Had a fantastic experience on the Jack the Ripper tour! Betina was an amazing guide, super engaging, knowledgeable, and brought the history to life in such a captivating way. The walk through Whitechapel was immersive and really atmospheric, and I appreciated how she balanced storytelling with historical context, while also giving respectful attention to the victims. Highly recommend this tour if you’re in London, definitely worth it!

Martin was an excellent guide to go back in time with. He kept the tour informative but fun. For a two hour it went quick. While we don’t know who Jack is from the tour we have our suspects and know a lot more about the victims.

Overview

Many Jack the Ripper tours focus on sensational details rather than historical context. This guided walking tour takes a different approach by centering on the lives of the victims and the social conditions of Victorian London. Walk through the streets of Whitechapel while learning about Jack's victims—Polly, Annie, Elizabeth, Catherine, and Mary Jane—and how poverty, housing, and employment shaped their lives. Your guide explains how the crimes affected the local community, offering a more thoughtful way to understand this chapter of London’s history without relying on shock-driven storytelling.
  • The concise tour fits perfectly into busy itineraries
  • Go beyond the guidebooks as you challenge your knowledge of the crimes
  • Journey to the real streets and locations connected to the 1888 Whitechapel murders
  • Gain insight into a well-known story through lesser-told accounts—something many miss out on

Why Travellers Choose This Tour

Unlike many Ripper walking tours, your guide centers the victims, not the criminal.

Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. It was interesting to see all these locations live and hear some extra facts.

Highly recommend

We arrived 12 minutes early and our host was already there to greet us. She was very knowledgeable about the whole history and provided visual aids. As a tourist who had never been to Whitechapel, we passed through a covered shopping center and also a street food vendor street, where we got lunch after the tour!

It was great! Got quite cold so bring warm layers:) Our guide was fantastic, full of energy and set the scene very well. I’m sorry I can’t recall his name but it started with an A, I think. Highly recommend!

Ivan was our guide tonight and a wealth of knowledge. He gave us insight on the historical context of Whitechapel and the conditions of women that lived in it. Indeed we will now remember the name of the five women that were victims of a serial killer we will never know the name of.

An excellent walking tour that focuses on the victims (including all the ways they did not get the treatment in life or death they deserved) and the history of the area. Gabby is a great storyteller and has significant knowledge to share.

The victims of Jack the Ripper

Alessia_B, Apr 2026
It was very interesting to learn about Jack the Ripper but also the East End. Martin did a good job keeping it light hearted and was engaging with his tales. My only issue is that, with 32 people on the tour, it was sometimes hard to hear him and that spoiled the experience somewhat

Excellent tour!

Janine_w, Apr 2026
Really informative. The guide made it a fun experience. Would definitely recommend. We did the 7pm tour which took us into sunset and dark. Definitely made the experience a little more authentic

This was a really insightful look into London in the 1800s and I liked all the detail on the victims, not just the crimes, and what life was like back then. Gabby was very knowledgeable and good story teller to set the scene.

Highly Recommend

James_C, Apr 2026
A fascinating walk in the shoes of a murderer. I appreciated the focus on the victims more than the Ripper. Marina was a great guide. Highly recommend for anyone interested in the Ripper, history, or just seeing an interesting part of London.

Fantastic!

Honestly we didn’t know if this was something we’d enjoy but it came so highly recommended by family and friends that we said we’d do it. It was fantastic, the tour was really informative, interesting and well researched. If you can it’s well worth doing the night tour like we did! A great experience.

Must see in London

Ivan was a great tour guide. Very informative and interesting tour. Highly recommend. The mystery is left unsolved, but it was a unique experience to follow in “Jack’s” footsteps

BEST Darn Ghost Tour and Dark History Tour!!!

Katie_S, Mar 2026
WOW! What an amazing tour! This was not just any old Ghost tour, but a History and Dark History tour at that! We were amazed by Arthur's knowledge, facts and just plain enthusiasm for the subjects at hand. His personality is amazing! We loved our tour and pints. Gotta say We're super spoiled after this Ghost tour/Dark History Tour. I don't think anyone else can compare to him. If we find ourselves back in London we will be booking a tour again with him. DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS TOUR!!! Worth every penny! (Fyi this tour was a cold rainy day, and it didn't stop him or us from having a wonderful time!)

Super fun

Tess_M, Mar 2026
The tour was fun and Nick was engaging. Can’t believe how much material there is on the topic. Makes me want to rewatch From Hell.

A fantastic insight to the Ripper and life in Victorian London

daniel_j, Mar 2026
A fantastic walking tour around Whitechapel and the City of London, full of facts, clues and theories on who the Ripper may have been (keep in mind the identity was never proven), and the story of each victim. The walk is at a steady pace, and along the way we learn about life in London and of the etymology of a number of phrases that came from life in the area at the time (hangover, for example). "murder" tours aren't usually my thing but I think this has triggered a new intrigue in learning about the dark history of cities

Superb tour with excellent information.

Lesley_M, Mar 2026
Superb tour guide. Bettina was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The tour had great information and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Informative Tour

Jules_W, Feb 2026
Arne was a great tour guide. He told the stories of the women sensitively whilst still providing the facts and creating the feel of Victorian London. We really got a sense of the history of the place.

A "Ripping" good time!

Tammy_E, Feb 2026
Gabby is fabulously knowledgeable in the story of the five women victims and the horrific ways they were killed. She has a way of making you think about who the Ripper could possibly be! Gabby was also very engaging with her tour guests and make us feel welcomed.

Martin is a very personable guide and gave us tons of great info on what happened at the sites we visited. Also played a guessing game about who we think was Jack.

Good tour to kill time.
