What are people saying about Tamarindo

Great views, fun excursion
This was a fun sunset cruise. The views from the catamaran were amazing and we enjoyed the stop to snorkel and eat lunch. It was a little scary that the open bar was available prior to snorkeling, but all’s well that ends well? The boat guides were super nice and laid back - made for a very enjoyable afternoon.

Super fun!
We had a wonderful time on the catamaran cruise! The snorkeling was great, and the sunset was absolutely beautiful. The food provided was delicious, and we really enjoyed the smaller, more intimate feel of the boat—it felt almost like a fun family outing with the other passengers. The meeting place was also very easy to find. Overall, a fantastic experience we would definitely recommend!

Adventure-filled day!
It’s a full day so bring some snacks and water bottles filled with water. Bring tips for the nature tour guide, the tubing guide and the all-day guide. The tubing can get rough if it has recently rained so the tubes should be clipped to at least one other. We went when it had been dry and my tube still flipped. If it hadn’t been for frebasio who tubed with our party, who knows the river backwards and forwards, I could have gotten badly hurt. He and Allen, our all-day guide, were wonderful. We saw several animals and native trees/plants, the gorgeous waterfall and a very fun time tubing the river with many exciting rapids!

Beautiful day at Llanos...
Beautiful day at Llanos de Cortes. We swam in the natural pool surrounding the waterfall. Pleasant temperature. Worth a quick swim and some great photos. Saw Howler monkeys in the trees above. Next we went to the Sloth natural reserve. Saw 3-4 sloths but were treated by one climbing down from his tree to take care of his weekly bathroom run. Also saw lots of other wildlife here. The lunch was amazing with lots of native Costa Rican foods. Toucans played in the trees right by our dining area. Finally we made it to Rio Celeste only in time for it to pour. We did successfully make it to the falls but the water lost its blue color due to all the silt from the rain. The falls did have an impressive amount of water pouring down. As the rain finished up, we headed back down and all the wildlife emerged- a family of Coati, a Capuchin monkey, a Motmot, an anole, walking sticks, etc. We all very much enjoyed the day.
