The Ancient Trees of Vancouver Walking Tour was rich, inspiring, educational, and fun. Colin's passion for and knowledge about the ancient trees made our morning walk through the old forest in Stanley Park's interior an exceptionally memorable experience. I would say, even a spiritual one. Highly recommend!

Colin's knowledge of trees is impressive and his enthusiasm is infectious. In addition to showing us amazing trees - such as a 1000 year old cedar - he talked about the challenges of finding, mapping, and preserving ancient trees. Fascinating and thought provoking.
A brilliant walk through the ancient trees of Stanley Park - Colin is a fantastic guide, extremely friendly and full of knowledge! If you love being in nature walking amongst some very tall trees then you will not regret this experience!! Suitable footwear and layering of clothes is recommended as it can get windy. There are toilets at the meeting point so it is recommended you use these before starting the walk as there are no amenities while on the walk. It is purely a walk through the trees, it does not include the totem poles. We had a fantastic time and learned a lot!

Tour was canceled due to unexpected city events that closed the park. Time constraints prevented us from rescheduling.
I cannot share enough how incredible this tour was. My husband and I keep raving about it to everyone. It is a great way to experience Stanley Park, be in a bit of nature in the middle of a city, and learn. Colin is fantastic. Honestly, this was the highlight of our trip.
Colin's knowledge of, and passion for, nature, trees and conservation was impressive. From first greeting, he was engaging and personable as he took us on an amazing 'all things trees' journey through beautiful Stanley Park, sharing with us the history of some of the park's ancient trees, some sadly absent, some hidden. It was a great tour, Colin a fabulous guide. Thoroughly recommend this tour.
This was the highlight of our trip to Vancouver. Colin’s, knowledge of the trees and all things native to the area was amazing! My husband and I learned so much and had a fantastic time in such a beautiful environment. I highly recommend anyone visiting the area to sign up and go see the trees!

We weren’t sure what to expect from this tour, but we finished with a vast amount of knowledge and understanding of the importance of protecting our old growth forests. Collin captured our attention and patiently answered all of our questions along the way. To view such magnificent trees and learn about their age and journey through time was truly inspiring. Collin’s mission to protect this natural resource is beyond admirable. A “must do” for anyone visiting Stanley Park.

Nature lovers, this ancient tree tour is worth your time! We loved Collin the tour guide who is passionate about trees, history, birding and nature! Best money spent in Vancuver, most unique and only available in worlds largest public park!

Great walk full of information about ancient trees, the ecosystem and Colin is full of facts and fun information, he is very knowledgeable. The walking tour is about 2:30h no spots to sit unless it's on the occasional tree stump and absolutely no bathrooms. It's the perfect way to see Stanley Park's mostly unseen trails and see very very old trees. It's impressing to be touching a 1000 year old cedar! More than likely a very small group also, which is great!

Walking tour that is not too strenuous depending on age and physique. 90% path walking but incline and uneven surfaces can be somewhat challenging for some. Colin (tour guide) was absolutely incredible. A young man who has devoted his life to trees but never got too heavy with the information or went too far down the rabbit hole of the tree world he knows so much about. He kept it educational and engaging. Of course if you wanted to know more he was happy to extend the facts of the Park and surrounding areas. There wasn’t a question he didn’t know the answer to from historical references, to ancient practices and even current events. He really found a way to connect all things to the forest in a unique way that showed how much he cares for and understands multiple different perspectives of how we humans impact and interact with the trees. We saw the largest tree in Vancouver, the 2bd largest maple in the world. Our kids 11 &13 are fun loving exploratory kids and Colin enjoyed having them go off in nature and find slugs, potato bugs, butterflies and my son even found a heron bird leg that was scraps from the bald eagles next above. We were all so engaged that Colin extended the tour a bit and we went a little over the 1.5 hour time. We took a ton of family photos and learned so much about Stanley Park and the trees there. I highly recommend the tour. It’s short, educational, in nature, and has a fabulous engaging host!

Bucket list item. Had a wonderful experience. Tour was led by a passionate and expert professional. A 2.5 hour walk through forest...mostly shaded and even pavement... to see and learn about the magnificent trees and historic area. ...a must do!

An easy walk, with lots of stops to hear the history of 400 to 1000 year old giants from the original Vancouver forests, you come away marvelling at these ancient survivors and a real understanding of the challenges they faced to survive so long. The stories of Stanley Park and its inhabitants interweave facts about climate, meterology, biology, indigenous and western settlers and gives you a true appreciation for this marvellous park and the amazing resiliency of its precious forest in the face of both mankind and nature.
My partner and I went on the Ancient Trees Walking Tour on June 8. It was the last day of a two-week trip to the Pacific Northwest; we'd already had lots of amazing adventures, but I have to say this was one of the highlights of our travels. Colin is so knowledgeable and incredibly engaging. We both learned so much, were awestruck by the beauty of the areas Colin took us too (right there in Vancouver!), and it was quite moving to stand beside trees that towered over us and had been there for 1000 years. The time flew and we would have happily listened to Colin for another three hours. His work in the world, to bring attention to and save the last ancient trees on earth, is inspiring. A gem of a tour - HIGHLY recommend! ... Thank you, Colin, for a great experience and for being you!
Excellent tour with a very knowledgeable guide. We all were so impressed, even with the rainy setting. Dress appropriately and you will enjoy the lack of crowds if you end up with a rainy day.
