We had an excellent tour with Haroub as our guide and Ally as our driver. The Dolphin swimming was packed with about 50 other boats, but we expected that ahead of time. Kate was able to get within 5 feet of a dolphin. The reef swimming had a lot of colorful fish. Salaam cave with the turtle swimming was amazing. The Kazu cave was also a good experience. We had a good meal at the rock restaurant. We would recommend this tour

Wonderful stops, rushed by distance

Jennifer_K, Mar 2026
We had a really great time at each stop. The tour felt somewhat rushed since we were coming from Jambiani and had a lot to fit in and a lot of driving in between. This isn't the tour operators fault, but I do think giving the tourists booking a heads up would be a good idea. The map doesn't make it look far, but the roads make it far. Micky was wonderful and took my phone and took amazing pictures for us during each stop. Charles was a wonderful driver and we had great conversations and some reggae jam out sessions in the car.

A perfect day

allysoncrocombe, Mar 2026
Our tour guide Abdul was great and made our day very special. The boat trip to Mnemba was very good, we saw dolphins, but be aware there are a lot of boats around chasing the dolphins we requested to move on. We had a great time in the shallow water around Mnemba spotting starfish and other marine life. We then headed to deeper water to snorkel, amazing. We the went to Salam caves and swam with turtles and fed them, a great experience. From here we went to Kuza cave, very busy but was able to get in the water. We opted to miss the beach stop and headed straight to The Rock restaurant where we had pre booked a table as advised by the tour operator several weeks prior. The food at The Rock was very good. Our whole experience on this tour was perfect from start to finish.

Avoid. Operator changes the itinerary and turned up late and didn’t communicate

Sue_B, Jan 2026
Operator did not communicate and turned up 1.5 hours late. As a result our trip was significantly changed and we didn’t get to see the dolphins in mbemba. We only went to kuza and salaam. Do not trust these guys.

Great experience. Mickey...

Great experience. Mickey is great and friendly guide. I recommend him. Asante sana. We really enjoyed the experience

Selling this as a snorkeling trip is totally misleading - wish I had read the reviews before

Tanja_S, Dec 2025
On the plus side: - nice tour guide - comfortable car - lunch at The Rock (highly recommended) On the minus side: - spent 80% of the excursion in a car - nightmare scenario when our boat was one of about 35-40 boats, roaring and emitting exhaust gas while chasing down a swarm of dolphines - underwater world in the proximity of Mnemba is to a large extent destroyed. Snorkeling was not worth it

Great tour

Jefferson_P, Oct 2024
The tour was incredible! Mohammed and the driver were really good and easy going! We had a full busy day making the most of everything without anyone rushing us and telling us the time! The places were stunning and definitely my highlight of Zanzibar. Thank you very much. I would highly recommend it

Had a blast

Jumping out the boat to swim with dolphins. Looking for starfish and the kuza cave history. The rock restaurant was ok

Full day of fun exploring the island

Lindsay_S, Sep 2024
What an action packed day with so many points of interest! The swimming with the dolphins was a bit chaotic with all of the other boats but our guide Juma did his best to get us opportunities to see them. Lunch at the Rock was delicious and the snorkeling after was nice. It’s a long full day of activities and a great way to celebrate my birthday!

Great tour

Pr_H, Mar 2023
Great tour! Everything was perfect. Abdullah was a great tour guide and explainde lot of things for us. He had answer to all of our questions. It was ramadan and we had a lot of questions anort that. We really enjoyed ourselfs. First to see the dolphins, then snorkling. After that we hade a nice ’picknick’ with different fresh fruites and water. Overall a great tour that we highly recommened.

Car trip not boat trip

Kamila_H, Dec 2022
This trip is for those who want to spend 6 hours in car, 1 hour in restaurant and 3 hours in the small boat.

Katastrophe

Kirsti_W, Feb 2025

Restaurant the Rock incontournable. . Chauffeur professionnel.

Genügend Zeit, um sich alles anzuschauen

Oliver_G, Jun 2024
Super organisiert, super Fahrer, top Guide „Matthias „ Pünktlich!!!

Sehr gehetzt und lieblos die Ereignisse aneinandergereiht / Very rushed and lovelessly strung together

Wiebke_F, Sep 2023
Pickup on time, but no explanations about the procedure and also otherwise no explanations about the country and people during the many time in the car. Instead, silence in the car. The first snorkeling spot was not, as the headline and the pictures of the tour suggest, on Mnemba Island, but far in the sea next to the island. The island is privately owned and may not be approached. Before that there was a real hunt for dolphins. Constantly pursued and circled by motorboats and followed by snorkelers in the water, this part of the excursion was more of a shock than an experience. Especially when knowing how the whole thing is respectfully done on the Azores. In wet clothes we went on, because at Mnemba Beach there is no changing room. So with bathing suits and bathing shoes off to Kuza cave. There again was same water so the wet clothes were not in vain. But also here hardly explanations about the location, but letting the. guests have a swim and off we go. Next stop was Starfish Beach. But it was not a beach but a 0.7m deep place in the sea where the animals are. So with snorkel and goggles, or not at all. After that we came to the famous restaurant The Rock at the nearby beach. We were 30 minutes early and thought we could still change clothes at the nearby parked car, but no go. With wet swimming trunks and water shoes we were allowed into the restaurant and felt quite miserable. Beautiful location but for memory photos not the right outfit. About the restaurant it should be said that as vegetarians we took the one menu available and can not say anything about the fish dishes. But for a portion of rice and three pieces of traditional bread and a small portion of very mild vegetable curry $ 23 is a rip-off. So if you know about the country and the people beforehand and only want to visit the places mentioned and if you don't mind sitting in a bathing suit in a restaurant, this tour is recommended. To all others we advise perhaps to make a similar tour, but not this one.
