Amazing tour today with our fantastic tour guide Abu (Abubakar) to a community-owned spice farm just outside of Stone Town. We had a brilliant time learning about the history of spice farming in Zanzibar, how certain spices are grown and harvested, got to guess which spice was which by the smell of each plant and seed, and even received a lovely surprise at the end of a handmade gift from our spice farm guide Saïd! We returned to Stone Town, and we were able to talk about what we had already done, and what else we would like to do, and Abu was really helpful in mentioning other places we might like to visit. Abu kept it really exciting and engaging throughout, and we even stopped for some delicious Swahili food for lunch. Thank you Abu! 10/10!
