The tour guide Maya was absolutely fantastic. Excursion was top-notch and if you have the physical strength to do, it would recommend to anyone willing to spend four hours to climb the side of Whistler Mountain. Would recommend gloves to keep the calluses off your hands but other than that great overall experience. Apparently, the tour in the morning is actually hotter than the one in the afternoon due to the position of the sun so keep that in mind when booking.

The Via Ferrata is a fantastic experience. Our guide, Jeremy, was fantastic and we had a great climb. It is a physical activity, but not overly challenging if you’re decently mobile. The views at the top of the mountain are breathtaking and the bridge at the top of the mountain is great too. We would absolutely do another activity with MSAA - they were fantastic.

Response from Host, Aug 2025

Thank you for the wonderful feedback! We’re thrilled you enjoyed the Via Ferrata and the stunning views. Jeremy will be glad to hear your praise, and we look forward to adventuring with you again.

A walk in the clouds

Sarah_B, Aug 2024
We took a walk in the clouds. It was an overcast day, just bad luck in August. The Via Ferrata was still fun and our guide, Emile, was awesome and kept us going and entertained throughout the experience. We felt safe and had fun.

Response from Host, Aug 2024

Amazing, even with fear of heights

Todd_J, Jun 2024
I have a very strong fear of heights. I almost backed out when we got to the top of the gondola and looked at where we were going to climb. Thankfully I was able to put aside my fear and do the climb. Our guide Victor was great. The view is amazing up there. Make sure to bring sunscreen and water, and to wear wool socks.

Response from Host, Jul 2024

What an incredible experience

Shaun_A, Sep 2023
An incredible experience that is a must try for all outdoor enthusiasts. First time visiting Whistler and found this gem of an experience. Never tried Via Ferrata before so it was all new for us. Victor, our tour guide, was very friendly and patient with everyone in our group. Explaining each step along the course, and filling us in on interesting facts about the area and pointing out geographic features of the area. We generally felt safe the entire trip and didn’t feel rushed. The lift requires a tickets so best to purchase it ahead of time to avoid delays. You first go up the Whistler gondola to the via Ferrata trail. Afterwards you have the option to do more trails at the top Whistler mountain or take the peak 2 peak gondola to Blackcomb mountain and explore that area. Keep in mind the earlier tour is better as it gives you time in the afternoon to enjoy and explore the mountain tops.

Fantastic

Fantastic trip. Guide was so knowledgeable and friendly. We had a great time. We're walkers but not climbers and found this was just the right side of challenging.

Awesome Experience

Jess_F, Aug 2023
This was one of the best things we did in Whistler - and we completed the Via Ferrata in a snow blizzard! Our guides (Victor and Maya) were fantastic - they made everyone feel safe and were so encouraging. I highly recommend this experience, and it's truly beautiful.

Amazing

Lori_K, Jul 2023
The best part of this experience was our guide 'Rob'. He was informative, patient and knowledgeable. I highly recommend him as a guide

Unique Experience

MW_V, Jul 2023
This was an awesome tour! We wanted to have a unique experience while in Whistler and this fit the bill. It was just the right amount of challenge and the reward came in the form of beautiful views when we got to the top (and all along the way). Jeremy was a great guide and handled our group with ease, even when a little anxiety crept up on our part.

A must adventure!

Roc_M, Oct 2022
The entire experience from walking towards the glaciers, hiking from flats to steeps leading up to the via Ferrata climb was just amazing. Our tour guide was very professional and knowledgeable.

Response from Host, Oct 2022

Thank you for the wonderful review and for taking the time to share your feedback with MSAA.

Totally recommended!

LUISGERARDO_B, Sep 2022
Amazing experience! Rob was very insightful, sharing interpretation all the way to the hill of the whistler mountain. He was able to share the love he has for the nature and the mountain. Expect incredible views and a really fun and safe experience.

Response from Host, Oct 2022

Thanks for leaving a review, and mentioning Rob. You’re right, Rob is always going above and beyond. We’ll be sure to share your praises with them!

Fantastic Guide; Awesome Sights

Maria_S, Jun 2022
Our Via Ferrata tour had to be canceled because there was too much snow on the mountain (in June!). Still, we were contacted in advance and offered an alternative excursion— the cliff walk and glissading combo tour. Our guide Erica was sooo positive, informative, enthusiastic, and professional. She called my husband’s fear of heights and made everyone confident and comfortable during our cliff walk. She also too the best photos of us of our whole vacation! I would love to return to Whistler and do Via Ferrata, but the company and the substitution tour were the highlight of our vacation (much credit to our guide and the flawless weather!).

Response from Host, Jun 2022

We are thrilled to have you as part of the MSAA family! Thank you for sharing your kind words with us. It means the world to us and to our entire team. We look forward to serving you again soon! Nic

Audrey F, Sep 2017
Confession - this was a bit overwhelming for me. I'm short, and not extremely limber, so there were points where I struggled to get from point A to Point B reaching from one hand/foothold to another. The altitude played a factor in it, also. There were a couple of points where I wanted to give up and pay big bucks for a helicopter rescue, but took some deep breaths, gathered some strength and made it to the next handhold. This 57 year old lady doesn't quit! But this is not a reflection on the tour itself, simply me stating that I'm not as young, strong, athletic and in-shape as I used to be! The great parts: our very patient and knowledgeable guide the scenery - snow in July, mountain and valley views the overall wow factor a sense of accomplishment. I never felt like we were in danger, I wasn't scared, and it was a seriously cool experience. I wanted this to be a challenge, and it was! To be honest, the descriptions made it sound easier than it was. Even my strong, athletic daughter found it to be physically challenging. Just be prepared, know your limits, bring some nutrition and water and a lot of fortitude, and enjoy.

This tour was amazing! Theresa, our guide, was so friendly and super helpful and supportive; she placed me behind her as I was not used to walking in snow or climbing. The climb pushed me to my limits. With lots of adrenaline and low risk being tethered in makes it a fun alpine experience. Although it was cloudy and couldn't see anything below, it was an amazing activity.
