All Dresden Tours & Excursions in 2026

Our group of 6 people signed up for this tour after completing our cycling tour. We wanted a brief but comprehensive overview of the history of Dresden before departing. We had Sylvia as our tour guide and she was excellent! It really helped that she is also an architect and could explain the buildings in much more detail. We really enjoyed this wonderful private tour!

Let me start my feedback on the people who made this day possible. First of all, many thanks to our guide Dalibora who provided us with great commentary in both English and Spanish and she offered me her seat next to the driver because the seat I was supposed to sit on was broken. She also helped sorting my lunch at the restaurant when I was served something other than what I ordered. I really appreciated her gestures. She is also a walking encyclopedia, she knew every little detail about the places we visited. Continuing with the people, we actually had 3 drivers during the day. The 1st driver was Milos who didn't speak much English but he also didn't make us feel safe in the van. He used quick steering wheel moves trying not to crash into incoming traffic and he also almost crashed into traffic standing at traffic lights, breaking hardly at the very last minute instead of slowing down normally. These are just a few examples to illustrate my negative feedback on him and the other participants were also complaining about his careless driving. The 2nd driver Milan was fantastic, I had a great chat with him (in English) and he drove safely and carefully. I didn't catch the name of our 3rd driver who drove us back to our hotels but he knew a little English and he was a great driver as well. The experience itself was exactly as advertised, we were taken to great photo spots and walked across the Bastei Bridge before going to visit the Pravčická Archway in Czech Republic, which was a place where hiking shoes are recommended over ordinary sneakers. Then we had lunch where 1 drink was also included, I had a delicious pint of dark Kozel on draft. We then visited the Kamenice Gorge which is absolutely beautiful. We hopped in a boat large enough to fit everyone and went on a lovely boat trip on the Kamenice River. There was a lot of walking the whole day, since I booked the Hiking version of this tour but it was worth it and we had an amazing day.

Really beautiful landscspe sights on this tour making it worthwhile. The guys at Saxon Tours, including young Milo the guide, were professional and friendly, really looked after us well ensuring we had a great experience. Food was excellent, and no hidden costs on the day. Bring change for tips as there are not many opportunities to change money on the Czech side.

This truly was such a wonderful day. Milan & Dalibora were exceptional, friendly, informative & really made the day memorable. The sights we saw in Saxony Switzerland were incredible & every one of them was a highlight. The lunch was very good, with great views to the mountains. Milan was a great driver & Dalibora was a delight. I am very glad I did this tour - the Bastei Bridge, Riverboat Gorge & the Stone “Forest” was amazing 👌👌🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟.

This was a great out of doors experience. We went to 3 different sites, all with there each unique scenery and things that made them special. We also had the perfect weather for this hike, temps in the 50's. It does get chilly up at the top, so layer up. Our guide was Andrea and she was outstanding. She is from the area and knows anything and everything about the sites. Be prepared to walk a lot (I got 20K steps) and the second hike is uphill, so wear comfy shoes or hiking shoes. I would definitely do this tour again.

We had a great tour with Leo, we got to learn about the history of the town, the different beautiful building. He explained about the different eras the city has seen through time. And of course we had the Christmas touch with the history of christmas market and the famous dresden stollen
