Having a personal guide for three hours was a treat while we toured the historical parts of Toledo. Our guide was very well versed in the history of the ancient city. We learned a lot and found the information and sites to be fascinating . There were other places to see but we had reached our saturation point( it was a very hot day) and felt satisfied by all we saw and learned. I would have liked to spend more time looking at El Greco’s art, if I could. . On the day of the tour our guide helped me through an odd situation regarding the actual time for the cathedral tour. I received entry tickets an hour before it was open. I bought them from the actual cathedral office website so the tour agency had nothing to do with the confusion. Our guide took me to see their ticket seller at the Cathedral and he made sure we could get inside evening even though it was an hour plus later than our timed tour. He checked the validity of the tickets and they were authentic and paid for. Why a time was on the sight is the mystery. There was frustration on my part with inadequate communications with the service department of the tour agency. I found the examination of the personally planned tour to be vague. It took too long for me to wrap my might around what our tour would include and tried to get in touch with their customer service agent before our trip, but what I heard back was not satisfactory. I was trying to figure out logistics and our tour choices. It was the day before the date I heard directly from our guide and she further explained and answered my questions. She was very professional and I appreciated it. It was the customer service department’s lack of communication that caused confusion with conflicting information and did not provide specific answers as I requested on several occasions. The private tour was more expensive( twice the amount of the group tour and I wanted to make sure we understood what we would see and learn. In the end I was pleased with the tour but the aggravation before hand could have been eliminated quickly yet it was not. As it was, the personalized aspect of the tour never happened. I tried to gain an understanding of our offerings so I could actually select what we saw. The guide selected what we did and it turned out fine . A general tour of three areas in the city took up our three hour allotment.

We had an amazing full-day tour with Carmen! She was so incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about Toledo history. Carmen asked us about our interests so she could tailor our schedule for the day, and she also asked us if we had any food allergies/dietary restrictions so she could recommend meal options. I have Celiac and she found us a great restaurant for lunch that even had gluten-free beer! Highly recommend this tour and especially Carmen. 🤗

Fascinating mix of cultures & some magnificent art by Spanish masters

Moors, Jews & Christians all in one place but not at the same time. The architecture is so intermixed. A sometimes surprising & fascinating 3 hour tour with Ana as my guide & Carlos as my driver. Having a driver cuts down on the walking. There is wonderful Spanish art. There are cardinals hats hanging over tombs. & a Star of David in a stained glass window. The synagogue is not closed on the Sabath as far as I could tell but the churches are closed during services so check first if you plan a tour on Sunday. I paid 3 entry fees for a total of 20€.

A quaint gem, Toledo is fascinating to explore. We can’t imagine anyone guiding us better than Enrique, whose family has lived there for many generations. His passion and knowledge of his hometown combined with his love of history made his tour an enchanting exploration of this must see city. An easy 30-min train ride from Madrid, we highly recommend spending a day in Toledo… and definitely ask for Enrique to be your guide! Wear sneakers or walking shoes. Many hills and cobblestone streets. And don’t miss the outstanding cathedral!

A highlight of our stay in Madrid

My father and I visited Madrid for work and on Sunday which was a free day booked this excursion to Toledo. It was definitely the highlight of our stay! Rosa, our guide tour, was exceptional and a true delight! Roberto, our driver, was kind and attentive! This was a wonderful way to experience Toledo and learn about the history of the city from a local guide. We were picked up and dropped off easily at our hotel in Madrid. Ana began the tour by stopping at various sites outside the city walls to explain the history of Toledo and show us beautiful views of the city. We then were able to see the major attractions in Toledo, and Ana provided helpful insight throughout the tour. We opted for the 3 hour private tour and 3 hours of free time, which allowed us to gain knowledge about the city from Ana and explore some on our own. Ana gave helpful recommendations about where to eat for lunch and which shops had the most authentic souvenirs. Would absolutely recommend this tour as a great way to experience Toledo in a day!

Toledo is amazingly stunning. The sites and historical significance of this place was made more beautiful through the expertise and guidance of our tour guide, Yolanda Navarro. She was simply amazing. Born and raised in Toledo, she gave us, a family of 8, ranging from 11 to 78 years old the perspective of one who understands Toledo and can give its visitors the necessary guidance of a local. Tours are only as good as the tour guide(s) who present them. Yolanda was simply the best. Highly recommended tour.

Our guide, Enrique, was absolutely amazing. He grew up in Toledo and was a wealth of knowledge about the town, the three main religions and kept the conversation super interesting for both adults and kids. I highly recommend touring with Enrique and going to see the beautiful town of Toledo

Wonderful tour. We were picked up from our hotel in Madrid in a luxury van & met our guide Ana in Toledo. From the moment we met Ana, we knew we were in for a memorable experience. Ana is local to Toledo & extremely knowledgeable. She even shared little known details that maximized our tour. This coupled with tips & humor made our tour the best yet. Strongly recommend this tour group.

The Best Thing We Did in Spain!

Toledo is a fascinating city with so much history and very much worth a visit. But what made this experience so worthwhile was our time with Enrique. He is SO knowledgeable about Toledo history (he is an historian/archivist by training), but explains it all clearly and in interesting, bite-sized chunks that are easy to understand. The best part is that he’s from Toledo, so we got to see the house he grew up in, the Cathedral was his home church so we got to see where he sang in the choir, etc. And it seems like he knows everyone in town! That made the morning so special—it wasn’t just some random tour, but instead a very personalized experience with lots of fascinating details that ended up being our favorite experience on our whole trip. Definitely worth it!
