What an amazing experience!!! We went out early in the morning and our guide had everything prepared for us. My dad doesn’t have the best vision and our guide adapted to him and made it a wonderful experience. Super beginner friendly but our guide was very knowledgeable and knew what he was doing and the best places to go. BOOK IT!!

This was our first trip back to Whistler since the pandemic and we knew we wanted to go fishing again with Whistler Year-Round Fishing. Matt was an awesome guide and really has the onboarding process down to a science. He was a great teacher and was very patient whenever lines got tangled or snagged on a tree. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to do some fishing while at Whistler! Also, Dawson, if you are reading this, you were missed on the trip! We hope to see you again as a guide!

Cole was great! My 14 year old son and I went and it was wonderful. We both caught fish and learned techniques. Super convenient. We were picked up at our hotel, they had all the gear, all we had to do was show up. I’ve never fished before. There was some amount of trekking to get to the fishing area fyi. Not a big deal but be aware it wasn’t just showing up at a lake and fishing. Highly recommend. Beautiful scenery too.

Fun morning of fishing!

Our experience started with a quick drive to the parking lot, where our guide Dawson quickly got us outfitted into the essential gear to wade into the water for fly fishing. Then we had an incredible short hike through the forest to the lake where he took us to the perfect, and one of the most unreal and scenic spots I have ever fished. The fish were biting and it was a lot of fun for the whole family! Dawson was great at making sure my wife and daughter knew the ins and outs of working a fly rod as this was their first time, and he even had some great pointers for me as it had been a while since I had done any fly fishing. 10/10 experience!!!

Loved this unique experience! The owner of the business Matt is fantastic and picked us up from the hotel and dropped us back after. Cole took well care of us for the duration of the fishing trip and it was such a fun experience! We really loved the lake they took us to because we were fly fishing in glacial waters while viewing the snow capped mountains surrounding us. Quite a magical experience. We caught about 7 fish and fish were biting when we went in early May.

Fun fishing in freezing weather

Matt picked me, my 13 yo son and 16 yo son up right at the Hilton and drove us to a local river to fish.. He had a very efficient system to get us suited up in our waders and we fished several different spots in the river. We are are fairly beginners when it comes to fishing but Matt was very patient and kind teaching us some skills and we caught a few fish! We had a great time despite it being near zero degrees and would strongly recommend this fishing trip!

Matt, our tour guide, made this experience wonderful. His passion for fishing, the outdoors and Whistler in general is contagious. He was very professional and had his gear set up in such a way that we spent very little of our 3 hours preparing and most of it fishing. Matt is very knowledgeable and he put us on the fish quickly. All of us (3) we're lucky enough to land a rainbow trout and had many bites throughout our time. I was highly recommend this experience for those who are into fishing or simply want to try it out.

EXCELLENT experience from start to finish. Matthew was an amazing guide, and it is very clear he knows the Whistler area. Matthew took us to a great little hidden fishing spot we would have never found on our own. The river was a scene out of a movie, we couldn't get over how beautiful everything was. He has a great sense of humor, is an expert guide on how/where to fish, and has a great attitude that made the morning one we won't forget. Would reccomend him to everyone.

Perfect fishing experience in Whistler

Matthew is a true expert at his trade! What an excellent guide, fisherman and genuine nice guy he is. Nature around us was beautiful. The peace and quiet of the surrounding in the early morning is perfect. We caught bull trout and rainbow trout. Matthew maximized the fishing time and knew where to be and how to tempt the fish to bite. An abdolute must do when in Whistler!

Great outdoor activity while in Whistler!

My husband and I signed up for the 5-hour trip in early September, and it was a blast. Before the trip, Matt sent us an email with detailed instructions on how to get the fishing license (easy enough to do online) and arrange for pick-up. On the day of the trip, Dawson drove us to a quiet, shady spot about 30 minutes away from Whistler that was chock-full of pink salmon. With Dawson's excellent advice, we each caught at least five salmon! Dawson not only served as a fishing guru, but he also helped us unhook the fish when it was time to release them, detangled fishing lines, and took tons of pictures on our phones to commemorate the experience. It was a great day trip, and I would love to return for ice fishing in the winter! For those planning to do the 5-hour adventure, I would recommend bringing water bottles and some snacks. Reeling in fish can take a lot out of you!
