Captain Denise and the amazing Alaskan wildlife

The timing of this excursion dovetailed perfectly with our cruise all-aboard times. We had such an enjoyable time with Captain Denise aboard the Tail Chaser. Denise, a native of the island, shared stories passed down through generations of her ancestors. Her tribal elders gave her permission to share these special stories. I felt like we saw some very special wildlife—a few humpback whales, playful porpoises, eagles, sea lions, and more. Denise kept us safe and warm even amidst the rain and Alaskan elements.

Excellent Experience!

The captain, I believe Rusty or Richie was great! The deckhands Morgan and Marissa? were also fantastic! They got to know everyone aboard personally and made it a great experience. The kids got to see and touch tons of sea life that they had aboard the boat. They water fine are were fun too and if you didn’t want o get wet, you could go inside the boat. Overall a fantastic experience and I highly recommend- great for everyone, especially kids.

If you dont want a crowded tour, this is the one to book! The vessel was easy to move about and there was enough room to move about and see everything. The lady's dealing with orders were fantastic and so was the boat crew. Can't wait to come back for another tour!

A great May 2026 Whale Watching Tour!

Great experience seeing humpbacks and other marine wildlife. We were on the 9a tour on May 21st 2026. The announcer was fantastic. She was knowledgeable and as excited as everyone to see whales which was great because she helped point out where they were and where we should look. The boat wasn't too crowded so everyone got a good look at the wildlife. In addition to the whales we saw two different species of dolphins, seal lions, seals, pelicans, and other birds. The announcer again did a great job of pointing them all out and giving us a little bit of good information on them. Overall a very good experience.

Fascinating experience

The experience was fascinating, although I would have liked more information about the animals sited. We saw a variety of marine life. I enjoyed the sailor songs by one of the employees. All tourists need to wear a waterproof jacket and stay outside of the inner cabin. The ride outbound was wet & rough as expected. (Everyone who stayed inside got seasick!)

Life saving cruise!

Captain Mike and crewmate Eric were fantastic. Very knowledgeable of the area and explained things very well. They took some time to save a distressed person in the gulf, brought that person to safety at the dock and then returned to our tour. We watched as they saved a person from severe injury or possible death and did it with precision and expertise.

Enjoyed that there were deck areas to watch from as well as a seated interior area. The staff would make sure to point out any spotted dolphins or sea life so everyone had a chance to move to the area and look. We were lucky enough to see a mother dolphin and her baby. Some dolphins were riding on the wakes of the boat and playing alongside us. Great experience!

Definitely worth it while visiting HH! Wendy was our tour guide and she was phenomenal and great with kids. We brought our 6 year old and 18 month old. We saw so many dolphins on the 10am ride. The kids loved it. They also got to sit in the captains chair and get little souvenirs at the end. The boat Also has a restroom on board if the kids need it. Would highly recommend!

Super fun activity

We really enjoyed this. You spend 30 minutes on the sand bank and we saw jelly fish, star fish, sand dollars and clams. You could take back anything that was not alive. On the boat, we encountered a few pods of dolphins and got very close- super cool. They let the kids (and some adults) drive the boat also and got a captain’s pin.

Payton’s spring break surprise

Our Captain had an eagle eye for spotting whales. Our crew was awesome and very polite! Purchasing online was great. ? Maybe the “checking in place” could ask about where we parked, to avoid this next mistake! We parked in the wrong spot! Hefty fines! Be aware of all signage!

The dolphins and sunset did not disappoint!

A fabulous evening on our sunset dolphin cruise. We were just a few minutes from our departure when the first dolphins were spotted . The captain was very knowledgeable and the dolphins were plentiful! The sunset was gorgeous as well. I would definitely book this again when I return to HH.

Fantastic Experience!!

Great work by the entire team! The boat got out to the waters quickly and we saw Humpback Whales and Dolphins - we even stayed out there for about an hour checking out the sea life. In addition to the great sea life, the tour guides were very knowledgeable and helpful throughout. I highly recommend! 10/10 I will add as the only caveat, we went out in late October, so the seas were choppy at times. While I never get seasick, it looked like quite a few people did on the voyage... Just remember before booking if you are prone to it.
