the city. We saw the "old town" which had so much to view and understand that one day isn't enough. What made it best was the guide who was extremely knowledgeable and was able to tie the "old" part of the town to more recent events in the 20th century.
A must for all history buffs primarily because of the nexus between old and new city.

The Old Town portion of the event was very interesting and Niklas really knew his stuff. We expected the Rally Grounds portion to be the most interesting portion of the tour, and it was the main reason for booking this event, but because Rock Im Park was getting set up, we could not get very close (though Niklas tried his best, and hopefully won't get in trouble for skirting the fencing) and we could not get much of a feel for the size and scope of the area. We stayed behind and visited the Documentation Center and that was a great add-on to the tour.

We really enjoyed our Nuremberg tour. Our guide Natasha was really friendly, and really knowledgeable of Nuremberg, it's history and it's part in WW2. It was a four hour tour, but didn't feel long, because it was so interesting and enjoyable. There was also a break for a short lunch in the middle. We would totally recommend this combined Nuremberg tour and Natasha as a guide!!

The tour did not go to the Rally Grounds. It was very deceiving where the tour would go. And, the group was HUGE and there were no speakers, so it was very difficult to hear what was being said.

Sorry you were disappointed in the tour, but it doesn’t actually sound like you were on our tour. This tour went to the rally grounds, just as the title says it does.
As far as the group being HUGE, it was a sold out tour of 20 for that tour. Saturdays during the Christmas markets are by far the busiest (and loudest) days of the year in Nuremberg. If you are trying to avoid the crowds, I would strongly recommend avoiding weekends during the Christmas markets.

Our tour guide was Hannes (John) Ziener and he was exceptional. His knowledge about all things Nuremberg was incredible. He loved history and it showed in the information he shared. 4hrs was a long time for a walking tour but it was worth the effort. We covered a lot of ground. I would highly recommend this tour, and hopefully you may be lucky enough to have Hannes as your guide.

Although it was a 4 hour trip don't be put off. The first 2 hours was a walking tour of Nuremberg. The next 2 were dedicated to the Third Reich walk. We took a bus to the Rally grounds which was for about 20 mins so a good time to rest. Nick our guide was amazing. Well informed, humorous and the pace was perfect.

Our tour guide Niklas was fabulous, super knowledgeable and engaging. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour to anyone, not just WW2 or history buffs. I loved the perfect balance of learning about the medieval history of the old town in the morning and then also getting extra time at the Rally Grounds in the afternoon. The time flew by so fast and I learned so much! I especially appreciated all of the photos that Niklas showed us along the tour route to make amazing connections to the past.

A good overview of Old Town . Wish we had more time at the Rally Grounds. A lot of walking but the weather was great. We felt like Dimitri could have shown a little more energy and investment when he was speaking.

You need to be fit enough to walk for circa 4 hours. Be warned the first part of the tour climbs through the old city of Nuremberg up to the Castle, as we are in our mid to late 70's this was quite challenging. Natasha the Guide was superb her Scottish origins certainly meant her English was both smooth and articulate, she made the medieval section of the tour interesting when it could have been quite 'dry'.

Thank you for your review! If you book a 4-hour walking tour it is highly recommended that you be fit enough to walk for 4 hours. However, the 4 hours does include a lunch break and transportation to and from the rally grounds so you're not really on your feet the entire time.

We wanted to do a weekday tour in English and last minute signed up for this one. We are so happy we did. We spent yesterday walking around Nürnberg seeing some of the places that we did today, but our tour guide, Nick, did a fantastic job of educating on so much. He was informative, funny and just all around great! He gave us great recommendations and was easy to talk to. I would recommend this to anyone visiting for the first time or the 40th time!
