The road from Stepantsminda to Gergeti may be also closed due to the snow and impossible to visit.

The couple that took us on this tour were lovely and very informative. We could stop wherever we wanted to stop. It was a 12 hour round trip but well worth especially the 4 wheel drive up the mountain to see Kazbegi monastery. They were a couple to travel with.
