The workshop is made to be fun and interactive. We want people to enjoy learning about guatemalan culture and the history of cacao. The chocolate is high quality and natural. We only use cacao, cacao butter and sugar. We also have a cafeteria where you can enjoy traditional food while you wait for your chocolate to freeze. There is also a beautiful garden to enjoy a hot chocolate o coffee.

Immerse yourself in Guatemalan culture and cuisine with a small-group cooking class at Cuscun Cooking School in Antigua. First, visit the local market to shop for fresh ingredients, herbs, and spices, then get hands-on in the kitchen under the guidance of a local chef. Create a variety of typical Guatemalan dishes, such as ‘tamales, ‘pepián’ (meat stew), or chiles rellenos (stuffed chilies).

Antigua is known for its jade, and while you can pick up everything from earrings to jade sculptures in the local market, it's much more fun to carve your own special piece to take home. With the help of a jade-carver instructor, learn how to fabricate your own piece that you can display as a necklace or bracelet charm or on a keychain.

It will be 3 hours of Guatemalan magic, you will live a stately experience, where I will show you the cuisine of Guatemala. I will take you to my house that is located in one of the most exclusive areas of the city, you enjoy beautiful avenues from a 21st floor, and I will invite you to cook in my kitchen, I will take you back to the past with a demonstration of a Mayan ceremony, and we will be tasting the dish that you choose, I will explain step by step and where your dish comes from. Includes 3 times where I choose your entry and posts I am is a surprise to you. I use fresh and seasonal ingredients, traveling more than 200 km to bring the best of Guatemala and include it in your food. Depending on the season we can make hot cocoa, a surprise gift from our culture, I will take home a special ingredient, a photo with a typical Guatemalan costume. The hours of 11 am are the only ones where we will visit the Traditional Market

Each dish is prepared from scratch with fresh ingredients and traditional techniques, including the use of clay pot and handmade tortillas. We only work with small groups of up to 12 people to offer a more personalized, closer and authentic experience. We also offer vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options with prior notice. The recipes are written in Spanish, English or French to help you understand the stages. The atmosphere is intimate, warm and familiar, ideal for travelers seeking a genuine cultural experience outside of mass tourism.

If you’re looking for a full day trip that will deepen your knowledge of Guatemala and expose you to interacting with local communities off-the-beaten-path, this is for you. The activities take place in the community of San Miguel Escobar on the outskirts of Antigua (20 or 30 minutes), where the coffee-growing families welcome you into their homes to start the experience in a rural Guatemalan kitchen to learn to cook Guatemalan traditional dishes: Pepian, plantain mole, and tortillas on a wood-burning stove. After lunch, a coffee farmer will lead you through their fields, explain the work behind cultivating coffee, walk you through each processing step from bean to brew, and finish the tour by joining you for a coffee in their home. Along the way, you’ll learn more than just the process behind coffee-you’ll have authentic and transparent conversations with small-scale producers and their families.
