All Ulaanbaatar Tours & Excursions in 2026

It is a relaxing trip where you get your own driver. That means it can be flexible if you wish. Our driver was very helpful and had a great sense of humour. We saw what we hoped to see and avoided the riding, but that was our decision. Highly recommend this tour.

A great time with a lovely gracious couple who provided us with an authentic taste of Mongolia and much insight about the culture. A very unique and special experience from the Ger home, to food prep and sampling of Mongolian staples, learning traditional games, and enjoying our hosts singing.

I had 3 tour guides while in Mongolia and Iggy (Erden) was definitely the best. He speaks English fluently and went to Univeristy of Las Vegas. I booked the chinggis khan statue/turtle rock tour as well as the overnight semi gobi/karakorum tour. They were both great. For the overnight semi gobi/karakorum tour, my main concern was making sure my 70 year old mother was going to be comfortable and avoid injury. It was comfortable being guided by Iggy. Frequent restroom stops, detailed knowledgeable explanations especially all my questions about the nomads and Mongolian culture. I also appreciated how after I told him we had lunch 2 days in a row with nomads he chose a restaurant instead for lunch for us. The semi gobi was pretty much what was described - a small gobi closer to the city. We skipped the camel riding option because I didn’t want my mom to have any accidents. Then we visited a nomad family that was used to having visitors. It was nice seeing them collect cashmere from the goats and taking pics with the animals. The animals there were amazing. One of the options for accommodations was to stay with that family in their guest ger but I’m glad we didn’t because it didn’t look too comfortable. Then after that he drove us to karakorum which was awesome to see the ancient capital of the mongols. Iggy was great at explaining things. Then I was a bit nervous about the accommodations (because I thought it was going to look like one of the typical gers the nomads stayed in) but it was a really nice ger resort that was very comfortable with private bathroom and heating. As well as a really nice restaurant with nice food that was pre ordered for us by Iggy. It was the best meal I had in Mongolia. One of my favorite things at the resort was to borrow their traditional Mongolian costumes and walk around taking pictures. It was nice to spend a night there, then in the morning there was breakfast then Iggy came to get us and we headed back to UB. Good amount of bathroom breaks, then lunch was included on the way back, then got back to UB. Overall Iggy had the best explanations, timing, and quality - I felt comfortable and safe bringing my 70 year old mom along to experience Mongolia. Would definitely recommend him to others !

The service was great and professional. I sent email asking for suggested return time to airport and they responded in a timely fashion. The driver at the airport was easy to find and very professional and friendly. He was perfectly on time for the return trip.

This was a great trip. Navigating traffic in Ulaan Baatar is always a struggle but my guide was patient, efficient, and safe. His English was excellent and we had great conversations about life in Mongolia and my home in Canada. The Chinggis Khaan statue is enormous. I think we were the only ones there that day probably because it was -25C that morning. We had a light lunch in a nomad’s ger where we were served Mongolian fried rice and hot milk. Just the perfect lunch on a cold day. We went to the Meditation Temple but didn’t make the short climb because of the cold and wind. It was a truly enjoyable trip.

I had a truly wonderful experience exploring Ulaanbaatar and its surroundings with Byamba. He was exceptionally helpful, knowledgeable, and supportive throughout the trip, making my time in Mongolia memorable and enjoyable. Byamba took me to see the magnificent Chinggis Khan Statue Complex, the beautiful Terelj National Park, Zaisan Hill Monument. He even took me to tradional dance Mongolian which was amazing and is recommend and several local highlights around the city. He shared fascinating insights about Mongolian history, culture, and daily life, which really brought each place to life. What stood out most was his genuine kindness and willingness to help with anything I needed from taking great photos to ensuring I was comfortable at all times. His professionalism, patience, and warm personality made the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. I would highly recommend Byamba to anyone visiting Mongolia. He’s not just a guide he’s someone who makes you feel welcome, looked after, and connected to this incredible country. Thank you so much Byamba.

We had such a great time with Olivia! She picked us up at our hotel a bit early to avoid the new traffic rules in Ulaanbaatar and as a result we arrived at the Genghis statue before it opened. This meant that we got to walk around it without any other people and, best of all, once it opened we were in the first group to go to the top so no long lines. We had told her that we wanted to go for a camel ride and she recommended that we not ride the camels at the statue but wait until we got to Turtle Rock because the background was better. Wow, was she right! (BTW, we had thought about taking a separate tour to the semi Gobi for the camel ride experience there, but I honestly have to say that after 15 or so minutes on a camel, I was perfectly content. So if you want to scratch your camel riding itch you can certainly do it without spending a full day driving). Everything about our tour was excellent. Olivia was personable and fun to be with. If you have the opportunity to book a tour with her then do so!
