What are people saying about Tokyo

Great souvenir with friendly staff! (Maybe plan for some extra costs)
This was a quick but fun experience with a great keepsake souvenir! Be aware that two types of wood are included but the more premium can run several thousand yen. The engraving is also a separate cost, but worth it in my opinion.
Thank you, Mimi, for your help and your friendly attitude while we were making our chopsticks! We had a great time!

We thought it was just a way to pass time and get away from the heat, but it turned out to be so so much more!
This was such a fun activity (even my 18 year old boy loved it)! We actually hadn’t planned on doing it. Honestly, we just needed an escape from the heat and a time killer off of our feet before the sumo show nearby. I remembered seeing this activity in Viator awhile ago and decided to look it up again - they had an appointment available in 20 minutes, so we snagged it! And, we were SO glad we did!!! It really was a great time and a wonderful (and useful) item to bring home.

The studio was easy find...
The studio was easy find in the Ginza area - so, as we booked the class, we made that or Ginza day. Started right on time. The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful - and we got four self made, customized and personalized chopsticks in the end!!
Would highly recommend for all. I have two teenagers so they were fine, but I also saw kids much younger doing this.

Gem in Asakusa
I had a great time at this knife making class in Asakusa. The instructor was very knowledgeable and explained the sharpening process in a way that was easy to understand, even for a complete beginner like me.
It was fascinating to learn about Japanese knives and the techniques used to maintain them properly. The hands-on practice was the highlight of the experience, and I was surprised by how much sharper my knife became by the end of the class.

10/10 would do again!
I did the Kintsugi workshop with my family and it was so fun!! First, you get to select which piece you’d like to work with. Each piece is pre-broken. Most are one crack (broken in two pieces) but some have 3 pieces. The 3 pieces are definitely harder/take longer, FYI. The workshop is supposed to be 1.5 hours; we took closer to 2 hours.
Our teacher, Mayuki, told us this was her second time teaching and she did wonderfully!! She led us through the process step by step and also told us a bit about the history and lore behind Kintsugi.
I would recommend this, even for folks who aren’t “artsy” or good with their hands. It wa such a fun experience.
My only feedback is that the studio we were working in had several class sessions going on at once so it was hard to hear our instructor sometimes. The process of filing the edges created a lot of dust and so I’d definitely recommend wearing a mask so you don’t breathe the dust in. They don’t tell you to do so but safety wise, I’d highly recommend!!

Best chopstick making class in Toyko! Go here no joke!
Just finished a chopstick-making class in Shibuya and it was easily one of the best experiences I’ve had in Japan. The two gentlemen running it are incredibly hands-on the entire time—they really guide you through every step so you’re not just watching, you’re actually creating something you’re proud of.
They’re also super friendly and welcoming, which makes the whole experience feel relaxed and personal rather than like a typical class. One thing I really appreciated is how small they keep the group sizes. It never felt rushed—they made sure to spend real, quality time with each person.
On top of that, they gave amazing recommendations for food spots and places to check out in different towns, which honestly made the experience even more valuable.
10 out of 10 recommend. If you’re considering a chopstick-making class in Shibuya, do this one over any other.

Fantastic experience!
The rings we made are beautiful and we were involved in every step. We had so many choices including metal colour and which side of the coin to make into the ring. They also let us make a pendant/necklace out of the centre of the coin with the option to add a chain as well. Would highly recommend!

Fun experience, highly recommended!!!
This was one of the highlights of our trip for sure!! Our host was incredible: knowledgeable, fun and accommodating to all the guests. We learned about ninja as well as samurai and got to wear authentic clothes, work with swords, throwing starts and so much more. A great way to spend the day.

Wonderful Paper Making Experience near Senso-ji in Asakusa
I had the pleasure of taking this class with Fuji. You get to wear the traditional workwear, learn about the process and get real hands on experience making the paper. The shop is so quaint near the Senso-ji shrine, but had so many beautiful traditional Japanese papers and paper related gifts. Highly recommend!

This was such a highlight...
This was such a highlight of our trip with our two kids (10 and 12). It was a pleasure to meet everyone at the dojo. Such an educational and unique experience. Our interpreter was so knowledgeable and was part of a long line of samurais. We loved this!

Fun activity to make a memento of your trip!
We had a very good experience here! We accidentally went to a different Nane location and were almost an hour late for our appointment. the staff messaged us and helped us go to the right place. They were so kind and patient with us! They explained all the different options we have when making a ring! Ring shape, width, metal, and design. I can't emphasize enough how patient the staff was. They taught us how to hammer and size our own rings, so much fun!!!! We had our rings polished as well, and they took only an hour and a half until they were ready. They have silver, white gold. Rose gold, yellow gold, and green gold, as well as combinations of each of the metals! We added on engraving option for a very good price too! I definitely recommend coming here!

Fun DIY experience!
The experience was very fun! It had a good edutainment aspect of value that I enjoyed. The ceramic was pre-broken for us to choose, I wish there were more style varieties to choose from. The instructions were very clear and the video was also easy to follow. I think it would be good to extent the estimated experience time to 1.25 hrs as it seems like people took extra time to create their kintsugi plates and ask questions. I think the value of the experience was quite worth it and they also sell a kit you can take home to try out.
