Join us for a photographic exploration of the stunning coastal and mountain landscapes as we explore the highlights of the Turnagain Arm. Your itinerary includes Turnagain Arm, Chugach National Forest, and Chugach State Park, with the opportunity to photograph mountain streams, waterfalls, coastal mudflats, glaciers, and both the Chugach and Kenai mountains. Depending on the season, wildlife opportunities may include bears, moose, Dall sheep, Bald eagles, and Beluga whale. Unlike other Turnagain Arm tours available in Anchorage, our tour does not go to well-known, crowded locations. Our objective is to take you off the beaten path to explore unique photo locations that provide great photo opportunities. Throughout the tour, you’ll be offered creative and technical support by your Alaska Photo Treks guide. It’s a great way to see the sights while honing your photography skills. This is a combined local Anchorage history and ebike tour. The ebikes ensure a pleasant and relaxing ride covering a large swath of Anchorage city. You will be guided on a tour through Anchorage's history, from pre-colonization through the present era. Along the "way" we'll cover Anchorage's history as a tent city labor camp to the aviation hub to the military buildup in World War II and through the oil-boom of the 1980s. The bike tour will mostly be along Anchorage's scenic greenbelt trails, including the Coastal Trail. Our route also takes us through the Campbell Creek and Chester Creek bike paths, were moose sightings are common. Belugas and bear have also been sighted. All in all it's a fabulous way to spend a half-day in Anchorage, getting to know the city's history, enjoying a near-effortless ebike ride, and seeing the surrounding mountains and (with luck) seeing wildlife.

If you're a first-time visitor or short on time, this small-group tour offers a comprehensive introduction to Anchorage and its modern culture. You'll make brief stops at sites including the Alaska Railroad Depot and Earthquake Park on your way to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center (admission included) and the Portage Glacier, with a total duration of about 7 to 8 hours.

This is an amazing way to be guaranteed to see many of Alaska's most sought after wildlife in a safe and animal friendly park! The bears are adorable, but trust me, seeing a bear in the wild can be a pretty intimidating. Much of Alaska's wildlife you will never see and even the moose, which are super common, visitors can go days or even weeks without seeing one and sometimes you'll see a few in any given day but visiting Alaska's Wildlife Conservation Center guarantees you'll see these animals and so many more! Licensed by Alaska's Transportation Department, this is for 3 - 10 people because of the way the Viator commissions and Park fees work, if you are just one or two people you can still book the tour but I need to charge for 3 - 10 people to make it feasible, if that makes sense.
