All Ponta Delgada Tours & Excursions in 2026

On our e-bike around Sete Cidades the weather started off cold and wet. Warren , our guide asked us several times if we still wanted to go and told us we could get a refund if we wanted to stop. We all wanted to continue. Even in the cold and blustery winds we had the best time. Warren was informative and made sure we all were good the whole time. The scenery was fabulous and the information was great. I would do this again any chance given. Don't let a little wind deter you as the weather got sunny and a tad warmer down by the lake. Cannot recommend this tour enough.

Carlos was very informative. He took the time to answer all our questions with great detail and was very knowledgeable about the island and its history. The Cozido das Furnas at Tony’s restaurant was amazing! Follow that up with a visit to the hot springs at Terra Nossa Park. It was the perfect day. Highly recommend this trip!!

2 deck ship was very comfortable both on viewing deck as well as enclosed cabin. Temperature was pleasant for sweatshirt covered by windbreaker for 3/4 of trip on view deck. 30 min return was more comfy in side out of wind. Crews was great in assisting getting around and language was little barrier. English understood and well spoken and translated. Marine heads were the best and cleanest we’ve ever encountered. Speaking host was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We highly recommend.

If you’re visiting Ponta Delgada and thinking about exploring Furnas, do yourself a favor and book this tour… and hope you get Joaquin. From the moment we were picked up at the port, everything was seamless and stress-free. Joaquin wasn’t just a driver, he was an incredible guide who brought the entire island to life. His knowledge of the Azores, especially the volcanic history of Furnas, was impressive, but what really stood out was how naturally he shared it. It never felt like a lecture, more like traveling with a very knowledgeable friend who genuinely loves where he lives. The small group made a huge difference. We never felt rushed, and Joaquin tailored the experience so it felt personal rather than scripted. As we drove through the countryside, the views were already stunning, but his commentary added so much depth. Every stop had context, stories, and little details we would have completely missed on our own. Furnas itself is something else entirely. Seeing the volcanic activity up close at the lake, learning about the traditional cooking methods, and then soaking in the thermal hot springs was just unreal. Sitting in those warm mineral waters surrounded by lush greenery felt like something out of another world. Joaquin made sure we experienced the best of everything, from scenic viewpoints to hidden gems, all while keeping the day relaxed and enjoyable. The transportation was comfortable, the timing was perfect, and the entire experience felt incredibly well thought out. This wasn’t just a tour, it was one of those travel days you end up talking about long after the trip is over. If you get Joaquin as your guide, you’ve already won.

Very comprehensive view of many natural elements and towns across the entire island. Informational and fun at the same time. Andrea did everything she could for us but weather didn’t always cooperate. However because the first day was foggy she made an extra effort to go to some of the same places I missed on the first day. She was happy and upbeat and I would totally recommend her. Pedro was another driver who was very helpful and funny. Best tour in a short period of time

This experience allowed us to see a good portion of this beautiful island by hitting many spots of interest. Sergio was an outstanding tour guide and very knowledgeable, as well as accommodating of any special requests. Definitely a must do when you’re only able to stay a few days on São Miguel.

I joined the canyoning tour with Ipa and Warren back in August (yes, writing a bit late) — and honestly, what an unforgettable experience! The guides were super encouraging and fun — thanks to them I managed to jump from heights I never thought I could! The zip line was definitely my favorite part, pure joy and adrenaline! Also loved that they captured everything with a GoPro — getting the photos by email afterward was such a great surprise and a perfect way to relive the memories. Huge thanks to both Ipa and Warren for making the adventure feel safe, exciting, and full of laughter. Let’s just say this experience left me not only with great memories but also with a huge smile that lasted long after the tour!

Great time being out in the open air and seeing many areas in the Western half of Sao Miguel, Azores in the Dune Buggies!!! Great guide and the rest of the people in our group were great! The only thing I would recommend to add to the trip is to provide goggles for everyone as especially with wet roads you get a lot of road debris thrown back at your face. Sunglasses are not quite enough protection by themselves! Great trip and would definitely do it again!!!
