What are people saying about Cascada de Misol-Ha (Misol-Ha Waterfall)

Shuttle to the waterfalls
This is basically a taxi service where you are driven to the first waterfall, where you stay for 30 minutes, then Agua Azul where you stop for two and a half hours.
The driver only speaks Spanish (not his fault, I only speak English) but uses his mobile whilst driving. This is his fault, totally unnecessary and unacceptable when you are driving a bus load of 10 people.

Mayan ruins
It's a great experience you get to admire the Mayan ruins experience history and the water falls and many merchants selling very beautiful pieces

Well worth the 18 hour day
I recently took the tour to Cascadas de Agua Azul, Misol-Ha, and the Palenque Archaeological Zone, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The itinerary was well organized, and each stop offered something unique and memorable. Be prepared, it is a looong day, but well worth it.
Our first stop was at a breakfast buffet, which was sufficient, but mediocre ($120 peso). Then, we made our way to Agua Azul, where the turquoise waters and layered falls were even more stunning in person, although the waters were a bit diluted due to runoff. We had ample time to walk along the pathways, take photos, visit the surrounding markets, and enjoy the scenery. Misol-Ha was equally impressive—a powerful single-drop waterfall surrounded by lush jungle and howler monkeys. The trail (and cave) behind the falls added a fun sense of adventure.
The highlight of the day was undoubtedly Palenque. Our guide provided insightful context about the site’s history, architecture, and cultural significance, making the ruins come alive. The combination of well-preserved structures and the surrounding rainforest created an unforgettable atmosphere. There are tour guides at Palenque if you chose to pay for a more in-depth history of the site and Mayan culture.
Throughout the tour, our guide was professional, humorous, friendly, and attentive. The transitions between each location were smooth, and the entire day felt thoughtfully planned. This tour is a fantastic way to experience some of Chiapas’ most iconic natural and cultural treasures, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the region.

Palenque magic
Wonderful informative guide made Palenque come alive. A very long day but super amazing. Beautiful waterfalls.

Discovering Palenque’s jewels
The visit to the ruins was spectacular - Carlos our guide was super knowledgeable, had lots of interesting facts and it was nice to see the place through his expert eyes. Our driver was really great, always driving responsibly and giving us cool tips about Palenque and restaurants. Lastly, the waterfalls were simply magestic, we were recommended to spend more time in Cascadas Agua Azul which was the right choice.

Beautiful locations but no English spoken
No English spoken so thankfully there was another guest who could translate from Spanish. Both waterfalls were amazing and we had a really great day. The trip ran on time all day.

Nice way to travel to Palenque
Good way to see explore palenque. Feels a little rushed at the waterfalls and too much time at the ruins. The company were nice enough to let us bring our luggage (strapped to the top of the van) and allowed us to stay in Palenque for the rest of our trip.
FYI - No English and there was hardly any signal for Google translate; just to confirm the plans for the day. -Also try to be picked up first as the back row is very tiny and it's a very bumpy ride.

Awesome day filled with...
Awesome day filled with adventures!! Both waterfalls were beautiful Palenqué was one of the coolest ruins I’ve been to yet! Luis our driver drove good so that helped the longggg way back if your willing to be in the van for a long period of time amazing experience. If not better to think of staying the night in Palenqué!

Great package
As expected, all aspects of the trip were fulfilled. It would have been nice to spend more time at Misol Ha but I think that the timings are fluid depending on so many factors, so beyond the remit of the Driver

Ruins, jungle walk and beautiful falls.
We paid to upgrade on the day, directly with our guide, Sebastian to include an hr jungle walk which was amazing. We got to hear and see howling monkeys before heading in to the impressive ruins.
Sebastian was knowledgeable about both with great English.
We waited for the driver to return and pick us, and another party up, to head to the falls.
The driver only spoke Spanish which unfortunately we don't so trying to find out what time we had to meet at the future return points was tricky and we had to rely on other passengers, I appreciate we hadn't learnt the language but a simple clock to illustrate the collection times might have been useful.
The drive to the waterfalls is long, very bendy, with lots of potholes and speed bumps. Glad we didn't have to navigate the roads ourselves but it is a journey you need to be prepared for!!
The falls were beautiful and loads of vendors at Agua Azul for food or shopping opportunities.

Cool tour, long ride :’)
Great waterfalls! Really nice to go if you are taking the route to San Cristobal. Unfortunately we were handed over to another tour bus halfway through the tour, because of that we couldn’t sit next to each other anymore. The trip from Agua Azul to S. Cristobal takes about 5 hours with lots of turns. We felt it was a very long trip after such a day. Luckily they played a movie in the car which made the time go by a bit faster. If you search the organizer online they have a WhatsApp number where they react very quick. It was easy to reschedule even a day in advance!

Fantastic experience but not easy going
This excursion was brilliant. The waterfalls were each very different, but both beautiful and Palenque was amazing. Being able to fit three fantastic visits into one day was well worth doing. It was however a very, very long day - more than 12 hours of driving in a small van along windy roads with what seemed like an infinite number of speed bumps. You start very early and don’t return until the late evening which was fine for me, but isn’t for everyone. Worth packing a travel pillow, snacks, water, hand sanitizer and bug spray.
There was a slightly more expensive option for an ‘English speaking guide’ which my partner and I opted for as our Spanish is minimal. Don’t pick this - there’s some sort of miscommunication and an English guide wasn’t provided for us, nor others who did the same having looked at other reviews on Viator. We complained about this after the tour and were provided with a partial refund. You should also note that the driver did not speak English either so confirming timings was a bit tricky.
So, in summary, a fantastic (albeit long and tiring) day, but maybe avoid if you are specifically looking for an English speaking tour (these are apparently a lot pricier FYI) or suffer from travel sickness.
