Not your typical butterfly garden tour—this experience is a fully immersive adventure on an organic, off-grid jungle ecofarm. Rather than viewing butterflies from a distance, you’re invited into their environment at the most active and magical time of day: sunset, when Owl Butterflies especially are vibrantly alive and interactive. You’ll have the rare opportunity to be in close, natural contact with the butterflies as they move freely around you—often landing directly on you—creating a playful and memorable connection with wildlife. The experience is further enhanced by sensory elements like sound bowls, along with optional time to swim in a crystalline river and relax in hammocks before the tour begins. Blending nature, education, and gentle adventure, this experience offers a uniquely personal and peaceful way to connect with wild jungle creatures.

Tikal National Park covers 575 square kilometers of jungle and thousands of structures in ruins. Only the central part of the old city contains 3,000 buildings and covers about 16 square kilometers. Tikal is also part of the Mayan Biosphere Reserve of one million hectares created in 1990 to protect the dense forests of Petén, which began to disappear at an alarming rate due to population pressures, illegal logging and agricultural practices of felling and burning. Archaeologists estimate that the Maya settled in the area now known as Tikal in approximately 900 BC.
