Top Beijing How to Get Around in 2026

Unlike standard tours, this experience is led by a professional historian who brings Yonghe Temple’s 300-year history to life. You’ll discover hidden stories behind the 18-meter sandalwood Buddha, Tibetan Buddhist rituals, and the temple’s rare Han-Tibetan-Mongolian architecture. Perfect for history lovers and culture seekers who want more than just a visit.

Most Forbidden City tours stop at history. Ours adds a local kitchen. Start with a seamless, all-included visit: main hall + Treasure Gallery tickets, expert guide, and Bluetooth ear‑hook earphones. Then go beyond sightseeing — join a local family to make dumplings from scratch. You’ll learn the art of folding, hear real stories of daily life, and sit down to eat what you’ve made together. One tour. Imperial history + authentic local cooking. Spaces are limited — book yours today.

Why book us? We are NOT an agency. This is NOT a staged tour. Here is the real difference: 1. GLOBAL VISION, LOCAL SOUL: My wife and I are born-and-raised Beijingers who grew up in these alleys, but we have traveled the world. We know what sophisticated travelers hate about boring group tours, and we connect like old friends. 2. PRIVATE FAMILY COURTYARD: Enter my relative’s private courtyard home—a protected historic site. It is 100% exclusive; no other tour on Viator has the keys. It is a living residence, not a commercial museum. 3. NO PASSSIVE SIGHTSEEING: We spend a full hour getting you hands-on to master the art of spinning the Diabolo (Chinese Yo-yo) right in the alley like a true local. 4. REAL TASTES: No tourist traps. Enjoy traditional snacks handmade by my aunt inside the courtyard, explore a 1,000-year-old Muslim quarter, and find rare street foods. Want a cookie-cutter trip? Book someone else. Want an elite local connection? Welcome to the family.
