Day Trips from Brasov to Sinaia Monastery

Travel between the far-flung attractions of Transylvania without worrying about getting lost on rural roads on this day trip, designed with visitors on a time budget in mind. In an intimate small group limited to seven people, you’ll visit Peles Castle, Bran Castle (Dracula’s Castle), and Rasnov Fortress and benefit from both the personalized attention and insider knowledge of your guide.

From Brasov, cover Bran Castle, Peles Castle, Cantacuzino Castle, and Sinaia Monastery on a full-day shared tour capped at eight travelers. An English-speaking tour leader accompanies the route, which takes in Bran’s medieval fortress, Peles’ 160 rooms, and Cantacuzino’s Neo-Romanian-style residence with Bucegi Mountain views. The itinerary includes time in the mountain resort of Sinaia, once a summer retreat for Romania’s Royal Family, while the tour starts and ends in Brasov.

This experience is designed as a balanced cultural journey rather than a rushed checklist tour. By combining royal heritage, spiritual landmarks, and medieval fortifications in a single, well-paced day, travelers gain a deeper understanding of Transylvania’s historical layers. The itinerary prioritizes storytelling, context, and meaningful time at each stop, allowing guests to explore at a relaxed rhythm instead of following rigid schedules. Departing from Brașov, this tour focuses on authentic history, architectural detail, and scenic landscapes, making it ideal for travelers seeking insight, comfort, and a thoughtfully curated day in the Carpathian Mountains. Monday and Tuesady Peles Castle is closed.

The tour to Peles and Cantacuzino castles comprises beauty and history in one. Peles is Europe's first electrified castle with all modern utilities including central heating, running hot and cold water, central vacuum cleaner, an electrical elevator and much more already from the beginning of the 20th century. Visiting Peles Castle is almost like being inside an art work itself, every step we take inside we get mesmerized by every small detail, the different carvings, paintings and furniture piece competing with well known castles and palaces around the world. Cantacuzino Castle was the summer home of a well known politician of the 19th century Grigore Cantacuzino. He used to be one of the wealthiest man in Romania at that time and decided to construct this authentic monument with a breathtaking panorama to the Bucegi Mountains. The Castle constructed in Neo-Romanian architectural style is surrounded with alleys and pathways which lead to fountains, waterfalls and small caves.
