This was our favourite activity in Italy - the entire experience was amazing, from the market tour to the cooking class at the gorgeous Tuscan property. Luca and Erika were absolutely phenomenal and we would recommend this tour to everyone! Thank you for all the laughs and lovely food!

Luca, our chef, and Erika, our sous chef, were fantastic. They were supportive as we learned our cooking tasks, as well as being entertaining. We shopped, chopped, sliced, diced and whipped our way through 4 courses. We then enjoyed the fruits of our labor. Delicious! Of course, the view was incredible, typical Tuscany scene, right out of a fairy tale. Would highly recommend this tour.

What To Expect

Your tour begins in central Florence, where you join up with your guide. Walk to a Florentine food market and peruse the stalls, each teeming with the region’s freshest ingredients, including cured meats, olives, cheeses, balsamic vinegar, sun-dried tomatoes, and other Tuscan delicacies. Select some of these high-quality ingredients for your cooking class later in the afternoon and enjoy tastings of the food and wine.

Climb aboard a minibus and journey into the Tuscan hills and drive to a rustic farmhouse. Under the guidance of an expert chef, prepare a full Tuscan meal. Discover the culinary secrets behind Tuscan cuisine, from slow-cooked meat sauces to whipping up Italian pasta from scratch. Everything you make is seasonal but the menu may include roast pork, bruschetta, and tiramisu.

Finally, reward yourself with your 4-course meal. Complement your delicious food with Tuscan wine and good conversation. Return to central Florence and receive all the recipes by email so you can impress family and friends back at home with your Italian dishes.

We had such a blast the whole day! Luca was so much fun. He kept us laughing all day long. He showed us great spots at the market, where he bought ingredients for our class. Then they took us over to the magnificent property. The view was incredible! We had a great time preparing our lunch, and enjoyed the view as we ate. The food was amazing! We are so glad we booked this. It was honestly the highlight of our trip to Italy.

Tuscan Cooking Class

This is an experience that should not be missed! You start at the Mercado Centrale, do your shopping for the day whilst getting a fantastic education from the guide, in our case Luca. He clearly was well known, and liked, each vendor had prepared a little sample plate that we sampled cheese, etc from. Luca was an absolute delight! He made everyone smile, laugh and feel included. The setting for the “kitchen” is nothing but spectacular with a million dollar view and thoughtful staff that gret you upon arrival and hustle behind the scenes to keep everything moving. Our menu was bruschetta, fresh pasta, bolognese, stuffed pork loin and rosemary potatoes with tiramisu to end the meal. We prepared it as team while Luca and Erica demoed. We were served wine while we noshed all afternoon. I can’t tell you how beautiful the setting is. Open concept kitchen, outdoor pizza oven space and long tables set for the afternoons meal. It was the highlight of our trip and as a family we’ll remember Luca for a long time! To Luca with love! Allora!

Luca is a character. He made the whole experience fun! His colleague Erika was very engaging also. Together they were able to convey the techniques of common Tuscan cuisine. I learned some techniques that I will certainly employ in my kitchen. Surprisingly, making pasta is simple and fun!!

This cooking class was recommended to us by friends who attended it three years ago. It was highly recommended, and still exceeded our expectations. Luca and Erika were fabulous. The food was amazing, the show was even better. We loved the tour of the Mercato. It was so neat to see all of the local producers in the market and purchase our meat, cheese and vegetables right from the source. The estate is beyond beautiful pictures cannot even describe how “Tuscan” it really is. You simply cannot come to Florence and not take this class. I cannot wait to go back to the states and try to re-create these recipes. Pasta has never seemed easier to make, the Bolognese was better than anything I’ve ever prepared myself, and tiramisu is my favorite dessert so it’s amazing to be able to make it myself now. My husband had probably a better time than I even did. The jokes and banter and engagement kept him included the entire time, and he doesn’t love, organized tours, and excursions when we are on trips. All in all, I would go back and do this again. I highly recommend to anyone who is in the area to give this a shot.

Cooking with Luca and Erika should be a must when traveling to Florence. You are met by Luca at the train station and you will immediately feel entertained and welcomed. He has a great sense of humor as well as a seasoned chef. We started at the market where he is well known, he showed us a little bit of everything and we shopped for our class. Travelled by bus to the vineyards, beautiful tuscan style location, we where met by Erika, his sous chef. Together they made this an amazing experience with a four course dinner where we all got involved. Truly our favorite day of our 10 days stay in Florence. Food was delicious, the laughs were great and the view memorable!

Incredible Florentine Cooking Experience with Chef Luca!

This is a “don’t miss” experience in Florence which is great for families with older kids. I was traveling with my 13 year old son who is an experienced cook and was a bit skeptical about what he could learn in a tourist cooking class. Our main instructor was Chef Luca who lead us through the Mercato Centrale in Florence and taught us about shopping for Tuscan ingredients. We then headed to the site of our cooking class in the hills outside Florence. It was a beautifully situated estate with plenty of room for our class to spread out and learn the techniques of pasta making, as well as preparing the other dishes on our menu (bruschetta pomodoro, ragu di Manzo, roasted pork loin, and tiramisu). Chef Luca was a star and made the experience enjoyable for my son & I from start to finish. I highly recommend this tour to anyone spending time in the Florence area. Thank you, Chef Luca!
