The tour was super informative! I would have never imagined the rich history of Zadar, but Dorja really brought it to life! The pace was perfect. Walk a little, listen a little. :) We enjoyed the cheese and maraschino liquor tastings. Nice touch! It was a little over 2 hours well spent! Please note if you are on a cruise ship, taking an Uber to the meeting point is the cheapest option. We took the 11:00 tour but then went back close to sunset to see the Greeting to the Sun in action. Spectacular!

I’ve been on many excursions and this tour is the only tour that left you behind. At pick up we messaged we could not find them and said where we were outside the Port. The response we got was “Hurry” after finding out our guide left us we decided to take a taxi to catch up. Unfortunately the taxi driver knew our predicament and took advantage of us gouging the cost and wanting cash only once we caught up. Once with our tour we found out the others were from the same port-so why would looking for us be a problem? I was hoping for an acknowledgment from the tour guide- did not get one. Not even a glad you found us. When the tour was over we were asked if we wanted to go back to the port now (1:30pm) or walk around town and get picked up at 3:00pm? We said we would like to be picked up at 3:00pm and the guide told us to be exactly where we were a little before 3:00pm. We were 20 minutes early and at 3:30pm ended up calling for another taxi. Again tried to contact the company and had no answer.
On every excursion someone tends to be late for many reason; making a purchase, using the toilet, or even getting lost. I have never been on an excursion where the guide decides to leave their guest behind, especially knowing we were waiting for them.

Looking at our correspondence Mr.Marr, I see that your review is not in agreement with the messages you wrote, actual situations or with the service purchased on the platform. I will try to explain to you again in detail what you bought from us and agreed with me in writing. When you read it, I believe that the least you can do is change your review or remove it, since most of the reasons and situations you state are incorrect.
1) You Sean purchased a shared 2h city tour of Zadar in English with an additional transfer service at an agreed time from a specific location. The transfer was agreed in writing in advance at 10:30 AM from the port and return at 3 PM. The city tour with a guide lasts 2 hours and starts at 11 AM to 1 PM. The tour has a timetable and itinerary visible on the platform you used. The service is intended for all visitors of Zadar, not just people from cruise ships. You did not book a half-day excursion from the ship excursion organizer. The guide and vehicle were available to you only at the stated time. You were not told that the guide would be waiting for you at the port or if necessary, looking for you around the port.
2) You did not show up for the scheduled pickup at 10:30 AM at the location in the port, which was explained to you on June 2nd when you booked. You were sent photos and told that the driver, not the guide, will have your name on the paper. On October 7th, you were sent a reminder and an updated pickup time for 10:30 AM. You received both emails and confirmed your return at 3 PM. On the day of the tour, at 10:37 AM, you were sent a message to hurry to the location because the driver, not the guide, was waiting for you. In your review, you state that you first informed us that you were just at the parking lot, and that we replied to you to hurry. This is incorrect. You only responded to our email at 10:53 AM and said that you had just left the building. You contacted me the owner for the first time that morning at 10:53 AM and asked me by email what vehicle it was. You left the building at 10:53 AM, why when you were booked for a pickup at 10:30 AM? You can't get from the port to the city in 7 min, and the tour starts at 11 AM. At 11:07 AM you write that you are in the parking lot. Did you expect others to wait for you for 37 min? Why didn't you call at 10:30 AM and say you were late? As I already said, you didn't buy a boat excursion that starts when the group gathers, but a public 2h city tour with a fixed start at 11 AM in the city and a pickup at 10:30 AM in the port.
3) You claim that it is wrong that you were not waited for. I don't think that people visit Zadar to sit in a van waiting people who are late and not knowing if these people are coming at all. Yet you were waited for on 3 occasions. 10 min in the port. 10 min at the meeting point in the city and again at the Forum where I told you that I will be in 15 min by text. You had 3 chances and you missed all 3.
4) You claim that you managed to find a guide, but you don't know his name. I the owner sort the groups, assign guides and check the tickets that are proof that you booked my tour. Who did you show the ticket to and ask if you were allowed to join? Did you check with the guide whether it was the group you were supposed to join? You joined a group on your own initiative without confirmation from the official representative of my agency, which is me, that it was the group you were supposed to join. You said in your message that another tourist told you that it was your group. Is the other tourist a representative of my agency or does he work for me? So it is not surprising that the guide did not greet you as someone who was looking for her. If I were you, I would wonder if I was in the right place because you were clearly not. Your group was my group that I personally led and no one else. I had a T-shirt with the agency logo and an umbrella with the same logo. Everyone in your group had an agreed return at 3 PM that day, and some had 1 more city on their itinerary so by waiting for you longer than I allowed they could risk being late for boarding the ship.
5) I did not receive the call after 11:06 AM as you stated in your review that you called after 3 PM. I was the only one at the meeting point who could tell you which vehicle and where they would pick you up at 3 PM, no one else. If you were in the group you belong to, you would recognize the people who are going with you at 3 PM and you would know everything. You did not call me as you state in your review at 3 PM or after 3 PM otherwise you would have been driving with my vehicle. You called at 11:06 and I told you that you cannot 'catch' a guide around the city after 11:10 AM, and the reasons are obvious, because you do not belong to any group.
You did not show up for the pickup and you did not show up at the meeting point in the city, nor at the Forum. You joined the wrong group, misunderstood everything and now you are punishing me and my work because you were late. I did everything in advance and provided information, time, photos, where to cross the road so that you could quickly and on time find your driver. What a nice reward for everything I provided you with, all in vane.

The Zadar City Walking Tour was the perfect introduction to our port of call in Zadar, Croatia. Our local guide, Dorja, possessed all of the attributes deserving of a five-star rating: punctuality, knowledgeable, flexibility, and friendliness. Everything promised in the tour description was delivered in a timely manner and at a leisurely pace. The tour focused on Old Town Zadar, including its history, architecture, and cultural landmarks. Our guide Dorja was very passionate and interesting. She goes into a great amount of detail about the historical and political aspects of her city. There was a lot of information offered. We had two pleasant stops to sample local produce, with no pressure of up sales. It was an enjoyable morning for our group of 7.

Dorja is a professional guide and very knowledgeable. We booked the tour at noon for the evening session at 6:30pm. She gave clear instructions to meet up, on time, and told us history of Zadar in details. Despite shower after an hour walk and finally windy and a little heavier rain, we finished the tour gratefully.
