5 hour Electric Bike Tour to the Ruins of Italica

Exercise and archeology - nothing better!

I did this e-bike tour to Italica earlier this week with Danny as our guide, and it was definitely one of the highlights of my time in Seville. I was traveling solo but joined a group, and it was a very comfortable experience. Everyone did well on the bikes, helmets were provided, and the electric assist made the ride smooth and easy. The bikes were also very easy to maneuver, and once we were out of the city center, the riding was especially relaxed with very few obstructions. One thing worth knowing is that the bike ride itself isn't particularly scenic the entire way. You pass through Camas, which is a bit more industrial, but don't let that put you off because the destination is absolutely worth it. Arriving to Italica and exploring the archaeological site was spectacular. It's amazing to see how much has been excavated and how much of the ancient city you can actually walk through and experience. Danny did a great job giving us the history and context while there as well as showing us some interesting places in Santiponce. I really enjoyed this tour. It's a great way to get outside the center of Seville, see something completely different, get some exercise without the bike ride being strenuous, and visit a fascinating historical site. Highly recommend!
